It's hard to write a review for a place that you held in such high esteem for so long, only to come back and it has not only sold to new owners, but lost the warm feeling it once welcomed you with. This is not the same place we have gone to for so many years. The new owners have opened the place up yet kept the feel, however by removing the wall you can no longer hear the piano player that has been there since forever. He is a wonderful man, but it is difficult to watch how he is drowned out by the conversations of so many people. My food was food, not memorable like the food that was the reason we returned time and time again for. My wife's NY Strip was inedible, as you could not cut it with a steak knife it was so tough. Our server was armed with an electronic device to punch our order in, and would not allow us to place an appetizer order without placing our food order. Ambience well, as I said, loud. Thought the maitre d' remembered us from the past, it was clear he was not employed by the same caring on site owners of the past. It is very difficult transitioning an iconic business, especially one in PB. If you have been a customer of the past, I find it difficult to believe you are still going here.

Over-priced and not worth it! One of the busier & pricer restaurants in this billionaire heavy playground applied for and received a $650k government grant to redecorate so billionaires & millionaires could dine in new decor on your tax dollars. They also applied for & received $1M for another of their restaurants, Taboo, and did not pay rent for a year then closed it down! #BOYCOTT !

Such a great experience that I even dined there two nights in a row! Beautiful, upbeat atmosphere with a popular bar area and lively piano music. The staff is exceptional. The artichoke was perfect and the salmon entree was large and delicious (I had it both nights). A press salad was ok. The flaming dessert (crepes I think) was lots of fun. Loved the cocktails too. I look forward to returning.

Outstanding service from the moment you walk into the front door and are greeted by the maitre'd. it was nothing short of sensational service til the end. The food was marvelous. We started with two orders of superior caviar, followed by soup and main courses. We had the duck, salmon and lobster. Three delicious plates. For dessert, we had vanilla and a chocolate soufflé. Both were hot, crunchy on the corners and mouth watering. Absolutely fabulous!

If you want to feel like royalty and have a taste of heaven, Cafe L'Europe is the place to be! Their food is so amazing that you'll forget your name and their service is so fantastic that you'll think you're in a dream. But hold on tight to your wallet because this restaurant is expensive! However, trust me, it's worth every penny. Just make sure you make a reservation, or you might end up having to fight for a table with a bunch of hungry alligators. Yes, that's right, alligators! I saw one trying to sneak in for a bite of their famous steak au poivre, but the staff kicked him out before he could even order a glass of water. So, if you want to avoid getting eaten alive by an alligator and enjoy some of the best food in town, head to Cafe L'Europe!

The last thing I want to do is give a negative review to a local restaurant. Palm Beach is a small island. I guess Cafe L'EUROPE was having a bad night in the kitchen. We didn't say anything to anyone, we just paid and left. The service was okay. Our waitress interrupted us several times and was quite impressed with how many years she had worked at this restaurant. Information we never solicited. The decor is magnificent. Especially if you get a window table like we did.The food, eh. There were four of us dinning. We ordered caviar to start. It was great and served perfectly. The lobster bisque was delicious. Then the entrees came. My three guests ordered the red snapper and I ordered the Wiener schnitzel, which was BONE DRY. Cooked so thin there was nothing soft or juicy left inside the breading. I asked for some cream gravy and mashed potatoes to turn this meal into a chicken fried steak dinner. Lol it would have been good soaked in gravy to take the dryness away. The other three ordered the red snapper and each one couldn't finish it because the fish was so dry and crunchy. (This was not fried fish) Like me, we left four mostly I eaten places behind.Shamefully disappointed. Not sure why they would serve food to dry. Our only guess was that they had been sitting under a heat lamp.

I was denied a seat because I did not want to take off my hat by an older gentleman with white hair. I was Extremely disappointed because a close friend of mine recommended this place. I asked if outside was available (there is 6 tables and 5 available) and he stated they are currently full. It seems like they are looking for only a certain type of people at this location. .
Be the first to ReplyHad a great dining experience.
Loved the food. The drinks were amazing. Loved the tuna tartar and lobster risotto. Very attentive wait staff. Had a lovely time. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyEverything we ordered was excellent.
Food was prepared with precision and service was just what you would expect from such an elegant - but not stuffy - restaurant. I would order the duckling again!

