They have the best chicken rice I've had.
All the dishes we've tried were delicious. If you want to taste dishes from the heart of Singapore, you gotta try this place out

Another popular famous Hainanese chicken rice place with incredibly delicious tasting food. The chicken just melted in my mouth. The pork knuckle had very tender meat on it. The frog legs were also so delectable. The veggies with century egg, prawn toast, and fried tofu were all good too! Filled up mostly on the chicken rice though. For sure will frequent this place again when in Singapore.

Came here and to chatterbox for some mandatory hainanese chicken while vacationing in Singapore. Both were delicious for different reasons, but I would give Boon Tong Kee a slight edge. Chicken: you can order white or dark meat or a combination. So good! It was juicy, so much flavor, and as soon as it get set on the table my mouth was watering. It was my first time ever having Hainanese chicken in Singapore, but just from the smell and look of the chicken, I knew it was going to be amazing. Much more translucent than chicken back in California where I'm from, probably because of how fresh and preservative free it was. However, I would give the chicken from Chatterbox a slight edge. Rice: this is why I like Boon Tong Kee just slightly more. The rice has more of the chicken flavor, hearty, and a stronger smell. Love love love this rice, best rice I've ever had, period! Both restaurants are good, Boon Tong Kee is almost a hole in the wall set up, no one dressed up, older furniture, and chatterbox is very fancy. However, the slight edge goes to Boon Tong Kee for its much more reasonable price.

Flavorful moist chicken rice with excellent ginger, soy, and chili dipping sauces. Chicken was deboned, tender, and room temp as expected. Almost served at every table in the restaurant. This was the star dish of our table. With air conditioning, this is a nicer environment to relax and enjoy the chicken rice compared to the open air hawker stalls which also have great food offerings. Indoor restaurant standard by which other chicken rice indoor vendors should be compared.

The wait can be long but don't let that stop you from checking this place out. My party of five had waited about an hour in line on a Saturday night and needless to say our stomach was growling. Luckily we knew what we wanted and quickly placed our orders right after we were seated. The lime juice was perfectly tangy and refreshing on a hot summer night. We started off with the thick soup with dried scallop, crab meat, and sweet corn (slightly sweet and seafood flavors), the deep fried bean curd with Thai style sauce (super smooth tofu and evenly fried exterior), and fried long bean with beancurd cube, nuts and minced pork (loved the salty and nutty flavor). The signature boiled chicken was of course the main event and the most prized dish on our table. The boneless chicken was amazingly smooth and could have done without any sauce or dressing because that's how tasty it was by itself. We also had the braised Chinese cabbage and the vegetables in sambal sauce, which were as excellent. This was a great and satisfying meal for the entire table and I would be more than happy to return.

So much hiked for the restaurant! we were there early in the morning before the door opened, 15 minutes pass the opening hours being told not ready yet, finally let us in at 21 minutes pass the hours. order the famous Hainanese Chicken with rice and a side of fried shrimp rolls, the food came out with the chicken bland and mushy and no taste, the shrimp rolls with a few small chunk of shrimp and water chestnut, not the one in my memories my mom had make it. the food are worst in Singapore, wondering how would so much raving for the food in the restaurant. it's a shame for the country and the local community. STOP sending tourist to taste the worst of the worst food and experience in Singapore. Thank you...

Absolutely perfect for tourists looking for an easy transition to the local cuisine. I would recommend the boiled chicken and rice - be sure to request the chicken tepid. The food comes out in 2 minutes flat so you know the chef's working some magic back in the kitchen. Literally record setting efficiency if you think about it. They also bring you the check with the food, which is another testament to their efficiency. The proactive service is convenient because at this point in the meal you should probably pay and just walk the 50 feet to the nearest McDonalds and order a quarter pounder with cheese. All in all great dining experience.

Everyone told me before traveling to Singapore that i MUST have Chicken Rice while there. I thought... what's the big deal...I have had chicken and rice... no no no Southern Silly, this is Chicken Rice. Asked the concierge for the best Chicken Rice recommendation and he sent us here. We were so stupid excited to try the infamous chicken rice that when they brought out this little bowl of rice, we asked the waitress twice if this was really it? LOL I am sure we looked ridiculous....BUT.... when we tried it... omg. No Words. Little grains of perfection, writing a review about it a year later because I can never forget. Will count down the days till I get back!

Hainanese Chicken Rice is one of my favorite local delicacies. Chicken is well-cooked, tender and juicy and goes really well with the gravy! A must-try food if you ever get to visit Singapore.

The main dish is chicken rice, of course, and the taste is quite different from other chicken rice. The best part is the rice, IMO.The packaging for a take away order is nice as well.In summary: still considered as the best chicken rice in Sg!

BTK is another popular chicken rice brand in Singapore, and one of my favourite too, the other being Tian Tian. Both are equally good, with its chicken meat being tender and tasty. However, BTK does come across as lighter in taste while Tian Tian is a bit more saltier. Really depends on individual liking but I like both equally.
