Shocking taste
We ordered the mango and pistachio desserts, the mango was hard to shew and it wasn’t sweet, its taste was less than the average. Talking about the pistachio, it was terrible, the tastes and the textures were not aligned, i even shew some salt pieces, the after taste of the pistachio dessert was terrible, i honestly without any exaggeration wanted to vomit. Cedric grolet is overrated!
Be the first to ReplyToo long queue for croissant
Another example what tourist madness can do ..... The image of this boulangerie is bigger tan the products and value. Yes, the pastry, especially the croissants are delicious, no doubt about that, but is it worth to wait 30 minutes in the queue and then pay 5 EUR for croissant? I am not sure...
Be the first to ReplyGreat presentation but vastly overpriced and not worth queuing
I was intrigued by the long queue of people waiting for what I was told the best patisserie in Paris. So, I pitched up at 08.40 thinking there would be a small queue. Little did I know that the shop did not open until 09.00. I waited in the queue with an Australian couple from Sydney until 09.00 and then a further 20 minutes until I was served. I wanted to buy four croissants, 2 flans and three pastries. the price came to over EUR140....so I reduced the order by taking two pastries away so the bill came to EUR74. Most expensive patisserie I had ever been to! Th croissants and the flans were OK, the myrtle tart was fabulous but at EUR34 was overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyTea was amazing!
Yes, you do have to queue prior to getting in on the street. The door man did make it a party and was very entertaining feeling like you were part of an exclusive club event. We went for tea and it was exquisite. I can’t speak to breakfast, but the array of sweet treats for tea time stole the show!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed not worth the time or price.
Ordered the St Honoré which had a burnt flavour in the feuilleté and caramel. I sent a private email but they assured me in their response the cake was properly made to the recipe. I doubt the over baked feuilleté was intentional but in any case, I would not recommend the St Honoré of Cedric Grolet. Croissants were good but not worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyClick and Collect
I went to pick up an order, something that is usually impersonal and boring, but that was not the case this time. Of course, the pastries and the other things I ordered are superior to almost any other place, but the attention I received from the door to the inside and the options I was presented with even though it was click and collect. They were at a very high level, thank you.
