Bryant Park Winter Village New York Reviews from The Last Year
Bumper cars on ice! Such a fun idea and activity for kids
Bumper cars on ice! Such a fun idea and activity for kids but here's my issue. We paid $25 for 10mins on the ice! I think the tickets are overpriced and in my opinion not worth it. Some of the staff were rude and not very friendly or approachable which is a no for me given the fact this is a KID FRIENDLY activity. The other issue is they allow people on the ice in groups and each group is timed or at least it's supposed to be timed (10mins) however a few people were complaining because the group that went before my kids & their friends had way more than 10mins on the ice. It's unfair to the others wanting more time & being told no because it's only a 10min experience but other groups are getting more time. At the most this should cost $12-$15 because $25 per ticket for 10mins and rude staff just isn't worth it to me.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon with the kids after lunch!
Came here on a Sunday afternoon with the kids after lunch! It was packed! There were no seats to sit around in. But eventually waiting long enough we found seats! This is a great place to hang out in the city! People watch and watch people iceskating! Kids enjoyed! And when they got bored there's plenty of eateries around, there were dessert stalls, coffee places, snacks, hot chocolate! There was an abundance of food!!!!!!! Everything was quite pricey but definitely expected. The kids loved it so it's all worth it! We did not do iceskating because it was pricey! I told the kids they can have hot chocolate and fries instead and we sat there and watched people on the ice! It was a great time!!!!!
This review is for the ice skating rink.
The staff is 100% ghetto. They are running a scam where they will steal any bag or item that you leave on a bench and turn your back on for a second. Then they will call it 'confiscated' and try to make you pay them to get your belongings back. Are they also going through the bags and stealing stuff? This is like a third world scam. The rink itself is great, just another good idea ruined by diversity.
Those who did venture out into the frozen tundra this past
Those who did venture out into the frozen tundra this past weekend may have spotted one of NYC's most reliable signs that winter has officially arrived. The Josephine Shaw Lowell, a social worker active in the late 19th century, Memorial Fountain at Bryant Park's Winter Village located in Midtown Manhattan has officially frozen over and become a sculpture crafted by Mother Nature herself. Upon arriving there yesterday, gone were those heavy holiday crowds. Its centerpiece has to be their 17,000-square-foot rink, featuring free admission ice skating and bumper cars on ice through March 3, 2024. Tickets start at $20 for the bumper car rides lasting 10 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis within the one-hour booking window. It's a great meeting spot, which we can recommend.
The Winter Village at Bryant Park is a popular attraction
The Winter Village at Bryant Park is a popular attraction the holidays - we had recently stopped by to check out some specific eateries, and it seemed as if they had added more vendors this year, as they were also outside of the perimeters of the park rather than only being within. You can find kiosks with apparel, beauty products, children items, art, home decor, etc., in addition to various eateries. The place does get packed, so the pathways can be a bit narrow in terms of walking around. Lines for certain vendors tend to get super long, so getting there earlier is best. There are seating scattered around the park that seemed to be ample.
Oh! Winter Village in Bryant Park.
The most popular Christmas Market in New York. I recommend going early in the season because it becomes unbearably crowded as Christmas approaches. There are numerous food vendors. I've had waffles and hot cocoa at Waffles & Dinges. These waffles are sweet and delightful! I also tried a Baked Cheese Haus sandwich made with a baguette, ham, onions, pickles, and raclette cheese. The Raclette has a funky smell odor, but the sandwich is quite tasty. Also definitely go ice skating, curling and/or do the bumper cars. Overall, 3-ish stars for a fun experience.
I went to Bryant Park Christmas village on a Thursday and
I went to Bryant Park Christmas village on a Thursday and it was still busy. It was to be expected though with all the kiddos at home and people taking time off for the holidays. They had so many food options which was great but got to say the food was underwhelming or at least most of what i tried. Yucca fries were bricks as they were so hard I tried to eat a couple and then just throw it out lol. The chicken stick had the most basic teriyaki sauce I have ever tried lol. I came back and tried the Korean friend chicken which was $10 not bad to them see that it was 4-5 mini bites like where's the food I waited in line for 1hr 30min for smores and more and the marshmallow was the best part and even better when mixed with the hot choco. Not sure if it was really worth the wait but the man at the stall was genuinely so nice to each and every person that visited them. I went around 5 and waiting in the line made me realize that I would have to hurry and try to explore and eat the other 95% of the market with the rest of the 2hrs I had. I was a little sad that I didn't get to try the pickle stall but their placement in the overall scheme was awkward and so I ended up passing them without knowing. My favorite stall was the Laksa shop with their curry laksa which filled me with warmth and a nice small kick of spice as well. If you want to go check it out you still can, they close their doors on March 3rd so plenty of time compared to other markets that close usually around New Years Eve or before. I would recommend going to check it out as even though most of the stuff I tried was mid there is so many more other things to try that might be good. Food Frida Favorites- Churro Smores N More- marshmallow hot chocolate Laksa shop - Curry Laksa Palenque Empanadas- Yucca Fries Crispy chick- Teriyaki chicken Tada Noodles- Korean Fried Chicken
I'm giving one start because you can't give anything less .
.. The place is ridiculously over crowded , not well organized and one single bathroom with a line that is endless .. , you can barely walk between the shops and the Cozy Igloo thing is something I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND, they charge you $300 for 90 minutes and all you get is a choice of pretzel , hot dogs , chicken tenders and either hot chocolate or hot cider for drinks .. damn for $300 I'd expect a little more . They do have a menu with additional food that is nothing but bar fried fast food .. and the drinks are ridiculous expensive . Not to mention the hostess named Fernanda is the rudest human I have ever met , she's obnoxious from beginning to end , I asked her a few questions in regards to the bathroom situation and she completely ignored me , until finally my boyfriend asked her AGAIN and she answered with an attitude . We also got there about 20 minutes prior to our reservation ( they ask you to some earlier to settle things ) and she tells me I have to wait , than now is our reservation time to get in and she decided to go fill cider thermals while we stood there .. We ended up only staying an hour instead of the 90 minutes because the vibe and service were just that TERRIBLE!!! GO elsewhere !!
Definitely worth checking out this place.
There were a lot of options for the whole family. I would recommend checking out the frites, cheese haus, and stroopwaffle stands. Note: This place does get busy with tourists and bathrooms are limited but available.
My absolute favorite Holiday Market.
With so many lovely stores and thirty food kiosks it is an eating bonanza! I get excited when I go there as it's pretty and full of life. Bao by Kaya here is the best as they produce delicious food. Even though they are in the other holiday markets and some food halls here they excel. The German sausage was also tasty. I didn't care for the overpriced apple cider doughnuts which are available at the Union Square Greenmarket nor the ginger cookies which had little flavor. The best part is that this market is open till January 2nd so it gives me plenty of days to dream about what more to eat & enjoy. United Leather is special as it sells card cases, wallets in pretty hues and I have quite a collection but still like to feast my eyes.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