We had a wonderful birthday celebration for my mother at Café L'Europe over the weekend. The service was phenomenal and the food was excellent. All of the entrees were cooked to perfection and a glass was rarely empty. The service staff was knowledgeable and had great energy, they were willing to swoop in and help with meal choices and also took the time to understand any allergies at the table. We will be recommending the restaurant to friends and other family members. Also we hope to soon stop back in for another scrumptious dinner. I will add, Jade was fantastic when it came to making the reservation she is a ball of energy and you can tell she loves the restaurant. But when Bruce, the Maitre D', called me the day of the reservation only a few hours prior, asking for my party to come in 15 mins earlier than our reservation time it was a little bit off putting before the reservation even started. Especially due to the fact we arrive and there is no one in the dining room but us. 15 mins isn't drastic of course but we were a larger party coming from different directions and some from over an hour away and others from work so 15 mins can make a difference. His explanation was "they oversold reservations for the evening", I explained I would have to contact the other people in my reservation as we were a party of 7 and instead of allowing me to call him back after he hung up I received an email he changed the reservation time. He was even stuffy in person, I thought it was just me but others in the party brought it to the table's attention, his mannerisms when I walked in were quite judgmental but once seated and we started our dining experience those 2 very small moments melted away and the food and the service spoke for itself.

My boyfriend got bad food poisoning dining there which is very unusual for him( he had Chicken Milanese that comes with arugula salad and fries) I had short rib bolognese which tasted fine but was very oily so I couldn't even finish it. Appetizers were great!5 hours later my boyfriend was deeply sick with nausea, vomiting, fever and frequent trips to the bathroom. My frustration reached a boiling point when we had to cancel our flight home because he was unable to leave the bed for 48 hours after. The lack of empathy that was shown was ridiculous. We tried to call the manager (Sergio Cuadros) over the past two days with no call back from him. Finally he called back two days later when my boyfriend was almost recovered. He showed no genuine sympathy, no apology, and basically told us he could not do nothing to resolve the situation. I'm never looking for a free meal but for my boyfriend to lay by the toilet sick. Miss our flight NY that we had to pay extra to have moved back. Missing two days of work on top of all that and not even try to make a positive resolution out of the situation is a absolute joke!!!Anyone else who gets food poisoning from this place immediately go to the emergency room and have it document maybe something will be done then.

THE BEST!!! Not cheap but elegant and the food is outstanding. Great night out with dynamic vibe. If you want elegant and don't mind spending for it, this is the place! Wonderful for special nights out.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and dining experience at Cafe L'Europe was great.
To start off, there are several types of breads, including pretzel rolls. For my appetizer, I had the grilled Caesar salad. My entree consisted of duck and potato gratin. The duck was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we had soufflé and profiteroles. I would recommend dining at this restaurant.

We popped in here thinking it was a cafe (think casual coffee and pastry place). But it's a sit down French restaurant and bar. Regardless the host welcomed us and sat us near the bar. We were really only looking for a dessert and coffee after our dinner elsewhere. My spouse and I started off with a couple of cocktails. I got the Palm Beach mule, which was very refreshing. We then got the strawberry pavlova--it was heavenly! It's a merengue topped with ice cream and strawberries drizzled with a raspberry syrup. So good!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a review of 2 different elements in one restaurant:
This is a review of 2 different elements in one restaurant: (1) a fine dining establishment that pumps out some really damn good food; and (2) a "see & be seen" place that is entertaining for its people watching.First, the food. I started out with the tomato tartare. This is one of the most unique appetizers I have ever had. I was not sure that it was worth my ordering it but I figured I should since I would never find it on another menu anywhere. It was a fresh salad of sorts consisting of cooked minced tomato bits that was seeded (of course) and shaped into a thick patty. It had a garnish on top of seasoned small green beans. It was good but not great due to the intense sweetness of the dressing that the tomato bits were suspended in. Think sugary dessert more than appetizer. It is NOT that I did not like it; just that the dish overall was simply too sweet. It was not balanced and not savory. Presentation was A+ though. I could not eat the entire thing because of the sweetness. My main course was excellent but un-remarkable. My spouse's food was excellent too. And, guess what, if you want caviar, there are multiple menu entries for you - different applications, different types, different prices (like from $150 - $450). A little pricy but the rest of the menu was more reasonable (not reasonable exactly, just more reasonable). There is nothing bad, really, to say about the quality of the food or the presentation (except for the tomato tartare).Second, the atmosphere. Let's face it, THIS is the best reason to eat at Cafe L'Europe. This is the Palm Beach glitterati crowd at its best. Other than my spouse and I, the host and hostesses knew EVERYONE who came in for dinner. There were handshakes, backslaps, hugs and cheek kisses. No names were given because none were needed. Everyone who came there - except for us - was known! I imagine that these people eat here at least weekly, maybe more. Nobody who was known waited for a table - at all - ever. If the preferred table was not available, then that party was seated at the "waiting" table until their preferred table was ready. We, on the other hand, who had made a reservation almost a month in advance but are nobody's, had to stand and wait till our table was ready (the only people I saw that night who waited). It was a scene - and not one that was particularly awful in hindsight! The clothes around us were brands that I had heard of before but never worn - too expensive for me! None of the men wore socks - just $1200 pairs of elegant shoes. The women, OMG the women, were all over the spectrum from ripped high end jeans to full drop dead evening gowns. Jewelry like you see at the awards shows. Beaded and bejeweled dresses, blouses and bags. There were more face lifts in the dining room than I could count. People there knew most of the other people around them - there was a lot of stopping to say hello, air kiss kiss, talk a little business even monkey business, then on to your preferred table. It was fascinating! None of this turned me off at all. Rather, it was fun to watch this sort of celebrity behavior. The staff was awesome! You ask for something and you get it! Immediately! The staff was friendly, accommodating and professional. The place was busy but, when we needed to talk to someone, it felt like we were the only people in the restaurant. The manager stopped by a number of times to make sure we were happy! All in all, this is a great place to eat when you are on vacation. The food is very good, almost 100% great. But haven't we all been to restaurants where the food is really good??? Here, it is the people watching that will keep me talking about Cafe L'Europe for a long LONG time!!!!

