First of many visits !!!
A farewell dinner planned 14 guests booked with the team online - set dining menu for ease : small hiccup on arrival however swiftly stepped in and resolved with no fuss, my guests didn’t realise we’d not got quite what I wanted. Manageress then worked swiftly to put some courtesy canapés & light bites on the table while we waited to order. Great food, friendly happy staff & a team leader (Martyna I think) who knows her stuff & made the evening a significant success: thank you all

We visited here as a group of 11 (ranging from 8yrs to 72yrs) after a visit to The Shard for a family birthday. With a mixture of fussy kids, vegetarians, and demanding pensioners, this was one of the few places I could find nearby that had availability for us all and a good suitable range on the menu. Restaurant itself was quite quiet when we visited and staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere to the place and we were served promptly. We ordered a range of dishes including cannelloni, burgers, fish and chips, curry, mac and cheese - all dishes were fresh and hot and were really delicious. Couldn't fault the quality and we thought it was reasonably priced. The dessert menu was a little limited and not to our taste and the adults ended up not ordering anything - but the kids had the chocolate brownies which again were good.
My only criticism of this place - the toilets, which are located downstairs. They are very dark and dingy and wouldn't look out of place in a seedy nightclub - so dark that when you shut the cubicle door you could barely see what you were doing, not what you would expect here and not great when visiting with kids. Aside from this I would happily recommend eating here and we would definitely visit again.
Great experience and service!
Magda served us and she was excellent, really attentive and wonderful (at only her second week - you go Magda!)
Food was great too. We used a virgin experience voucher but was allowed an allowance from the menu.
We even had bottomless prosecco to go with it, amazing :-)
Disappointed but handled very well
Having been to Gordon Ramsey restaurants before including this one we were incredibly let down by the level of service of here and have found it not to be to the standard of service that the name holds in value on my partners birthday on a night that was not particularly busy.
To start with, our first and only round of drinks didn't come until after we had finished our food, in which no water was filled or left on our table. We chased twice for our drinks, the first time we abruptly were told 'they were coming' ... they weren't and we had to chase again. During this time we could see staff stood in the bar area chatting/getting other tables their drinks.
No one checked on our food while we ate, my partner had no fork and had to request a steak knife. We felt that our table was avoided compared to the other tables as service appeared to look attentive for them. When our drinks arrived after our food there was no apology or ownership for what had happened. We can accept human error happens but it would've been nice to have said if we had been forgotten about but it really seemed like our table was being avoided!
We expected to have some drinks and a full meal and put aside a large amount of money for this occasion but chose to leave after one course as the service just felt like such a waste of time.
The food did taste amazing though, and the manager handled our complaint well, respectfully and took responsibility.
Mediocre - not worth it
A very mediocre experience all round. A forgettable soup to start followed by sea bream which was delivered as a steak and chips. Waiter too busy to get his attention and point this out, so I accepted the steak.
Steak wasn’t great, chips average and a few leaves of salad on the side. No attempt to sell / opportunity to subsequently order anything green on the side.
Ambiance was ok but nowt special.
Has Gordon Ramsey (of whom I a big fan) ever actually visited this place ? Really, you get the same or better (food and service) at Côte for half the price. And if you go to Côte Hays Galleria you get an amazing view of London, not an average basement with a few murals.
Uncultured, racist and rude management
The head waiter or general manager came across as if he didn't want to be there and referred to my son of colour in a manor i don't want to repeat. AVOID.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, amazing service!
We just chanced upon this place in our way to the Shard and decided to book for dinner (thankfully table was available). What a great experience it was! Food was amazing - the chicken curry was the best I’ve had. The greatest credit though I would give to this restaurant is their staff. Everyone we encountered, from reception to the food service team was great. Everyone was so pleasant and really paid attention to our needs. We mentioned that my daughter find the mayo and ketchup jar cute and on our way out, the lady who served us (sorry I didn’t get her name) gave her a jam jar. I know it’s only a small thing but the gesture is just really nice. Good job guys!
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as hoped for
Being fans of Gordon Ramsay, we looked forward to visiting this restaurant. However, while overall we had a pleasant experience, it did not quite meet our expectations. As entrees, the chicken wings and duck salad were fine, but both the burrata (too cold) with beetroots (bland), and the tuna (far too salty) were disappointing. The main courses (hamburgers, ribeye steak and celeriac steak) were OK, but not special enough to impress. All in all a 7 out of 10

Had a lovely afternoon enjoying the cocktail masterclass and platter. Marco was exceptional in explaining the small things that make a cocktail perfect. Came away knowing so much . Had fun helping to create cocktails including Marcos own recipes. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helped craft a lovely atmosphere.
The platter was a great selection of tastes and we stayed on to enjoy dessert and more drinks.
Highly recommend this experience, but would absolutely go again for a meal.
10/10, highly recommend
We were gifted the virgin experience voucher for the cocktail masterclass for 2 with sharing platter, and we were not disappointed! Marco who ran our masterclass was so lovely, knowledgeable and his personal cocktail recipes, wow!
The sharing platter afterwards was incredible as well, we had such a great time!
