Canoe Atlanta Reviews from The Last Year

The service was incredible by our server, Kersey, when we visited. The food was unique and delicious - from the salmon and kangaroo appetizers, to the rabbit and veal entrees, everything was fresh and well prepared. We sat on the patio which was clean and had an amazing view of the river. We noticed people enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail out in the yard seating, so don't be intimidated by a wait! We highly recommend Canoe for a nice date night and also recommend requesting Kersey's section if he's working!

Starting with a cocktail in the garden riverside, our evening at Canoe was delightful! The peppercorn crusted kangaroo appetizer was a perfect medium rare, tender and flavorful and balanced with the mushroom pate and crispy puff pastry. My braised rabbit was delicious with the accompanying large bacon-cabbage ravioli. Her lamb sirloin with goat cheese bread pudding and minted peas was a creative and flavorful combination. Our server Chris was attentive without being intrusive and made good recommendations, especially with his suggested wine pairing with the rabbit. The dining room with its expansive views of the gardens outside was first class, if a little noisy as it filled up on a Monday night. Looking forward to our next visit
This restaurant is gorgeous - the inside of the restaurant
This restaurant is gorgeous - the inside of the restaurant is very nice and what you might expect for a white table cloth dining experience. Their patio, or shall I say backyard, is really what blew me away. Beautiful gardens directly on the river with an awesome waterfront bar! We ate at the bar outside (first come, first serve). Drinks were good, but their outdoor bar menu was somewhat limited (just a couple of options for wine, beer, and cocktails). It did take some time for our drinks as they ran out of glasses and was waiting for the kitchen to restock them. For our appetizers, we enjoyed the beet salad and the kangaroo. Never had kangaroo before - very interesting! For dinner, we shared the duck breast and their burger. Burger, fries, and duck were all great! All in all, an awesome spot for a date night or just a beautiful place to grab a nice meal.
Super romantic ambiance and food is delicious.
One of my go to restaurants for guests when they visit from out of town.

Leaving this 5 star review here as a place holder so I remember to write a more detailed review. Long story will come at some point. But in short- the best customer service truly that I have experience in decades. Frank was a delightful server . Amanda, one of the managers made sure we were taken care of after a delay in getting our table. Don't forget to get the popcorn dessert and the banana rum ice cream that comes with the almond sphere are * chefs kiss* More to come !
Perfect lunch with beautiful views
My friend and I had an amazing lunch. Our table was by the windows with beautiful views of the river. Our waitress was attentive and gave a great wine recommendation. The food came out quickly. The cod was delicious, especially the caper butter! We also enjoyed dessert. Definitely recommend exploring outside a bit after your meal!
I wouldn't recommend for a large party or if you want to
I wouldn't recommend for a large party or if you want to make arrangements with the manager. The hostess definitely was definitely not allowing me to speak to a manager. Sometimes as a muslim its hard to make reservations for Eid because it depends on the lunar calendar but Atlanta will be flooded with muslims trying to each brunch on Wednesday.
It was good.
The hype from other locals led me to believe it was great. We drove an hr to get there. Not worth all that. If you're in the area, would recommend. Just don't go out of your way or expect great, then you'll come away pleased with Canoe.

Food was good just wasn't enough based on the price, service was excellent the staff runs like an oiled machine, ambiance is very nice and very fine dining. I'm not a fine dining fan so my review is based on that'.

