This boutique hotel is located right in the heart of Aspen.
It's walking distance from every store and restaurant in town. The decor is extremely unique and the rooms are spacious! We really enjoyed our stay and chatting with the owner, Terry, and her assistant, Loraine. Can't forget about Charlie, the dog, who greeted us with a song. We'll definitely be back!

What an amazing stay! Terry is a wonderful owner and makes you feel right at home. The furniture, decorations and interior design is so unique, there is so much detail and thought put into every square inch of this hotel. Our room was the smallest room in the hotel but it still had a double jacuzzi with jets and huge dual-sink bathroom. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed I n the morning. The location couldn't be better, literally right in the middle of Aspen and Terry has the best recommendations for what to do in town. Highly recommend!

Staying at The Residence Hotel was the most beautiful, curated, luxurious experience I could have imagined. There is an amazing level of consideration put into the decor of each and every corner of the suites and lobby area. The host, Terry, gave us the best recommendations for everything from hikes to restaurants. Having a true local helping us navigate our week in Aspen was the cherry on top of an amazing stay in this hotel. Don't miss it!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely disgusted with my experience here.
Specifically the owner, Terry. She was the most disrespectful host I have encountered in my 20 years of traveling weekly.I called to confirm my reservation and Terry had an utter fit over the phone. When told our confirmation number she freaked out and explained there's no more rooms and she doesn't want me staying in her hotel. She screamed she had worked a 15 hour day and was tired, so she did not want to confirm our room.I couldn't believe the things coming from her mouth. Disgusting. AVOID THIS HOTEL IT SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS!

We booked this hotel for a relaxing, fun vacation in Aspen. I decided to call the Residence Hotel to double check on our reservation. When the owner, I believe her name is Terry, answered the phone, she said that our reservation did not exist (even though we had a confirmation). We had flights and plans booked for this vacation and suddenly had no place to stay. The owner explained that she does not book a room for only two nights- although that is not what it says when you book off her website. While on the phone with her, I was asked repeatedly if we were staying with boys and if we were partying- both completely out of line questions to ask a paying customer. After a 30 minutes conversation- the only deal I could make with the owner was to pay an extra 1000$ for a four night stay (even though we would only stay for two). I told my my travel agent (who booked the hotel) about the situation. My travel agent decided to call to confirm that I wouldn't have any more mix ups- like any travel agent would. I received a call from the owner the next day screaming on the phone. She called my travel agent a "nasty witch" and said that I should not have told anyone about our agreement. She did not let me get a single word in because she was yelling at me for the whole phone call then hung up after kicking us out of her hotel for simply confirming a room. I attempted to contact her- I called twice and left a voicemail but she did not respond. I have never seen this kind of customer abuse in my entire life. The owner is verbally abusive and an extremely rude woman- I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The owner is completely unprofessional and rude. We called to confirm a reservation that apparently did not exist- despite our confirmation number. She was disrespectful and didn't try to work with us at all. The lack of communication afterward was unbelievable. She ignored our calls and never bothered to give us a call back irrespective of our messages. My only speculation is that she could not find it in her busy day managing an 8 bedroom hotel to speak with us. I'm glad we did not end up staying here because I could only imagine what kind of place she runs. Avoid at all costs.

Loved the decor with each unique room. I recommend staying here. Owned by a local. Beds were soooo comfy and right in the middle of everything. Oh!...Don't forget to ask Charlie to sing you a welcome song...such a darling.

I booked my Executive here for a conference he was attending as all the major hotels in the area were sold out. We were not able to find reviews for the hotel since they're listed as "Aspen Residence Hotel" through our travel agent and "The Residence Hotel" in on Yelp and Trip Advisor. I thought it would be safe to book as the price point was around $600/night. Due to flight delays, my exec gets there at midnight and calls me screaming to get him out of there. There were bats in his room that were swooping down on him as they didn't seem to like that he was invading their space. This was horrible after a long day of traveling with flight delays, etc. Unfortunately there were no hotels available in the area due to the fires and the conference, so the innkeeper gave him her room. Come check-out day and they were not able to give him a folio. He left his email address for them to email it to him, but wanted me to follow up to make sure they actually sent it. I called and spoke to the owner. I think her name was Perry, but couldn't tell since she was also talking to someone else while talking to me, and then hung up on me. I asked if she could also send the folio to me, so I can make sure we receive it. Instead of taking my email address down, she wanted me to email them so she wouldn't have to write down my email address. Not sure if she understands anything about customer service and not making the customer do additional work, but after already getting hung up on, having my exec freak out about bats in the room, and then having to go through hoops to get a copy of our hotel Folio, and on top of paying $600/night for a room...there is no way I could ever recommend this property. I tried to let her know about the customer experience we had and she got extremely defensive, so I let her know I'd leave it in a review instead then. At this point, she lost it, threatened me if I'd leave a review, and then hung up on me again (2nd time). I've already talked to our company's travel agency to file a complaint and have them removed from our data base. I would never recommend anyone stay here, especially high level corporate travelers.

One of the most charming hotels in the world with one of the greatest host in the world. Every room is unique and there is no better location anywhere in Aspen. An amazing experience I will always remember.
Be the first to ReplyI recently stayed at The Residence in Aspen.
I stayed in the English Victorian Suite. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner, Terry along with her companion, Charlie, a pooch. Terry proceeded to tell me that she had tried to contact me to let me know that she had upgraded my suite as there was a cancellation. The suite was unbelievably great. The furnishings and the decorations are unique to each suite and all have the flair of Terry. Terry showed me the suite and was extremely kind and accommodating in helping to point out the uniqueness of the room.....a steam shower, a raised tub, hidden big screen television, a full kitchen. Additionally she was able to provide recommendations for cocktails, breakfast and dinner. The suite is a one bedroom with a separate living room. The decorations and appointments are as though one was in their own home. Period pieces, bookshelves loaded with books, unique decorations and personal touches of Terry with friends and celebrities who have had the pleasure of staying at the Residence. One cannot find a better place to stay while in Aspen. I will be sure to stay at the Residence each time I visit Aspen