Out of 5 stars Cafe L'Europe gets a minimum of SixFrom the moment the valet takes the car, warm cordial greeting, well dressed and well groomed, extraordinarily polite to meeting Bruce, the Superstar Matri D.Elegantly appointed, quite romantic the dining room is spectacular. My Bride always tells me I order to fast, we had a cocktail, and James our fantastic server, said several times take as much time as you need, there's no rush. We decided to split a Tuna Tartar, my Bride went with highly recommended Lobster Risotto, I chose the Yellow Tail Snapper over a bed of Bok Choi, we are not dessert eaters but decided to splurge on the Grand Marniere Soufflé. I thought I was clear to James that we were going to split the Tartar. Two servings came to our table and it appeared to be 2 over sized servings. We called James over who repeated that is a split serving. Highest quality Tuna, and I can't remember saying an appetizer was too big; it could easily have fed 3.Risotto was out of this world with ample chunks of lobster. The snapper was done to perfection and I would have guessed was swimming earlier in the day.May have been my best dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyCafe L'Europe is one of our favorite restaurants.
It's been our first choice for special occasions for many years. Or just any occasion! Valet is complimentary and perfect. The atmosphere is airy and bright, especially with last year's renovation. At the door (you will LOVE the Maitre d') you will receive the welcome of a family member. Of course, the food is always excellent and prepared exactly to order. Being a regular hangout for Palm Beach locals, an added benefit is people watching. It's busy, so plan in advance and reserve a table near the piano. Oh yes, you'll love the piano player too! Worth Avenue is adjacent for an after dinner stroll. A great destination and a must-have experience if you are visiting Palm Beach.
Be the first to ReplyWe had dinner just recently at Cafe L'Europe.
The good news the service and the waitstaff were outstanding. The food on the other hand was not all that good. The salad dressing had little flavor almost just a dry salad. I ordered a steak medium rare was served medium well. Its expensive and one would think the food would be prepared to a better standard than ordinary at best.
Be the first to ReplyIt has the bones to be great, but alas it it fails.
It tries to create an elegant European style slow dinner atmosphere, but the food is mediocre and the service is not as good as it once was. Given the price point of $300 to $400 for a dinner of two, I expect more. A pity. My wife and I used to like coming here.
Be the first to ReplyFrench restaurant? Absolutely not.
There is nothing French about this restaurant. Well, maybe the "ladies" at the bar waiting for a quick pickup from a palm beach millionaire. This was the absolute worst meal that we have had in Palm Beach County in many years and we have lived here for seven years and frequented PBC for over 20. Jeffery Epstein probably loved this place.
Be the first to ReplyAs stuffy as a palm beach destination can be.
They'll use any holiday, including a Sunday night Halloween, as an excuse to limit the restaurant to their "old and rich" clientele and charge a cover charge way out of proportion to the extras provided. Their attitude as you can imagine is very condescending. The valet parkers were the kindest people around. Bring your portable oxygen with you if you dare!P.S. I have my own company and we monitor our reviews. Let me tell you, the number of, and the extremely positive 5-star reviews highly suggest that they are paid reviews. Very few people take the time to right such fantastically glowing reviews with statements such as: "the beat ever!!"

Fangalicious was welcomed here! We sat on the "patio" aka the sidewalk close to the street. Still it is a very nice establishment and if you are in the mood to dress up and be seen by the PB crowd this is the place to do it!!! Fun, great service, and a tasty menu with an interesting wine list!
Be the first to ReplyWe went on a Sunday night in April for our anniversary.
We sat inside. It had a very pleasant ambiance...light, cheerful, live pianist. We asked the waitress if the Dover sole was fresh and she said it was. Both my husband and I ordered the Dover sole, however it was inedible. It was tough, most likely frozen and terribly disappointing. Hard to believe any chef, especially at a fine restaurant, would serve sole this way
