Service: People are rude.
Coat check requires you to check in your coat. I don't think anyone can require you to check your belongings. ambiance is good. food is okay.

The main server Christian offered to purchase my friend and me drinks when we walked in (as seen in this video). He then proceeded to sexually assault the two of us -- groping us on our butts and touching the two of us around private areas. The more we protested, the more the staff looked away -- the female hostesses and the server who was shorter with a mustache both told us to "chill out, honey." They all looked away from us as we begged for help from him -- he is married with a young daughter who is on his screensaver. He ordered more and more shots for himself, getting belligerently drunk; and by the end of the night, the restaurant gave us Christian's bill. We said we would not pay because we did not order anything at all -- Christian accosted us and offered us shots that he instead took; but the restaurant accused us of stealing -- while Christian was drunk and nowhere to be found. The restaurant belittled the two of us when we reported the assault, and they pushed us out. I give this place one star when I wish to give it zero. I will be filing a police report. No woman should feel this unsafe/uncomfortable when PAYING their own money.
Be the first to ReplyUltra chic setting, gourmet menu and great service.
It is the perfect place for a business meeting, social get together and /or a special date night.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food Excelente service And great ambiance.
Beautiful place.I love casa Cruz. Private Club
Be the first to ReplyHonestly the food was underwhelming.
I don't think this experience as a whole was worth the hype.
Be the first to ReplyThe most amazing place with the most amazing staff! Feels
The most amazing place with the most amazing staff! Feels like home every time I go. Such a fun vibe with the most fun people. 10/10 bar tenders, love them with my whole heart! Soriano, Camillo, and everyone there are seriously the best.
Be the first to ReplyI would give 5 stars only because of the waiter.
He was very kind but after dinner we decided to have drinks at the bar and when I ordered a mocktail the bartender rolled his eyes at me. So if you don't drink alcohol don't go to this place because you are gonna get judged.
Be the first to Replyterrible food, service, management.
.. would never go back! made the reservation a month in advance advance & ended getting a table in the patio ...
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give this place 0 stars I would.
The 1 star is only for the ambiance and nothing else because the décor and aesthetic of the entire place is stunning. I came here on Saturday night with a reservation for 2. We were seated on the terrace and it was pouring out. The terrace is covered with what looks like a circus tent- it was just an awful eyesore, so we asked to be seated in the dining room, but was told we only had about an hour for our meal because there were other reservations in that room. Turns out- we never saw any other reservation after us. We got setup in the dining room and after ordering drinks, we were told we had to move again because the way the room was setup didn't "flow" apparently. Mind you- no one was seated near us, the only people in the room with us were against the back wall. They moved us to the corner of the room against the back wall so that the entire room was empty except for all 4 tables that were filled with customers seated next to each other cramped against the back wall- very strange. Not only that, but we had 5 different waiters and each one was ruder than the next. We ordered our food and it was just very average. The portions were huge so we asked if we can take the leftovers home and they said it was no problem. After our meal, a different waiter told us they didn't have any more take out containers so we couldn't take anything to go (later after reading some of these reviews, it's clear the restaurant told others that they have a no take home leftover policy- which is just bizarre that they lied to us about that). Another thing to add is that the table next to us ordered steak and when they asked for a steak knife, the waiter told them they didn't have any. I really wanted to love this place, and had it not been for my awful experience (honestly my worst experience at any restaurant ever), I would have loved to come back here for drinks only. It is truly a beautiful place, but I will never step foot in this restaurant again. We left the restaurant with the ICK and I've never felt so weirded out after a meal in my entire life.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful space.
There is no denying the pleasing interior design of this townhouse. I would say it's worth it to maybe stop by for one expensive drink and an Insta snap. (Beware that flashes are not allowed.) As far as crowd, food, and everything else, I would definitely not return. The experience in a nutshell: They tried to sit us on the sixth floor, which is a tented outdoor space with heaters, and which other Yelp reviewers said to steer clear of. Not suitable for a November night. We waited an hour for a table in one of the regular dining rooms. The food was nothing to write home about, especially for the prices. Steak tartare was way too cold to even taste any flavor, and it almost seemed like they tried to hide the small portion by throwing in lots of potato sticks around the meat. And, by potato sticks, I mean something you would grab with the pretzels at a 7 Eleven! The bronzino was adequate, nothing special. The soufflés were actually quite good, the cheese soufflé being stand out. The dessert soufflé was yummy, as well, but the sauce for the center was not hot enough and lumpy. Also, servers didn't seem instructed on how to serve soufflé properly. The staff was hit or miss. Two of the hosts were obnoxious, especially with our not wanting to sit on the sixth floor. We did realize that the Italian hostess may have been unintentionally rude, since she didn't have a full grasp of the English language and kept using the word "finally" in her sentences. Hearing, "So, you're finally ready", in a condescending tone after we had been waiting an hour for dinner, is not what anyone wants to hear before they're about to pay five star prices for something that is mediocre at best. The rest of the staff was nice enough, especially the other female hostess. Now, let's get to the scene. The DJ in the bar area was ok. Average music for an average crowd. People were dancing. The music was at a nice volume so people could still talk. The people who stood out the most were the two sugar daddy's (one with a gut and comb over) who had just met their sugar babies. My group was seated next to them, and we couldn't help but be amused when the server asked the girls to see their ID's before pouring them glasses of champagne.
