Be the first to ReplyHoly mid.
Go to starbucks and get your dessert there instead for gods sake. We got an assortments of cake, was expecting something much more from a restaurant that claims to have been honing in their recipes since 1927. It's currently 2024. 97 years and starbucks is beating you in your own game. Grow up Carette. Put some effort into your craft!

The hot chocolate and the whipped cream are pretty delicious, as well as the little puff things that come with the hot chocolate. Minus 1 star for the price point - it is quite expensive - you don't get that much hot chocolate and also the tea sandwiches were pretty tiny. They tasted good but not much inside them and expensive for such a small little half sandwich.

This place has no shortage of TikTok fandom, and I'm so glad I was able to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM on a weekday, and there was already a pretty long line! I'd say we waited maybe about 20 minutes or so, which isn't too bad. Carette is such a cute cafe with TONS of options when it comes to food. I was seriously overwhelmed with what I should get because everything sounds so good. I ended up getting a coffee, as well as the club sandwich, which comes in a finger sandwich format and is plated so thoughtfully. I got the Parisien "Duo" which I thought was flavorful yet light. We ended our meal with the Mont Blanc and mini raspberry tarts -- such a delicious and decadent way to end the meal!

Busy cafe not far from the Eiffel tower, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Well staffed but service can be slow at times as they really do get busy. Come here for the hot chocolate (which they're social media famous for), and the decent macarons and crepes. The rest of the food (at least as far as we tried) was honestly not very good. The soupe d'oignon is better at either of the neighboring restaurants next door. Tasted not as fresh, both in terms of the broth and the cheese. Their veggie soup was bland as well. Just felt like the savory food isn't made with love or care, but just pumped out. Generally pricey menu. Yes it's in a touristy area, but either restaurant next door offers pretty much the same food options for half the price. If we were to return, I'd only really get the hot chocolate, as it tastes top notch and is an experience.

Stopped by here on the recommendation of a new friend in Paris. It was in a busy and mildly touristy area so we weren't expecting much. So let me tell you that the hot chocolate here will haunt me forever as one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life. It's not fair that it can only be had in a patisserie 5671 miles from my home. It warmed me and elevated my mood in ways that should be studied by science. I suspect that it could solve the mental health crisis unfolding all over the world. We tried the hot chocolate in several other places in Paris prior to leaving, and all were good. But this was the best. Everything we had here was good by the way. But the chocolate is the star of the show. Go for that. Just know that you will be thinking about it forever.

A cup of liquid chocolate is one of those treats that sounds better in theory than in reality. It was rich and creamy, and personally enjoyed more as a dipping sauce for some fantastic French bread than a beverage. The scrambled eggs were a bit salty and didn't impress much.

This is a great pastries place for my daughter to have dessert, coffee or chocolate after a cold day in January taking pictures of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on the platform of Parvis Des Libertee et des Droits. It's about 3 minutes walk from there. There are quite a few of these Carette restaurants around, but this one seems to be the most crowded one because it's close the place you can see the Eiffel Tower and next to many coffeeshops. The chocolate in here my daughter said it's the best anywhere but she actually like the atmosphere here. Very young and very friendly IMO. The kids feel right at home. The prices are quite reasonable on some and more expensive on other. 12 euro for a hot chocolate that my daughter is raving about? a little too much for my taste. There are quite many little pastries and cakes desserts, they also make sandwiches many people enjoy. We came here twice because my daughter liked it. The waiters here are quite friendly, attentive and open, everyone seems to love them. I liked them too. I only have coffee came with little cookies and my daughter tried anything she liked, crepes, cake, coffee. My wife ordered a hot and spicy drink which I liked too, especially in the cold. The first one was great, the second time was short of liquor as she claimed. So it wasn't consistent. Anyhow, it's a great place to sit and talk about the day, because it's quite noisy in here. You can talk and laugh as loud as you want and you won't bother anyone at all, that's the great thing about this coffeeshop. Quite popular I heard. I'm sure if we visit Paris again, my daughter will drag us here again. Yes, we all liked it, and we would follow her.

The atmosphere is very nice. Our waitress spoke english. It was difficult to decide what to eat but we had quiche and herbal tea. My friends had pastries as well. I recommend this place if you are ever in the area. They take American Express
Be the first to ReplyI've always wanted to try Carette.
I arrived at 9am and the place was pretty empty. Mind you, this was on a rainy day in mid January. Ordered their famous hot chocolate, which was very good.. but too rich, so I only had 1 cup. Their scrambled eggs were OK... just OK. I'm happy about my experience.. but wouldn't come back again.
Be the first to ReplyGo early, like before 10am.
Only had the breakfast which was delicious and the pasteries look amazing

Delicious croque madame and great location at Trocadero for a good view of the Eiffel Tower. Stopped here on a layover with luggage and the servers were very kind to help find us a table with enough room. One of my favorite cafes in Paris!
Be the first to ReplyPrepared for the long tourists line! Must try hot chocolate.
Tips: Get the combo for hot chocolate, a juice, a croissant and some toast for 20 euros as opposed to one cup of hot chocolate for 11 euros. The hot chocolate was sooo good by itself without the cream. Cream was very good too. Croissants and chocolate croissants are average. I would return to have the hot chocolate again when I'm in Paris!

