Bones Restaurant Atlanta Reviews
Bones, Bones, ur the best in ATL .
Service , food , atmosphere, staff . Party of 8 no one complained about anything which is unusual for my family. I was running late so I called to let them know. They took my walker and helped me to the dining table.
Me and my husband have been coming here for over 10 years.
He proposed at this place. They remembered. Every year we have come back to celebrate our anniversary. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is so amazing. The wait staff is exceptional. They will hold your date's drink for her as she walks down the stairs. I love this place and I call it home. Thank you to Bones for a memorable and wonderful 10 year anniversary dinner. We will always come back.
Hard to say anything bad about Bones.
The food was solid with reasonably priced cocktails. Bones however stands out with their attention to detail with the service they provide with many on staff having worked there for some time. You can tell how long they've worked there by the number of stars in their uniform with each star representing a five year period. Bones has typical old school steakhouse vibes. Would have preferred to have had more than one dry aged choice (ribeye)
The food was absolutely delectable.
The service was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive, friendly, and efficient. We went for my partner's birthday and they decorated the table for him as well. Dining here has always been such a pleasurable experience and we always look forward to our next visit back.

I have been here a dozen times in the past 10 years, and have loved it every time. Whenever I go here for a special occasion, it truly does feel special. The servers always know how to tend to your needs even before you think you need it. Not once have I gone here and the food hasn't been one of the best things I've eaten. I never order steaks from a restaurant, as I know I can make better steaks at home, except for this place. Bones truly does know how to make a steak better than any restaurant I've seen. Every time I come here, the tone is always so calm and peaceful. This is definitely a go-to restaurant in Atlanta.
Incredibly overrated.
Not worth the money. Absurdly stupid dress code -- you need to wear pants when it's 90 outside. Filled with old farts. Skip it.
Worst
They won’t let 14 years old kids in nice shirts and long shirts but they wanted to put them at the bar ?????? Not table at the bar but an actual bar ?! Awful experience.
Had an excellent dry-aged steak--pricey, but worth it.
Sat at the bar and was thoroughly entertained by one of the funniest bartenders I've ever met.
OMG! I thought I had stepped into the mobsters
OMG! I thought I had stepped into the mobsters headquarters! Lol! The ambience is amazing though seriously with the dark wood and impeccable decor! Valet was my favorite part due to it being complimentary and easy but of course my date tipped $20... the dinner and servers are all top notch and the $600 we spent was amazingly deserving! We both ordered the Jap Waguy $169 each Scottish Salmon and Cubed crab for appetizers and two dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Thank you Bones

I think the customer service here is really good and it's a nice environment. I think I had higher hopes on the food because of all the reviews. The steak was okay, we got the dry aged ribeye for 2 and we've gone to a lot of steak houses. It wasn't bad but we've just had better steaks before. So I was expecting it to be the same quality if not better than what we've had in the dc area. The staff was really nice though! but I don't think the food is all that
Bones easily ranks in my top 3 steakhouses of all time --
Bones easily ranks in my top 3 steakhouses of all time -- and that's saying a lot. From the moment we walked in, everything was on point. The service was exceptional -- professional, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling rushed. We started with a few appetizers, all of which set the tone for an incredible meal. But the real star of the night was the porterhouse steak, which I upgraded with foie gras -- and wow. Rich, tender, perfectly cooked, and indulgent in all the right ways. It was nothing short of phenomenal. The sides were just as impressive -- the truffle mashed potatoes were creamy and fragrant, and the mac & cheese with bacon was the perfect comfort-food-meets-upscale-dining moment. Every bite felt like a win. If you're looking for a steakhouse that delivers across the board -- food, service, and atmosphere -- Bones is the one. An unforgettable meal that absolutely deserves every one of these five stars.
Good Not Great (For The Price)
Three of us went to Bones recently. Very nice steakhouse. The service and the food were great. Order a $160 bottle of wine and cocktails. Shared 2 appetizers and 2 desserts. The bill came out at around $220 per person with tip and tax. It was a good meal, but not as memorable as other steakhouses that we have visited at the same price point. Glad we went, but not sure we need to go back anytime soon.