Be the first to ReplyThis place looks amazing but the racket they play about
This place looks amazing but the racket they play about deceiving people about the type of meat they sell as wagu is crazy it's not wagu. I don't mind Paying a premium for anything as long as I get what's promised and asked for .the service is ok the food was ok nothing crazy and definitely not wagu as advertised and then they gave me a bill for $140 for two glasses of champagne with out telling me it's $70 a glasses but did not forget to mention the cost of the waggle steak, which I was completely OK with.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a joke!We were sent to the six floor.
A tented outdoor terrace in February. The spill over terrace...What is wrong with the other 4 floors ????I guess I'm not special enough for Casa Cruz ??? The Last time I checked, I'm an Emmy Award winning film producer.... So Casa can F off !!!! Hype and attitude is unacceptable... bye bye
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to love Casa Cruz, and while the vibe
I really wanted to love Casa Cruz, and while the vibe matched my expectations, the food simply fell short. While everything sounded great on paper, the blackened chicken was dry, the steak was lacking flavor, and the corn had a super weird grainy texture. I kept having to add salt and pepper, which is weird at that price point and in that atmosphere, where you would expect the food to be great quality coming out of the kitchen. However, the drinks here were superb, and the vibe felt very exclusive Upper East Side. And the service was impeccable; even the waitstaff who offered to take a photo for us was so kind and went above and beyond.I would come back in a heartbeat for drinks again on a weekend. But I just don't think I'd waste the money on dinner here again.
Be the first to ReplyThe hype behind this place on social media should be left
The hype behind this place on social media should be left on social media. The reality of Casa Cruz is disappointing to say the least. It's funny that to make a reservation on Resy the "prime times" were booked but when we scored a last minute ressy upon entering we were the only table in the in one dinning area. The host staff is very friendly when you walk in; but that's where the smiles stop. The wait staff is pretentious and not friendly. We ordered lobster , steak and caviar as an appetizer; not low end choices by any means. The steak was over cooked as was the lobster; caviar perfect. The atmosphere here is very sexy which is the best thing Casa Cruz has to offer. Go for a drink but save your $ on the food.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful ambience, tasty (but extremely expensive)
Beautiful ambience, tasty (but extremely expensive) cocktails, and decent food. Our party was split on whether or not we enjoyed Casa Cruz. Cocktails are ~$28 dollars (which is probably 50% pricier than most restaurants / cocktail bars in NYC) and were good, but nothing out of this world. We had the crudo (fantastic, but small of course), foie gras (can't speak to it because I didn't have it), risotto (not great), Brussel sprouts (good; but hard to mess up), picanha steak, and chicken. 3 of us had the steak, and not one of the steaks was served the way we requested. Also, mine was a bit cold, so had obviously been sitting around. Would I go back? No. At ~$200 per person, there's better places to go in Manhattan for good steak and cocktails, and probably a bit less expensive. The restaurant is gorgeous though, and that's what you're paying for.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is excellent.
The drinks are good but extremely overpriced. Martinis are $27 which is insane, even for NYC. The pastas are all delicious but I highly suggest the Orchietta. It's a cool vibe inside the restaurant (esp if you like to take pics).
Be the first to ReplyThis place is so pretentious and obnoxious.
They had the audacity to charge my Resy account $100 for canceling the day before we were supposed to eat there. With all the restaurants in New York City, you would think that they would like to be customer friendly. Clearly, I have zero intent of wasting my time with such obnoxious arrogant conceited restaurant owners. Casa Cruz you should be ashamed of yourself. Rob S
Be the first to ReplyOne of the most disappointing restaurant experiences in NYC
One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences in NYC ever. The meal started with a foie gras that did not say it is pate- for $42, then it went from bad to worse with a bucket of soup that they call pasta and some other inedible slop that I wouldn't feed to my cats. P.S.Gorgeous interior/exterior.
Be the first to ReplyWe were seated on the top floor.
It was a space with a tented roof, I think it would have been nice for a summer day but this space should really be closed down for the winter. We ordered some appetizers along with the wagyu entree, the lemon orchiette and a side of corn. Everything was fine but nothing amazing or stand out to me. We started with cocktails and asked for glasses of wine with our main course. When we asked the price we were told it was "$25 or $26 a glass" which we were okay with. Later our bill showed that this wine (which was the only red glass option the waiter said they offered) was actually $34 a glass.
Be the first to ReplyIt seems that most of the reviewers pretty much nailed it
It seems that most of the reviewers pretty much nailed it on the head. The best part of Casa Cruz is the interior design. It's a stunning space, and the food is pretty solid-ish. I'm not going to mention how overpriced everything is, because let's face it. We all knew the pricing before going there. No big surprise that you'll be shelling out some money for the experience. The service is indeed stiff and oddly inexperienced at the same time. I found myself having to ask for cocktails and water instead of being offered. As my table was ordering pretty much one of everything on the menu, the server kept cutting us off. Maybe he thought we needed to order less? But we DID eat it all so????The bottom line is, would I go again? Nope. There are so many other restaurants in the city that offer a better experience. This one's in the 'try once' category.