The food is delicious and service is top notch, as good as the beautiful nature scenery. Truly an oasis in the middle of ATL!
We went there for lunch on Monday.
The service was great and so was the food. My wife has 3 half size apps for lunch. She had the soup, the fries and the smoked salmon. I had the fish entree. We loved the food. We then had two desserts for fun, and they were fantastic. All server recommendations. If we ever visit Atlanta again, this is a go to spot. After lunch, we walked to the river edge and took a couple of pictures. Only 15 minutes from midtown, but feels like a world away.
We went there for my husband's birthday.
He's been wanting to go here for years, and made sure we made reservations over a month in advance. This place did not disappoint! There is valet parking which is free and they do take Venmo for tip. Our server was fantastic. She was attentive, gracious and provided excellent recommendations. The restaurant itself their makes your think your in an upside down canoe or in a boat house. Very on theme with the name. The bread was homemade, and the walnut and cranberry/raisin were incredible. We ordered two appetizers, the calamari and the kangaroo Wellington. The calamari was delicious amazing flavors. The kangaroo was very good, the mushrooms and sauce were very strong with the flavors. My husband got the pork chop and risotto. He liked them both very much. I got the venison and the tortellini. Pasta was homemade, you could taste that immediately. The cheese blend was good except for the blue cheese. It wasn't equally balanced and blew out the taste. The venison was cooked perfectly, but after the cut it, I could really get the flavoring in the middle (which is a shame, the two ends were packed with flavor). For dessert, we ordered the strawberry soft pretzel bread pudding. I would have come here JUST for that dessert. The soft pretzel absorbed all the mixture and it was on point. Highly recommend. Before we drove back home, we hung out in their garden area on the water. There's also a space for a wedding (where there was one going on at that time) and a cocktail reception. It was a lovely meal and highly recommend visiting it the next time you visit.
Had a wonderful experience - great food, venue, and staff.
However, I got terrible food poisoning from the duck breast. I will never go back after how bad this illness has been.
Worth the visit!

The pasta and smoked salmon were bland.
The pork chop and ice cream dessert were very good. The waiter and hostess were so kind and attentive. The place was dimly lit and clean. We had a kangaroo dish which was fine. 6/10. If you want to try something different, I would recommend this place, but the food definitely leaves something to be desired.
Great food - great service.
Good spot for business lunch or dinner. Also great happy hour with band on some nights.
A classic Atlanta restaurant with a modern flare.
Canoe is located next to Chattahoochee river which gives this place a surreal eating experience. The staff is phenomenal, attentive and responsive at every turn. One of the best hidden gems in Atlanta. Let me just say that at first, I was not expecting anything out of the ordinary.. especially since I was going for the burger. But boy... was I in for a surprise.. During lunch, they have the Angus Burger, which is a delight in itself. A thick and juicy all beef angus patty with sharp cheddar cheese and accompanied by a mountain of truffle fries. Yes, it is just as epic as it sounds.. and the taste is equally impressive. Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had. As if it couldn't get any better.. I also decided to come back and try their dinner burger.. which I found out, is a little different than lunch. The Duck n' Beef burger, is bar-none, stellar! First of all, it's made with duck fat, and a thick slice of sharp cheddar... and to top it off (literally) a sunny side up egg.. I mean.., is this heaven? Why yes.. yes it is. 10 out of 10... amazing. They are not the cheapest of course, you're looking to spend around $22 for the burger and the truffle fries (which are also - to die for!), but believe me.., it is well worth it. So if you're looking to treat yourself, or a loved one to one of the best burgers in Atlanta... look no further. Canoe is just up the river! Happy paddling!
My boyfriend and I weren't celebrating anything special
My boyfriend and I weren't celebrating anything special when we made this trip from Houston to Atlanta, except that he wanted to show me where he went to college, but this dining experience put this weekend date over the top! This place is beautiful. The grounds were peaceful and romantic. The service provided by Chris, our waiter, was impeccable. What made this dining experience super special were the special things that Jaime and Amanda arranged. These ladies made recommendations and executed a memorable evening. From giving us a few minutes to stroll in the garden while they prepared our table and our pre-ordered cocktails, to the special message written on our dessert plate, my man certainly felt extra special. He called them "my team!" Thank you for giving us a memorable experience and we will certainly be back!!!!

5 Stars for an upscale atmosphere with unique dishes (Think rabbit, venison, and even kangaroo!) and excellent service. We were able to score a 9:30pm reservation for Canoe on short notice and were willing to start dinner late to be able to enjoy this special spot. Our server was prompt and clearly very well trained. He told us about the Australian chef to help us understand the game-forward menu. As someone who has a hard time making decisions, I opted to go for the peppercorn crusted kangaroo 'Wellington' appetizer, featuring mushroom pate, topped with puff pastry ($21) and the baby arugula salad app with spiced nuts, Parmesan cheese, and a poppy seed vinaigrette ($17). The salad was fully tossed in the dressing (but not overly dressed), which balanced the peppery greens. The kangaroo 'Wellington' was impressive and had the whole table taking bites. The mushroom and pastry helped ease the gaminess of the meat, but it was pretty difficult to chew through and led to a halt in the conversation as we all flexed our jaw muscles! Regardless, it was full of flavor and still a win. I also had the pleasure of trying the rabbit and venison (we all shared bites!) and can see why this spot gets booked up quickly! Both dishes were packed with nuance and flavor and warranted the over $40 prices. Overall a very lovely evening and a special atmosphere. Next time I'll try their cocktails!
Great everything food, service and bartenders great drinks.
Nice atmosphere and warm welcome. Tim was exceptionally bartender

