Horribly slow, many tables left without being served, inexcusable.
Old, very dark and not updated in decades. Reservation at 5:30 so we could make an 8pm show. The wait staff was great. The appetizers were good. The delivery of the entree was horribly slow, 45 minutes between finishing salad and getting entree. Many tables near us left without eating. We had to eat in 10 minutes to make the 8pm show. For a “high end” place at $135 a plate this is inexcusable. The steaks were ok in quality but not better than any good backyard grilled steak I’ve made. Will never go back.
Be the first to ReplyBest beef short ribs!!
I am sure my meal is not what the servers recommend to patrons but the beef short ribs with roasted vegetables were the best I have ever eaten! Not that I could finish my food, but I look forward to enjoying it again tomorrow. The restaurant atmosphere and decor makes for a great evening and the excellent service adds a little extra. It’s obviously on the upmarket side of pricey but certainly a cut above other dining options.

We were out to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We arrived early, so started at the bar with a double expresso martini. It was amazingly tasty. Then we were seated upstairs in a cozy corner. I ordered a filet and lobster tail, hubby ordered a Caesar salad, a side of button mushrooms and a filet. Everything was outstanding. The meat melted in our mouths! Even the mushrooms were spectacular. I’m not sure what spices they use, but they were perfect. My lobster tail was the sweetest I have ever tasted. We also had a bottle of Portugal red wine. It was good (not great). Highly recommend this restaurant for ‘special’ occasions since it is quite pricey.

Our daughter graduated from UB and we wanted to have a special dinner at a special place to celebrate. Since we’re from NYC we took the recommendation of one of my daughter’s friends and dined at The Buffalo Chophouse. The place is wonderful! Our food was delicious, the service was excellent and the decor beautiful. We dine at steakhouses often and this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We wish this restaurant wasn’t 400 miles from home or we’d definitely dine there again.
Be the first to ReplyFirst visit-disappointing!
Heard many wonderful things about this restaurant. The valet parking was wonderful. They couldn't have been more prompt, friendly, or courteous. We were a few minutes early and were seated immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and did a great job. Drinks and wine were good. Best food of the night, was the French onion soup-very good! The main attraction, the steak was prepared medium as ordered, but way too heavy with the seasonings, and dry. After anticipating what should have been the best steak ever, it was a big let down.

The ambiance was incredible. The staff was good. We were in shock at the seating. We were put in between a family with kids and the other side 2 older women. We were so close we felt as if all of us shared a table. We ordered the lamb, mine rare, my wife medium. They came basically raw. We couldnt eat it so we decided to take them home. The next day we cooked them and it was good. NOT GOOD FOR A 5 STAR. If I was trying to impress, this was not the place. It was a very big let down.

Went to buffalo chop house on a Tuesday night, they seated us in a very cool booth on the second floor, However, it was so dark I could not see the menu or the food. It was So dark the waiter when pointing out a wine couldn’t see either…. The filet was okay, the chicken not worth the money. $38 for a leg and a wing…seriously! In addition to our wine we were drinking sparkling water and the waiter poured tap water into my sparkling before I could stop him and all he said, was sorry, you have a little left in your bottle. I would not recommend or go back. Service, food and atmosphere overrated and overpriced.

My husband and I were disappointed after hearing good reviews for the Buffalo Chophouse, but we both found that our meals were dry and extremely salty (not just heavily seasoned), and the waiter kept trying to upsell us. Additionally, the waiter asked us once how the meal was, only moments after we received it, too soon to have tried the main course. Despite asking at the beginning if we were celebrating anything and learning we were there for a birthday, the waiter did not ask for ID or add the birthday discount until after giving us the bill, and required us to catch it and ask. Something I noticed (though which we did not need at our table) was that they will not do separate checks but will divide the check evenly - for a place this expensive, where servers are certianly making hundreds in tips alone nightly, you would think that would be the least they could do. On the other hand, the appetizer special was delicious.

The taste is just ok kinda bland the presentation is beautiful and the quality is fabulous however even though the steaks are well cooked they don’t have enough seasoning very plain except for the charcoal crust. The mashed potatoes were the standard prepared ahead and ordered from a food distributor definitely not house made only house warmed. We ordered a 75 steak definitely not as good as we cook at home ?? However I rarely eat anything in a restaurant as good as at home. Extremely expensive for the fare given. We had the huge prawns and they were giant but didn’t have much flavor and the cocktail sauce was very mild little flavor just ketchup and horseradish.

We went there for New Year dinner. We were seated upstairs. We ordered a 40 oz porter house for $185 which served for two. We loved it; it was tender and served well but I found it little too salty. Also the butter served with bread was too salty too. The salad and baked potato were average. The wine list was excellent and we enjoyed our wine. Atmosphere was nice but nothing stood out. Our server was excellent!!!!! What a great guy! Service was also great. I wished I remembered his name to post here.
