Do not waste your time
Long lines, nothing special, some boats in dirty water. A garden like many others. Many more things to see in Mexico City really.

To be honest, there's not much here. But what is here is mostly interesting if not altogether well laid out. It's worth a stop if you're already touring the Chapultapec area, but not a destination venue in and of itself.

Nothing really special about this botanical collection in Chapultepec Park. It is near the twin lakes, about a 10 minute walk from the La Reforma entrance and is free. The exhibits are not that interesting or scenic and are not that well explained. I saw a lot of signage just painted over and left blank. If you are deeply interested in the botany of Mexico this might be an attraction that you would visit. I however found it to be so so.
Be the first to ReplyIt's cute, but don't go out of your way or expect too much! At least it's free.
If they didn't call this a botanical garden, you'd think it was just another corner of Chapultepec Park. It's kinda nice, but doesn't really merit the designation. If you're interested in gardens and flowers and happen to be in the park anyhow, I say take 20 minutes and check it out. But don't even think about going out of your way to visit.
There are some nice plants and cacti, and in a couple of spots someone tried some creative arrangements. Some reviewers mentioned a greenhouse, but the park's website doesn't. The only building here was closed.
Fantastic place!
I have a soft spot for botanical gardens so I may be biased, but this place is really fantastic - small, but filled with interesting plants and flowers, offering a quiet place for a break.

Full of Mexican plants like cacti, ornamental plants, medicinal plants, and shows the various ecosystems such as wetlands and grasslands. There is an Arboretum and Orchidarium with 200 species.

Such an amazing find away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the City .
We spent around 2 hours just wandering around the gardens which are full of great specimens.
We would recommend this to anyone.
amazing
There are also many attractions, museums, zoo, park, castle, more museums, viewpoints, etc. etc. I recommend you go to Chapultepec Castle to the rhythm of each one, you can easily be up in half an hour, without much effort. The views towards reform are the best of the forest. The small museum inside the castle serves as a context for its construction and function that it has had in the history of Mexico. Do not stop visiting the site and return as many times as necessary.

What a surprise! We've been to Bosque Chapultepec many times . . .to tour the castilo, enjoy the crowds, visit the various museums, but this time around we decided to check out the small but lovely botanical gardens. Here, you'll find a kind of botanical history of the city and of Mexico. Wander between carefully tended and arranged beds of lantana and salvia or through the orchid house. Everything is labeled and the collections really give you a sense of the deep and broad botanical history of this great city.
