The best view ever
Fantastic location, the perfect design of the rooms (very modern with many levels of lights), nice small gestures (Prosecco as a welcome drink, chocolates for good bay), good breakfast. Coffee machine, water, Viennese waffles in the room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. I would recommend the bath towels to be changed for bigger and softer. Then everything will be amazing.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was excellent! The service was wonderful, We had a great experience at the breakfast restaurant!
We loved our stay at the Hotel am Stephansplatz, which has an impressive lobby and a beautiful classic room with high ceilings, and windows that swing open to fresh air and a lovely view of the city Best hotel in Vienna. Excellent service, location and staff is very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the stay immensely. Will definitely return

Very good hotel ideally located in the center of Vienna opposite the Cathedral and near the metro. We appreciated the spacious and very well equipped room as well as the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. We recommend without reservations.
Be the first to ReplyTerrific Location
Terrific hotel. Unbeatable location - right across from St. Stephan's and just a few steps from the metro. The larger rooms (suites) are plenty large for a family of 3 or 4. Breakfast was great, and offers a terrific view St. Stephans and plaza in front of the cathedral. And, also important - every interaction with the hotel staff was very positive and pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyThe best hotel I’ve ever stayed in!
This hotel is absolutely brilliant and they really paid attention to the small details that helped us feel valued and at home during our stay. We were shown around our cathedral room after we checked in, and always greeted with a smile whenever we left or came back to the hotel. The front desk staff helped us work out which metro card to buy during our stay and gave us a few local food recommendations. The room and hotel were extremely clean and modern too. Our room had a cathedral view over the main square, a very busy place right in the heart of Vienna. The triple glazing in the room meant that we heard barely any noise! There was a great selection of food for breakfast and the staff were very friendly and quick with seating and welcoming us. We stayed for 3 nights and will recommend this hotel to anyone we know who is looking to visit Vienna. And we’ll be back too!
Be the first to ReplyCathedral room is just gorgeus
Stayed for three nights with my adult daughter in this excellent hotel. Personnel was lovely and very friendly, I even got a special surpise on my birthday at breakfast. Breakfast was very good, hotel is modern and clean. Situation could not be better! Cathedral is just a few steps away and you can easily walk to the main attractions in central area. Cathedral room is highly recommendated, the view is just breathtaking!
Be the first to ReplyI came in 2013, and have been wanting to come back ever since!
I stayed at Hotel am Stephansplatz with my daughter back in 2013 and we had a great time, so coming with my husband this time we decided to book here again. We had a Classic room last time, which was ideal for our mother/daughter needs. We considered a Cathedral view room this time, but it costs a lot more, and Vienna hotel prices are not cheap, so we decided on Classic again. We had room 408, and it was huge! No view, but a fabulous room nonetheless. I'm sure it was a lot larger than the room we had back in 2013. The shower was large, clean, and great water pressure. Security at the hotel is excellent, you tap your room card to call the lift, which then takes you straight to the floor for your room. Very impressed. Breakfast is lovely, lots to choose from with fabulous views of the cathedral as you eat. Very friendly people serving and just a lovely ambience. The reception staff were all very friendly, always greeting us as we came and went. The chap who showed us to our room was so helpful, showing us how everything works, and returning a few minutes later having realised there was no umbrella in our room! We had a great stay, thanks to everyone working at Hotel an Stephansplatz.
Be the first to ReplyStunning Cathedral Room in the centre of Vienna
From the smiling welcome at the moment we arrived, and the very central unbeatable location, we were happy at this hotel. All of the staff - front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and cafe staff, and the chap who was assisting reception - were all outstanding. The room was perfect - very clean, great bed, great bathroom and shower/bath, molton brown toiletries, and the stunning view. Water was renewed daily, as were the Nespresso pods. Our cathedral room was quiet despite being over the square, and we slept very well. the room looked out over St Stephen's Cathedral. The cafe was great for a coffee/wine break after a good walk around the city. The breakfast staff were so friendly and made a big difference to our stay too. Breakfast offering was good too - good quality and a good selection with a really comfortable environment. The only drawbacks were that the room was a tiny bit warm even for March, and that the TV had only one English-speaking channel which was the usual Sky News. Even booking an airport taxi at the reception was easy and very reasonably priced. We would wholeheartedly recommend this excellent hotel.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel, great staff, great place.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel am Stephansplatz for four nights. Our suite was roomy, well-appointed, comfortable, and super-clean. Breakfasts (included) were varied and tasty. And the hotel staff went over and above to help with airport connections, dining, and more. Add in the ideal location and there's little reason to stay elsewhere when in central Vienna!

