I hate giving bad reviews but $15 breakfast sandwich was inedible. Old bread. Torched eggs. Proud of the tater tots which are fried mashed potatoes and were cold. Space looks great and coffee is good but man the Denver Cafe food scene is bad.
Be the first to ReplySuch a great little snack during happy hour.
My husband went for work and brought me home a Cuban and the burratta plate. Wow the buratta was so creamy and the tomatoes were excellent. The bread was okay but I loved the olives. So much flavor!! The sandwich was soo good. The flavors were good but the cheese was perfectly melted. The best part we're those tator tots. I could have eaten an entire box of them.

Haven't had a bad experience here yet, everybody working is always pleasant and I've only gotten food but it is delicious. I like the concept of coffee and bar, something for every time of day. The loaded tots is so good. I need to try the donut place next door next

We loved this place!! We brunch hard & were looking for a place close to Ball before the Avs game. I'm usually skeptical about getting bloody Mary's out anymore because they typically just aren't great. However, this one was flavorful! And they added mini...donuts? On top. The pancake tacos were hearty and 3 is definitely plenty. I subbed the chorizo for avocado. My husband had the Haswhich with the side of gravy & he also said it was dense. Their kombucha was on point too. We can't wait to come back again!

Carbon Cafe is AMAZING! The space is surprisingly large for its location on Platte Street - there's a whole back room filled with spacious tables and cozy seating. The baristas and waiters here are very friendly and give great recommendations! You definitely have to try the tots - I've had them plain as well as baked and loaded, and you really can't go wrong with either. The chicken and waffles are also a winner - love the sweet and spicy combo. Carbon Cafe is great for a weekend brunch or a weekday remote work spot - just keep in mind it'll be busier on weekends! The only negative I can come up with is that everything is a little pricey, but for the uniqueness and quality of what you get here, I'll pay a little more than I'm used to.
Be the first to ReplyGreat brunch spot.
Parking is impossible and I am not a gluten free or vegan so I felt my choices to be limited. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffles were gluten free so I picked at them and chicken was just ok. Mimosas weee $8 and the service was great so I would definitely gonna I for the coffee bar!

Great for work and drinks with a home-y setting. Food is subpar though.
Be the first to ReplyCoffee is great! Atmosphere and vibe is where it's at.
Visited this cute little shop twice while visiting town. Well done Carbon! Oh and the breakfast burrito was great definitely shareable.

Made FROM SCRATCH tater tots (loaded!) Were SO good. And the cinnamon roll with homemade cream cheese frosting was BOMB. Hot and fresh A+++ here

YUM!! My husband and I came here with our 2 kids for breakfast. We sat inside and loved the atmosphere and vibe. They played great music and were streaming the office with CC. My husband got the chorizo smothered burrito which was massive and delicious. He doesn't always love green chile, but it was great on this burrito. I got the wake & bake bowl which was more basic and a little flavor-lacking, but still good with some Cholula. Our son got the breakfast sandwich which he enjoyed. The tots came on the side of the bowl and sandwich and they were SO tasty. We also ordered donuts from next door. Our son has a peanut allergy and we really appreciated that one of the employees from next door came over and assured us there was minimal chance of contamination with the donuts. My husband is a donut snob, but he LOVED his Feed My Habit donut. Can't say enough good things about our experience. We'll definitely be back!

