Chapman's Eat Market Columbus Reviews from The Last Year
Chapman's is always incredible.
Excellent food and service. They have limited seating times meaning that you get a table for 2 hours. Some of my dining partners haven't loved this but I think 2 hours is plenty of time to enjoy the experience. Must haves: 1. Get the general tso's cauliflower appetizer. It's a little spicy but crunchy and soft too. 2. Get an order of the fries with ranch dipping sauce! 3. Chicken & shrimp Khao Soi as a main- super flavorful and especially great on a cold night 4. Definitely get dessert, all options are amazing but the ice cream trio never fails.
I ate at Chapman's tonight with some friends.
I love the green room, it is open and so nice to look out onto the streets. We got the famous cauliflower bowl it was small to split with 3 people. We also got the larger entrees - the half chicken and the lobster khaki soi. The entrees were really delicious and had unique flavors! I just think the price point is a bit too expensive for me. The service was superb though.

To start off, they played Cut to the Feeling by the princess of pop Carly Rae Jepsen. I was eating those beef fat fries and having the time of my life bopping to that hit. Now, I got that halibut which was excellent but you know what added to the excellence, eating it while listening to Haim. Furthermore, they played Style by Taylor Swift as I snagged a bite of that scrumptious steak from my bestie. Incredible food all around and a playlist that will satisfy any pop lovin' gay!
We've been to Chapman's many times, and I'd say it's
We've been to Chapman's many times, and I'd say it's usually a 5 star experience but there have also been a few misses over the years. Last night, here was the breakdown: 1. General TSOs cauliflower: amazing as always 5/5 2. Scallop salad -scallop was delicious, good dressing, I thought way too much mint 4/5 3. Fried chicken meal - so delicious! Giant! Order it!! 5/5 4. Halibut - disappointing- portion size was small and the fish itself was either overcooked or maybe just cooked in a way I didn't like. Would not recommend. 3/5 Our server was a delight and the beet cocktail was very interesting- probably one of the most unique cocktails I've had. She also brought us a small free dessert as a surprise after we said we were pretty full but my husband was still eyeing the dessert menu. That was really sweet. Thanks It's an expensive meal - I think more so than even a year ago. If they can make everything as delicious as that chicken, then I'd say it's 100% worth the price. Beautiful space but you are pretty close to other diners.
The food was amazing! Highly conceptualized and delicious.
The service was fantastic and the ambiance was so cute! Well worth the price for the tasting menu.
All I can say about Chapman's is WOW.
I have yet to try anything that wasn't incredibly delicious. I had a mushroom pasta and and a dessert that mimicked a lemon meringue pie (with a twist). Chapman's is as beautiful as it's delicious--this place was clearly designed by someone with impeccable taste. The green exterior is somehow both trendy and timeless, and the interior has retro (yet classy) wallpaper that makes diners feel like they've been transported into a different world. The service is top-notch, with servers who are both friendly and knowledgeable, but down-to-earth considering how high-end Chapman's seems to be. They are incredibly accommodating of any and all dietary restrictions as well!
Is Chapman's worth the hype? .
. . 5 STARS: General Tso's Cauliflower $16, this had so much flavor, I was scooping up the remnants to flavor the other dishes. Beef Fat Fries $9, no notes. LIFE CHANGING! Chapman's Mojito- cachaça rum, pisco, mint, shish, lime, soda $13 . . . Worth every penny (no mint leaves in the cocktail but excellent mint flavor). How did they do that? Witchcraft. * Wish I would've ordered- Coordinated Colors- vodka, pimm's, campari, coconut sumac syrup, pineapple, lime $15 So where does Chapman's fall short? Build Your Own Bánh Xèo - $21 (not good) turmeric pancake (small portion), mortadella, lime, herbs, sriracha, hoisin. This just doesn't work. Guided by Mushroom "Dino Nuggies" - $16, I absolutely love mushrooms and this dish was not good. We ordered a mochi cake that was just okay. The ice cream was a stand-out. Luckily, my friend and I had a late lunch, so we were able to save money by not ordering a very expensive entree. (Steak $85, Lamb $48, Fried Chicken $42) Service- The host and the food runner were great! The bartenders were not very friendly at all. Maybe upset that we didn't order more? They charge a 3% Employee Wellness Charge. I would return for fries and cocktails.