The service was excellent, the food was just so so and way overpriced for the quality of food received. Our truffle fries (3 of us) weren't cooked, so he brought us out a bowl of fresh fries to share. They weren't cooked either. Drinks were okay, but tasted watered down. Overrated.

Dinner with friends in the ATL
Holy cow!! Has to be one of my top restaurants, if not my top. The experience was over the top. The food was unbelievable from the appetizers to the dessert. We started the evening with a beet salad and the Kangaroo wellington, our main course was a selection of braised duck breast or rabbit. We finished it off with a couple desserts. As one in the group had a gf food allergy, they met that on all the dishes. The service was outstanding. The entire staff new the entire menu completely.
Such a special lunch
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Canoe on a sunny Monday. The hostess was kind enough to open the gate so we could wander along the river and she was gracious enough to take our pictured. She also gave some wonderful meal recommendations. KJ was our server and she provided great service. We shared the truffle fries and the shrimp salad with a delicious Sauvignon blanc. She kindly halved our portions as we were sharing a meal. Her dessert recommendation was incredibly good. She also offered us the flat bread to take with us and it was such a kind gesture. This entire experience of having lunch at Canoe was delightful experience and I cannot wait to return.
UP A RIVER WITHOUT A PADDLE WITH THIS CANOE...
We were celebrating our anniversary. The employees were nice enough to acknowledge our special day. It's a great view of the river if they give you a good table. Unfortunately, we were sat to the side with a view of dirty stairs and what looked like an abandoned tent used for receptions. Dirty martinis and breadbasket were good and after an hour had passed, we finally received our 8oz cold rare Beef Tenderloin and dry Roasted Duroc Pork Chop. I ordered medium and got a cold bloody piece of beef. My boyfriend took two bites of the pork and couldn't bring himself to send it back. I declined my plate. They did offer to replace it but after waiting an hour for food that clearly had sat waiting to be served, I was disenchanted. To make up for the bad food they gave us a free hard dessert that looked like someone rejected it. They finally indicated that we would not be charged for the $60 bloody piece of beef. If the river swelled and washed this Canoe away would be the only improvement made. I digress, as fortunately there are many other amazing restaurants in Atlanta.
Best brunch!
As I got this graving for a true "eat-heavy" brunch, my friends suggested CANOE. Well, we did eat heavy but all was perfectly done. The personnel is genuinely polite and highly experienced. Cocktails are STRONG! (and this is good!) A bit pricey but all worth it.
Great Location / Atmosphere / Food
Wonderful food. We had a birthday celebration and they really looked after us. Great view, wonderful staff.
A "must experience" dining destination.
Canoe was recommended a while ago by a friend and last week we made an impromptu decision to dine there. Upon arrival, we chose to utilize the complimentary valet service. While reservations are strongly advised due to the popularity, we were fortunate enough to be seated immediately in the main dining room. We were immediately greeted by our server, Patricia, who took first-class care of us the entire evening. The restaurant overlooks scenic gardens, with a river just beyond - a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony, or similar occasion. Canoe boasts and extensive wine selection, both by the bottle, and by the glass. They pride themselves on their specialty fish and game dishes, which we both had the opportunity to enjoy. The food was fresh, well presented, and perfectly cooked. I would once again like to recognize Patricia for her guidance and food recommendations. Overall, a fantastic experience. Canoe should be on anyone's "go-to" list as an exceptional dining venue.
Not worth the price
After hearing such great things about the restaurant and location (near the river), I was not impressed with the food. We sat outside and the service was lacking in attention. The meals were very expensive compared to the quality. I will not be returning as there are so many better restaurants with equally nice views of greenery (the distant view of the river is not worth the hightened prices).

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
