How can simple food be this bad?
Hard to imagine how such basic food can be so bad. Hamburgers overcooked and over salted, soggy French fries. Don’t even consider ordering a salad. One and done.
Be the first to ReplyFood not great
I ordered a hamburger and I did not like it It was very salty. This place looks nice but the food is not very good. It is next to the Bronxville train station.

Always decent diner food, friendly staff too. Wait time can be a little tedious but they do their best to keep things moving along.

We usually eat at the Bronxville Diner at least once while visiting nearby Sarah Lawrence College. It's always busy and the food and service have historically been very good. Latest visit utilized their outside dining, which was pleasant and efficient. Our food and waiter were great but the man at a nearby table had all kinds of issues getting his order right. The experience can be a mixed bag but it's always worth giving them another try. A solid choice for casual dining.

Beautiful interior. Reminds me of old classic diners from the past.Great food. Great service. Very well kept, and clean. Hats off on the interior design.
Be the first to ReplyGood for a diner
I ordered the fish and chips with salad and coleslaw for my vegetable. I had an ice tea and the waiter was excellent at keeping my drinks full. The salad was nice and fresh. I like the addition of the Greek olives. It added a nice touch. The fish was good but a little tough on ends. Fries where good. Everything was pretty good and service was excellent.

I’ve only been in the diner for take out and each time it’s been a long wait. The decor is very creative, someone put a lot of love into it. Couldn’t get a better location. The food is ok, a little pricey for diner food.
Be the first to ReplyWe loved our lunch here!
My husband and I had lunch at the Bronxville Diner today, a rainy afternoon. The decor really brightened our spirits!
My husband had grilled Swiss with sauerkraut (a special order) and home fries, a favorite of his, and said it was the best he’s ever had.
I had an omelette with smoked salmon (also a special order) and buttered rye toast. The omelette was delicious and I really appreciated that they buttered the toast while it was warm, rather than bringing me cold toast and having to try to butter it myself. Oh, and my husband’s home fries also were great. I had a chocolate egg cream and it was perfect. I’m very picky when it comes to egg creams!
The service was quick and the server was very pleasant.
We hope to return soon!
Excellent and varied general diner restaurant.
I go fairly regularly to this relatively new local haunt. Friendly, prompt and efficient staff complement very good and varied menu of food. My brother loves their milkshakes. I enjoy their Veggie Benedict.

If you are looking for a great breakfast or brunch, this is the place to go. Kind of a 50's throwback diner, with a very extensive menu especially for breakfast. Excellent food and service, very fun place. Be prepared to wait on weekends as this place is very popular.

Popped in here after the movie and had a great experience. Very family friendly with something on the menu for everyone. Really cute decor.
We ordered the shrimp platter special. Presentation and taste great-shrimp done just right with tasty rice. Chicken noodle soup was delicious with nice chunks of chicken. Also ordered a chopped salad with dressing in the side which was done nicely. Our server was polite, efficient and attentive without being pushy. Very reasonably priced.
Retro breakfast in the Bronx
Waaay back retro... like Marty McFly in Back to the Future. We waited for 10 minutes for a seat on Saturday morning. The place is adorned with lots of chrome, old posters and ads for catsup, tin boxes of crayons for kids and plenty of other period tchotchkes.
Our server was patient and friendly and despite the constant flow of people, our order was quickly processed and delivered accurately. The menu was pricey, but I suppose for Bronxville it's about what one would expect. We had the spinach omelette with home fries, a sausage breakfast burrito, eggs hollandaise over corned beef on a toasted English muffin with cheesy grits on the side... AND... fried chicken and waffles.
On a personal note, after finally having fried chicken and waffles I don't really get what all the fuss is about. (No knock on the restaurant -- it was perfectly prepared.) But as a brunch food I was unimpressed and in the future I would try specialty items off any menu before going for chicken and waffles.
We had a great breakfast here and will come back. Bring quarters for the parking lot across the street. Street parking is limited (15 minutes = 25 cents).