Terrific Steak House
This is a classic steak house offering a nice setting, superb service, an extensive menu and excellent food. My bone-in-filet was excellent, and so too were the hash browns. The cocktails are strong too.
Not at all up to standards
As a long time loyal Bones fan, we are going to put them at the very bottom of our go to list. Sat at the bar as usual. Charles was our waiter. Answered two questions with his back to us. Was not the least bit attentive to us in our two hours there. Food was mediocre and not hot. $400.00 after tip was extremely disappointing It has always been our favorite place. We always feel special when we visit for special nights. This visit, they didn’t seem to care if we were there or not. We felt like it was just a transaction.
A steakhouse deserving of its great reputation.
Intimate dining with friendly, well trained staff. The food was delicious and served promptly and at the appropriate intervals. A thoroughly enjoyable evening to celebrate my birthday.
Yes...this is the one
I see why this is rated so high... Skip the franchise steak houses... Trust me... Classy atmosphere, high quality well prepared food - impeccable service.
Nice But A Bit Underwhelming
I can’t understand why this is Atlanta’s best steakhouse. The food is very good but rather basic. Absolutely no creativity. We enjoyed ourselves but it’s not a place I would rush back to. Have enjoyed much better steak restaurants all over the country and world.
Tasty Grub in Dublin
Savage meat feast! Juicy chops and sausages cooked to perfection. A must-try for meat lovers. Pure class and must try :0
2x This Month - Consistent Quality
Simply never amiss. If you want a quality meal with excellent service and freshness, this is the place. Tell them if a special occasion; they make is special in a classy way.
I love their cheese cake
I came to this place during the first week of September and I love it especially their cheese cake. I would recommend ya'll give this place a try.

This is an absolutely amazing restaurant that combines the best service with the best food in the city Every time we go there, our new amazing items or we can stick to the classics . Highly recommended
A real old-school steakhouse!
The perfect steakhouse, in my opinion, is one that embraces a classic, old-school ambiance. When I visited this particular steakhouse, I was immediately drawn in by its nostalgic charm. We opted to sit at the bar, where the friendly bartender and the camaraderie among the patrons set a welcoming tone for the evening. One of the highlights was the jumbo shrimp we ordered as an appetizer. True to its name, it was enormous and perfectly prepared. For the main course, we shared a ribeye steak for two. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a rich, flavorful profile that was simply unforgettable. An unexpected delight was the hash brown potatoes served with sour cream, a refreshing change from the usual baked potato. This side dish added a unique touch to our meal and paired wonderfully with the steak. If you’re seeking an authentic steakhouse experience that stays true to traditional roots, this old-school establishment is a must-visit.
Great evening
What a steakhouse should be. Dark wood, great wine list, and perfectly cooked steaks and sides! Get the onion rings awesome. The filets were cooked perfectly service was attentive. I would recommend and definitely return here!
10/10 we had a great dinner here for my husband's birthday.
His steak was amazing I will get that next time and the veal was good I just love the texture of steak more. They brought out a dessert which was also delicious
This is what fine dining is all about.
Not only was the food spectacular but the quaint ambiance was amazing. But to top everything off, this was the best service I've ever received at a steakhouse. The bartenders have worked there for years and know their shit. Fantastic experience. Located in the best part of Atlanta (Buckhead) this place lived up to expectations. It's not often you find mom and pop type steakhouses with this kind of atmosphere and service. I can't stress enough about how amazing the service was. Every time I went to the restroom I had a new napkin folded and waiting for me. Every time I took a sip of water my glass was full. If my drink was getting low, it was replaced immediately with a new one. One of the best fine dining experiences I have had. If you're in Buckhead no need to look any further. Head to the bar and have yourself a night. Cheers.
Kids are not allowed
Drove over 45 miles with my wife and toddler son, only to be informed by the valet that kids or toddlers below a certain age were not allowed. What an embarrassment and shame.
Great steak house
Very much an old style bar as you enter; feels congenial. The staff are polite if on occasions over chatty, but that’s more American than European. The food was delicious, we ordered grilled octopus. The portions are generous so we shared the starter. The steaks were cooked as requested. The only factor that gave us reservations was that the wine, an Amerone, was quite cold. The explanation being that was how the storage was. In our opinion, that was unsatisfactory, but it warmed gradually so not a problem. The deserts looked scrummy but we had no room.
