Great dinner with my daughter
We arrived at 6 for dinner, and were seated immediately. The restaurant is beautiful and the wait staff were very friendly. We ordered the lobster for an appetizer; my only critique of the night is that the lobster appetizer was expensive for the portion size. The main course was the prime rib, and it was exceptional! It was a large steak, cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. It came with potatoes and salad, both were very nicely prepared. We left pleasantly full and really enjoyed being there. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner!
Disappointing
Very disappointing. We arrived for our reservation and had to wait half an hour and the restaurant was not full. Our coffees all came at different times- cold and not great quality and took 25 minutes. Our order was taken 40 minutes after we sat down. The food was not great, cold and two dishes came without all the ingredients. The maître de was not friendly, attentive or particularly polite. Our wait person was unorganized and at times confused. This was to be a special brunch in a historic setting. We will not return or recommend to friends.
Hidden gem, amazing !!
What an amazing restaurant ! A hidden gem, in lower old Quebec City, somewhat away from everything else. The service is top notch, in both French and English. Fast to respond and very helpful servers. The menu is medium in size, but the selections for breakfast are amazing ! There I used amazing again. I had never heard of the restaurant, and thankfully was invited. Fresh ingredients, impeccable service, and the food was delicious. An amazing discovery !! Can’t wait to try it for dinner next time.
Fantastic fine dining experience
We wanted an exceptional dinner on our first night in Quebec City and Chez Muffy did not disappoint. We selected the tasting menu and the chef was able to accommodate my husband’s scallop allergy and my dislike of foie gras. We so appreciated the modifications. After we finished our dinner, my husband commented his favorite course was the poached foie gras and mine was the scallops. Bravo!
Terrible Experience
I have reached out to the general manager at Auberge Saint-Antoine, and have gotten no response. I would have preferred to deal with this privately, but I feel that I am left with no other option. Last week, I stayed at Auberge Saint-Antoine for three nights. During that time, my wife and I ate at Chez Muffy twice. The first of which the two of us had the Blind Tasting Menu. That experience was amazing – absolutely top notch. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. We were looking forward to Friday’s dinner at Chez Muffy, and having the full tasting menu, as a culmination of our time at Auberge Saint-Antoine. This was to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. That night, the beginning of our experience was fantastic until the amuse bouche course of our tasting menu. Unfortunately, as the restaurant filled up, the level of service rapidly deteriorated. We had negligible interaction with the staff, and what little interaction we did have was very rushed. A second table that was also having the tasting menu appeared to be experiencing the same issue. What we did notice, was that the staff spent an inordinate amount of time on tables that were ordering a la carte. One table had a staff member there almost non-stop. When it came time for the dessert course, we were not offered the choice of some sort of beverage to have with it – this is a first in all of my dining out (fine dining or otherwise). It was well after our meal was finished when we were asked if would like coffee or tea. At the end of our evening, our waiter walked us out of your restaurant and seemed to want to apologize. I was polite, as the poor service was not his fault, but the damage was done. I have eaten at a number of fine dining establishments, and at many of them I have gotten the tasting menu. Many of these restaurants were very busy, but never have I had such an egregious service experience. In fact, none of the other experiences were remotely close to the one that my wife and I that night. Truth be told, until that meal, I hadn’t realized how vital service is to a fine dining experience. I've had better service at St. Hubert or Swiss Chalet. I feel that the root of the problem, is that once the tasting menu is ordered (and wine pairings with it), it is possible for the staff to go on autopilot when serving the table. There is little need for interaction for each course, in comparison to the need for interaction for those customers ordering a la carte. For those ordering a la carte food and wines, the options for each course and wine require description by the wait staff and response to questions. Thus, ordering a la carte creates many opportunities for developing a relationship with your server throughout the evening. However, this means that when things get very busy in the restaurant, and there an insufficient number of staff, the patrons who have chosen the tasting menu, hoping to have the full Chez Muffy experience, receive the poorest service. All in all, this left us extremely unhappy – which is very sad, because so much of the rest of our stay at Auberge Saint-Antoine was worthy of superlatives.
Superb brunch
Splendid brunch on March 10, 2024...A carefully composed and interesting menu with a variety of flavors. Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, and delicious. For dessert - instead of making a difficult choice among the four desserts listed on the menu, we were served a tray of four different tiny bites, each different and special. The restaurant provides a beautiful setting - old stone walls and massive timbers of a 200 year old structure. This is as good as it gets.
Incroyable!!
This is according to a Canadian restaurant professional the finest restaurant in Canada and based on my cursory experience, I totally agree. My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary and her birthday this evening and we have been overwhelmed. I have been to many fine restaurants in the US, N Europe, Ireland and the UK and this is the nicest one we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Between us we could not find a single fault. Très Manifique!!
BEWARE...they will charge you $100 even if you cancel more than 24hrs in advance!!
We did not actually dine at Chez Muffy so I cannot comment on their food/ambiance. I can comment on an absurd business practice. They charged us $100 cancel fee for canceling a reservation even though we cancelled more than 24hrs in advance. We called to cancel at around 3:00pm the day before our reservation for dinner at 6:30pm the next day...approximately 27 hrs in advance. I fully understand charging a no show fee or a late cancel fee ie. same day, but seriously? $100 when canceling more than 24hrs in advance is egregious! BEWARE
Good Quebecois cuisine in a lovely setting
For the 3-course menu, I had the duck tartare & pan fried foie gras for starter, and the Quebec deer in clay crust for main course. While both required a supplement, it was pretty worthwhile given the size of the serving fod foie gras and deer meat. It was also interesting to watch the waiter break open the clay in which the deer meat was baked. As for dessert, the mer et montagnes chocolate was good too. Being located in a maritime warehouse dating from 1822, the restaurant has a wonderful setting (think stone walls and wooden beams), with a fireplace which was lovely in winter.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