Wonderful attentive staff. Comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet is awesome. Our downside would be it’s not around a lot of restaurants. At least 10 minute walk but for senior citizens…Quiet location and close to Lake Zürich. Enjoyable stay
Be the first to ReplyFantastic stay
We had a very enjoyable three nights at the hotel to celebrate my partner's 60th birthday. I booked the Romantic Package. We were very disappointed not to get the cocktails expected in this package - it was the key reason for booking this package over the others on offer (the café where the drinks are served was closed). The hotel did, however, offer us a complimentary mini-bar instead. We didn't make the most of this as we had taken champagne to have the first night, so make sure you use what's in there for it to be restocked. LOCATION: I chose this hotel due to its excellent and wasn't disappointed. The tube station is directly outside. The underground was really useful (travel pass included in hotel package). A lot of sights are within walking or easy commuting distance. Many shops and restaurants surrounded the hotel. DIETARY: I also had the fridge full of lactofree milk, butter and my gluten-free bread, BUT this is the first hotel I've ever stayed in that provided ALL of these things, as well as lactofree yoghurt at breakfast! The BREAKFAST was excellent; good quality meats, cheeses, a selection of fruit and fresh-pressed juices, such as beetroot and apple, carrot and ginger. ROOM: spacious, comfortable bed, triple-glazed windows and air-con, plus separate toilet, shower and bath and separated dressing area with plenty of hanging space, storage and a safe. SERVICE: The staff were helpful and professional at all times. The porter was outstanding, a real asset to the hotel! FOOD: we ate at Plachutta (Wollzeile); very close to the hotel and the meal was fabulous - very traditionally Austrian. I was very nervous about having boiled meat (served in a copper saucepan), but it was excellent, plus I had broth for a starter. Words can't describe how good it was. We also ate a couple of times at the Quest stalls and that too was excellent. We had afternoon coffee and apple strudel at Café Mozart. VERY unimpressed with the service, particularly one member of staff (a young girl who completely ignored us stood waiting to be seated), BUT the apple strudel was divine, and dairy-free. The next day, we went to Café Demel and had coffee and cakes. Everything was excellent, particularly the outstanding service! VIENNA: We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Vienna. We couldn't have picked a worse 4 days weather-wise, bit there was so much to do, it didn't matter. We bought a Vienna Card, which got is into all the attractions free, but only once, so don't rush round thinking you can return to finish the next day. Some places aren't open on Mondays.

From start to finish, a wonderful stay with Boutique Hotel Am Stephansdom. We had a cathedral view room, which was comfortable with everything you need. Nice touches like a proper mini bar and flower seed packets to take home. Nice Molton Brown toiletries. Staff could not have been more helpful and kind. Cafe where breakfast served was a quiet oasis in the city centre. One point deducted because we felt the towels were not big or plentiful enough, and our room was a bit too warm even with the AC on.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful hotel, excellent location
A beautiful hotel in an excellent location opposite St Stefan’s Cathedral in the centre of the city. All of the staff are very friendly and professional, particularly Hanna who really helped us a lot. Everything in this wonderful city is in walking distance from the hotel. And the breakfast is good too!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Hotel, Great Location
If you want a central Vienna hotel then you can’t go wrong here. It’s a very modern looking hotel whilst enjoying a superb view of the ancient cathedral entrance. Room was very comfortable and spacious, breakfast involved a wide selection of tasty items from the buffet. Friendly and attentive staff at reception. Worth noting the careful attention to modern security arrangements- so necessary for such a city centre hotel. Only minor gripe is that they don’t have an evening restaurant.

My partner and I checked in on Monday, 3/13/23 for three nights and had the supreme pleasure of staying in room 703. When we were shown to our room, I just couldn't get over the great view of St Stephens Cathedral. The service was.top notch, the room was clean and modern and the location was superb. We couldn't get over the fact that we were in the middle of where everyone wanted to be. Our room had everything, even heated floors in the bathroom. Also, was impressed with the security of the hotel whereas you needed a room key to even enter an elevator. Without a doubt, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. I wish they had a bar. There was a restaurant/ bar area on the 1st floor but it closes at 7:30 pm and doesn't sell all types of cocktails. You can get wines, coffees, teas, etc- perhaps rethinking this in the future would make it even better. Still, 5 stars all the way.