I first discovered Carette years ago from their very small Montmartre location and immediately fell in love. I feel like a girl never forgets her first gift of fresh macaroons flown straight in from France, mine were Ladurée - many many moons ago when Ladurée did not exists in the states. Each time I visit Paris I try more and more macaroons but Carette remain my favorite among the endless options and larger more famous stores. This past trip I decided I'd make it into a little hot chocolate tour as well, having hot cocoas from all of the places. I made it to 3 ;) 2 of which I'd had before but realized I don't know that I'd ever had Carette's. I trained over early Monday morning after brekke to secure a box of macaroons to bring home to my sons girlfriend. I wanted her to have options :) and to be able to enjoy some of my favorites.I built her a box at the counter and then secured a table to enjoy a hot chocolate and a couple of macaroons there. My hot cocoa was great but I think my favorite remains the sit down option at Angelina if you don't mind waiting for a table, or even perhaps their takeaway option.Service was good and I'm not exactly sure what it is about their macaroons that make them consistently my favorite year in and year out but they simply are. When I arrived home, my sons gf and I enjoyed coffee and had a little taste test with the options I brought home and I still very much always vote for Carette, don't get me wrong I love all macaroons so don't pass up the other lovely places but I highly recommend these. This location is also perfect! Literally steps from the metro which I'm sure you'll be riding everywhere if you're doing Paris right.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely worth the hype.
Waited in line for 10-15 minutes. Served quickly. Space is tight inside and a bit stuffy so I would get a table outside if possible. Pastries and hot chocolate were delicious. I'm sure other places serve just as tasty hot chocolate but would recommend if it's your first time in Paris

The location and familiarity of this landmark location are the reason this place is popular. The pastries are lovely, but $27 Eu for a basic chicken sandwich was ridiculous and the sandwich was nothing to remember. Try the hot chocolate for fun, but skip lunch- it is grossly over priced. Many other beautiful and delicious options with more reasonable prices all around the area.

Kind of over rated! We sat inside and it smelt like rotten milk or vomit. The hot coco was okay. I would save your time and money and go to Angela's!

About a 15 to 20 minute wait early in the morning for people clamoring to eat breakfast, get some yummy pastries and drink their delicious hot chocolate. The croissant was nice and flaky. Paired that with the bold and flavorful hot chocolate was heaven on earth. The hot chocolate was for real good! Loved dipping my croissant in the hot chocolate!
Be the first to ReplyThis was my last meal in Paris, and it was amazing.
I had the hot chocolate, which was so delicious! I didn't want to eat anything too heavy, so I got the scrambled eggs with mushrooms. These were the best scrambled eggs I have ever had! It also came with a yummy salad with a wonderful dressing. My waitress was very sweet, too!
Be the first to ReplyI highly recommend their hot chocolate (Chocolat Carette).
If you like dark chocolate like me, it's a 15/10. I didn't really like their finger sandwiches specifically the Saumon Fumé. The Salade Oeuf was alright. The French Onion Soup was also bomb.

Extremely busy at any given day or night when I walk past this place in Trocadéro (Paris). Settled here for post dinner/dessert. Well worth it. We had the pistachio cake, crepes chocolate with Chantilly cream, and hot chocolate. Will return for other sweet morsels. Service was good.
Be the first to Replyvery good hot chocolate but definitely filling and you
very good hot chocolate but definitely filling and you could get one cup and share w 3 people unless your a big hot chocolate fan and love super sweet things. the whipped cream is also very very good i probably ate half of it just alone w my spoon so that says something. for my breakfast i got the carette buffet which came with toast and i got blueberry jam and then a chocolate croissant, omelette and orange juice. i don't know if it's a thing in paris to not heat up croissants but that thing needed to be and needed more chocolate in the middle. our service wasn't the best because our waitress took forever to come to our table and when she did she wasn't the nicest but overall I did enjoy our food and hot chocolate and would come back. for reference we tried angelina's hot chocolate too & this one is definitely way better and worth the hype
Be the first to ReplyAvoid this place like the plague.
The view of the effiel tower? If you count the very tiptop that you can maybe see from a few outside tables then I guess yes? But that's like saying I can see a bit of Santa Monica Beach from the 10 freeway so it's an ocean view. Wheoever said its effiel tower view must be blind. The food is overpriced and average. The service slow and barely trying. And barely is being very nice. Server showed up took our order and we didn't see him again. Mind you this place is very busy and there are a lot of people working and running around. The workers spend more time talking to themselves then the actual customers. I'm not sure where the positive reviews come from? I get that the service and expectations are different then say in other countries. HOWEVER, when the staff spend more time talking to themselves rather then the customers that's where I draw the line. There has to be better places in town to eat. This place barely tries and it shows. Pathetic.

Hot Chocolate with whipped cream is incredibly rich and tasty. The rest of the menu is average. Trocadéro location fairly average atmosphere. Very expensive for the offerings.