I had this place on my list for a while and it's really cute. The staff is super friendly here! The display is great and they change their variety of donuts by the day. I ordered next door at habit and they made my coffee here.Everything was excellent!!! Delicious coffee. Great vibes and some outdoor seating as well!
Be the first to ReplyPrett cool place to have brunch and a drink.
I had the chicken and waffles which were fantastic. Service was very good and I would recommend this place to small parties less than 4. The eating area is a little hectic and we were seated at two lounge chairs on the wall with an end table as our table. Cool vibe but hard to eat in those chairs and leaning over a small end table. Next time I will probably get the food Togo.
Be the first to ReplyI had a very unpleasant experience today at Carbon.
I had ordered food and coffee for myself and my friend. We were planning to make it a working breakfast. I had my service dog with me, lying down on the floor. He wasn't barking, jumping, or annoying anyone. He's a trained service animal. One of the employees, who I believe was the manager, confronted me about my dog. He was wearing a long sleeves shirt and jeans. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. He told me (in a loud tone of voice) that dogs are not allowed in the back area. I told him that he was a service dog. That wasn't enough for him. He then asked me what does he do. Sure, no problem - I told him what function the dog does for me. It wasn't enough for him. He then continued to ask more specific questions about the dog and my condition. He was very loud; everyone was staring at me. I felt that he was putting me on the spot, and it felt very anxiety-inducing. I even had to say what condition I had because he wouldn't stop asking. According to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) -- What questions can a covered entity's employees ask to determine if a dog is a service animal? A: In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog, require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person's disability.Clearly, he violated this rule. He's asking questions that are outside of what can be asked and putting my medical condition/privacy exposed to the public. Additionally, question four of ADA says: If someone's dog calms them when having an anxiety attack, does this qualify it as a service animal? A: It depends. The ADA makes a distinction between psychiatric service animals and emotional support animals. If the dog has been trained to sense that an anxiety attack is about to happen and take a specific action to help avoid the attack or lessen its impact, that would qualify as a service animal. However, if the dog's mere presence provides comfort, that would not be considered a service animal under the ADA.I told him that my dog is a psychiatric service animal, which he then said that he didn't qualify as a service animal. He just kept going. Honestly, it made me feel uncomfortable because of the way he was talking to me and making put my medical conditions out in public. We left - and honestly, it ruined my morning, and I had lost my appetite. I will not be coming back. Hopefully, this review will help other people with Service Animals and hope they choose to go somewhere else where they're not going to be disrespected. I told one of the staff what had happened. I left, and no one apologized. I will not be coming back. Here is the PDF for reference in case Carbon wants to include this as part of their training. Yum!!! Stopped in for a quick cocktail and it was delicious! The place is small but super cute, I would love to try all of the food sometime as it looked and sounded delicious. We had the Espresso Martini and the Dirty After Dark and both were super tasty! We also had the Espresso Yo' Self doughnut injected with bourbon and it was awesome. Not sure if the booze mattered but it was fun and I loved the doughnut which paired perfectly with the drinks. Can't wait to go back and try more. Super cute and fun joint.
Be the first to ReplyMy first time visiting and unfortunately the last.
Service was decent but the food was just not eatable. Their smothered chorizo burrito came as it had been reheated, the chili and cheese was cooked in to the plate as tho it was microwaved, the tortilla was dry and stale. The potatoes and eggs unseasoned, and it literally came with one bite of chorizo. I also ordered chicken and waffles and it was shockingly the worse I've ever tasted and not ate because it was not consumable, the chicken was undercooked, raw in areas, and tasted like a livestock of chicken smell, the waffles were soggy as tho someone chewed it before it was served it was so gross. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and I was only able to take one sip, it tasted like black pepper water in ice. It is very rare to encounter such horrible food with high ratings, and that is why I write this. We are all in pursuit of great or at least decent food but Carbon cafe and bar just did not have that on my visit.

Carbon might be my new favorite bar AND coffee bar!My husband and I decided to stop in here on a Friday night when we couldn't get into another more crowded bar without waiting an hour. We had been here once before but it had been years, so we weren't sure what to expect. But we were so pleasantly surprised with everything about Carbon! It wasn't too busy when we stepped inside, and the bartender immediately greeted us and told us how to order at the bar. We were able to order happy hour drinks - my husband got the Tangerine Cream Ale, along with a draft cocktail, and I got a draft cocktail that tasted like a White Russian - yum!We sat in the little nook area in the back and played Jenga before ordered another drink - an espresso martini for me - and we also ordered seitan bites. That seitan was perfect flavored and crispy. We were so impressed with it!Now, I want to come check out this place in the mornings when their coffee bar is in full swing, because this spot is truly so cozy with friendly service and great food & drinks!