The best steak and the best meal in a restaurant that I've
The best steak and the best meal in a restaurant that I've ever had! Not kidding! Got the 12 oz New York Strip and sautéed mushrooms and asparagus. My aunt got the short ribs. Mark was our waiter. Service was impeccable! Will be back!!
We came here for my 40th birthday on a trip to Atlanta.
They were amazing. Our table was decorated, everyone was so friendly and kind, and the food was fantastic. My husband still dreams of the fresh bread they bring out. They even came out with an enormous slice of ice cream cake. It was a fantastic way to spend my birthday. We will certainly be back if/when return to Atlanta
Fantastic service and ambiance.
Great drinks, served in chilled glasses (which isn't done nearly often enough). Only quibble is that the food - steak au poivre and lobster - wasn't *quite* as good you expect at an elite restaurant. Could've been an off day, but I have had better steak at inferior restaurants.
Mother's Day 2024 - 545pm reservation My daughter's
Mother's Day 2024 - 545pm reservation My daughter's godmother lives in Antigua & came to visit overnight. She invited us to dinner with her mother. It was supposed to be special. Idk if she booked online or via telephone. I drove 32 mins from South Fulton to park @ valet. There was a Caucasian older male named Chris who stopped us. I was getting out of my car & said, "Hi please wait, I need to get my baby out!" He told me, "I don't believe you can go inside. It's age 6 and older for kids? Idk maybe you can check!" I called the restaurant from my car & a man answered the phone to confirm there's an age minimum & mentioned it's listed on the website. Super tiny print age 6 to 106! I'm glad no one was 107!! I saw a Caucasian family of three people, a woman, teen girl (maybe age 15/16 low cut, short mini halter dress, bright orange or pink) & young boy (maybe age 9/10, collared shirt & tan shorts). This stood out to me because they "supposedly" have a dress code as well. I was so disappointed & hurt. This was our only dinner plans for baby's godmother being in the U.S. Also, everything in town was booked. She tried to call other restaurants on the spot. Why not have a section to the side w/ select tables & closed doors? Family friendly. Parents of young children deserve fine dining. If you're gonna bend ONE or two rules, you better bend them ALL! I was blocking the valet entry & decided to turn around & leave. I rolled my window down to ask Chris, "Should I move to the side?" He had an attitude by then, rude tone, abrupt & he says "Well yeah eventually. Ya'll just need to sort it out or whatever and move" threw his hands up & rushed to park other cars. I specifically asked for his name after that. I told my friend to go on without me & treat her mom to dinner. They honored the reservation for the two of them by 556pm. I was soooo disappointed & cried all the way back home. Shame on you Bones for discriminating against a mother on Mother's Day. If a person were to be age 30 with a tall 5 y/o, how do you know? If a person who's age 60 had too many drinks & talks too loudly, it doesn't matter. It is assumed that young children ruin dinner. I will not visit this restaurant again!
Made a reservation for Bones during a business trip back to
Made a reservation for Bones during a business trip back to atlanta. It was a must as bones is one of my fav steakhouse in the country. The food is so good, the steak quality and sides are top notch and the service is worth the price of admission. I recommend bones for date night, celebration dinners or just because you enjoy quality steaks
Iconic.
Always great food. Wonderful service. Perfect for a special occasion or to treat yourself.
Always the best service and steaks around, a true classic
Always the best service and steaks around, a true classic for any fine dining connoisseur
Good experiance
Nice place for a fancy dinner, we had nice private dining room for us which was great. Start was not perfect as my aperol spirtz was horrible bit the red wine to come was quite good. For starter i had the tuna and that was excellent evening a rather small portion and the the 2,5 Pound lobster which was cleaned an jummy along some super tasty grilled asparagus and their very good fries. Overall food was excellent, pricewise quite ok for what you get not cheap but great food and service.
The place for Steak
Food was amazing. Enjoyed the Rib eye which was cooked to perfection. Service from our main waiter was a little inattentive, we had to remind him of things ordered that had not been brought. Luckily he had back up help which made all the difference. Atmosphere is a little stuffy and dated. I get how this could be some of the charm for some but wasn’t to our taste. I would give it a 4.5 if TA allowed it as it only lost points for the service and atmosphere.