2.5/5 Hmmm where to begin... Came here for my husband's birthday to try the new April menu. I was told we would be "hooked up" for my husbands birthday when asked if we were celebrating anything special - usually that means a discounted dessert or drink at other restaurants, but that never happened. I don't expect anything from restaurants, but to be told that we would be "hooked up" and "treated nicely" by multiple people when we are paying a decent amount of money was... interesting. For drinks we ordered the colored something and a popcorn style cocktail (I don't remember the names as the new drink menu is not up on their website). I don't like sweet cocktails, but the popcorn drink tasted like it was not properly mixed, with all of the flavor at the bottom and the alcohol was more forward on the palate. We then switched to wine and beer. For appetizers we had the General Tso's cauliflower (always delicious and a menu staple) and the mushroom "Dino nuggies" (just fine). For dinner, my husband ordered the fried chicken which was very good. I wish the kimchi had a stronger gochujang flavor because it was bland in comparison to the other sides. I ordered the Radiatori a la Confit Rabbit & Pesto and it was very dry. I'm not sure how a confit rabbit can be dry? But it was very much lacking and I had to drink a lot of water. The pepitas, which both looked and tasted like edamame (??? So were they even pepitas????), were not needed in this dish either and did not really do anything for flavor. I liked the addition of nori, i found that to be very unique. For dessert, my husband and I had the mochi cake which was delicious. We also ordered the brandy Alexander which was sub-par. I would eat at other places before coming back to Chapman's.
Phenomenal meal and service .
Very solid spot that makes you want to Yelp . Don't skip the desserts !
We tried it again after our previous tasteless experience
We tried it again after our previous tasteless experience hoping it had improved. It didn't. Beyond me how this place gets the recognition it does...to be fair, the cocktails are very good, the place is pretty, the bar food was tasteless - plus $18 for a beet cut up in four pieces with farro you can get at Trader Joe's - and you can't have the regular menu at the bar (not that you would want it) That's it. Never again. Left and went to Agni for a wonderful meal at the bar!
One of our favorite dinner spots
This restaurant is on our list of where to take friends from out of town. Inventive menu and cocktails. Delicious Thai food with some American options. Not inexpensive but great value. We will be returning!
Delightful is a understatement 😊
Probably the most creative meal that I have had in Columbus Ohio! As a die hard foodie this brought me new hope for the Columbus foodie scene, had a multi course meal that had me moaning for the next bite to cross my palate! My taste buds were dancing with each morsel! Reservations are a bear to get, yet the bar has frequent open seats, and well worth the adventure to visit.
Inconsistent
We have visited this restaurant twice, the second time being during the holidays where they are only serving a prix fixe menu. We were looking forward to the second visit and seeing what they had to offer. Overall the food was good, but we found it to be inconsistent, meaning that one menu item was outstanding and another just Ok. For example, the baked scallop prepared with green onion and peanuts was fantastic. As was the radicchio pasta. The matzo ball soup was bland and lacked flavor. The Japenese milk bread tasted like thick wonder bread toast and was fine, but putting roe on top of it felt unnecessary and pretentious. We also found the menu to be lacking any kind of coherence or theme. For the main, I ordered a veggie burger. I was surprised when the food came that it had fries (made in beef fat) and not the substitute fingerling potatoes. I had to ask the server if they had done the fries with something else and she said no, it was beef fat and that I had said that was Ok. I corrected her and said I did not say that. Literally just as we were sitting down she asked about dietary restrictions and I said fish and poultry only, and I can’t have those fries made in beef fat. When she took our order I said the veggie version of the burger and the fingerlings. I was irritated that she argued with me and I gave her an out and said there was clearly a miscommunication. But this came on top of lackadaisical service where they got our drink orders wrong (who had cocktails and who had the dinner pairing) and then we had to ask for them to deliver the subsequent wine pairings with the courses a few times. Inconsistent service to go with the inconsistent food. You can’t have a good restaurant with good food if the front of the house is not executing. This will hold this spot back in Columbus. Dropping $350 on dinner for two must come with excellent service. The good food is not enough.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