Best Anniversary Dinner!
My husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and we had the best time. Service was amazing from star to first. Our server was awesome, the host was awesome even the bar tender did his thing. They had the table decorated for us and we just had a wonderful time.
Great place
Great food. Great service A must in Atlanta Great waiter, knowledgeable Location Decor is ok I always try to make it there Been many times
Yet Another Incredible Private Event at Bones
Bones delivers once again with impeccable service and outstanding food.! We had a party of 14 in a private room for our coed Book Club. The waiter { I regret I don’t remember his name) could not have been more attentive. He handled the crowd with aplomb and adeptly got all the orders right. The group had such a great time interacting and discussing the book. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we were encouraged to stay as long as we wanted. We all had a variety of menu items…lobster, various cuts of steak, chicken, etc…all were perfection. I have to highly recommend the salmon appetizer and the Caesar salad. You cannot go wrong at Bones and can count on some old fashioned class and decorum . Getting harder to find these days which makes me appreciate them even more.
One of the best steakhouse restaurants
Amazing steak dinner at Bones and the wagyu is definitely worth the splurge! The wine list is extensive and has all price ranges. Save room for the mountain high pie dessert and you will be happy you did. Service was great and overall a very nice experience.
Bones prepares their steaks in their own style.
The steak comes out juicy and moist and perfectly cooked. I'm not a huge fan of the side dishes, but they are typical for a steakhouse.Bones does recognize that many of their clients have wine cellars and entices them to choose Bones with a $15 corkage fee. Kudos for being a restaurant that recognizes this opportunity and doesn't treat their clients like they're trying to cheat them out of liquor profits (Bacchanalia doubled their corkage fee from a fair $25 to a crazy $50 per bottle).
Service is above and beyond.
A true class act of an Atlanta steakhouse. Great for a birthdays or celebrations, must order the mountain high pie + dirty martini, shaken in an individual shaker and poured tableside with blue cheese olive garnish

There are so many better options for a steakhouse in Buckhead. This one is good...not great and prices are crazy high. You would be better served elsewhere.
For the cost have ate at much better steak houses.
Food was good but at 300 per person it should be great
The food and service was spectacular.
The only recommendation I have is that they update the interior. It's so dated, like back to the 80s. I also have a pet peeve with restaurants that have carpeting because no matter how much you clean it .....it will never be clean!
Exactly what you would expect from this expensive
Exactly what you would expect from this expensive traditional steak house. Impeccable service, good food, big drinks. Big room, big tables and nicely appointed available private rooms. Honestly, you should already know if this is the place for you, and if it is, you'll get exactly what came for and will not be disappointed. The check will be exactly what you expected too.
The best steakhouse in Atlanta hands down and one of my top
The best steakhouse in Atlanta hands down and one of my top 2 steakhouses in the country. Absolutely superb in every way.
Easy to book a table.
Showed up and got seated instantly. They have free valet parking. I made a note that me and my fiancé were coming from our proposal and they did read it and gave us complementary champagne. We ordered a drink that we ended up not caring for and they took it off our tab. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. It's definitely not the cheapest place but it's worth every penny.
The steak was delicious and Jonathan's service was
The steak was delicious and Jonathan's service was outstanding. I felt like the mashed potatoes were a little heavy on the truffle flavor but cannot knock down the rating as that's what I ordered. My only complaint was we were seated in the basement and both tables beside us were almost yelling to converse. It was very hard to even enjoy our dinner considering my husband and I could hardly converse due to how loud it was. Once we made our way upstairs to walk out it was such an enjoyable environment.
The good: It's a high-end steakhouse.
So they're pretty on point with their service. Their sides were pretty good too. Not a fan of their onion rings. The lobster bisque was salty. Hashbrowns and Spinich were really good. The best thing honestly was the bread. The bad: I had better steaks at Outback. Whoever is making the steaks need to be fired. It was perfectly cooked however it wasn't well prepared. First, it was unevenly seasoned. The meat was tough at times (which goes to the quality). I've read reviews that this place is the same as Peter Lugars. It's a lie. The conclusion:I would come back for a dinner party but I would NOT get the steaks.
