Boathouse At The Riverside Fort Lauderdale Reviews from The Last Year
Last stop on Water Taxi
We took the water taxi and got off at this stop and had drinks and apps here. It is beautiful location and the bartender was great! Unfortunately, I do not remember his name, but he made a wonder chocolate martini! Food was good as well. I will definitely be back the next time in FLL
I've been here a few times.
I love the atmosphere and views. I sit at the bar and have always been welcomed and had friendly and helpful bartenders. The food I've had has been pretty good. I tried the flatbread once and also had the spicy chicken pasta which was delicious and not too spicy since I cannot handle spice. The cocktails weren't my favorite but they have nice wine. Great happy hour and nice people around.
food poisoning palace!
All three of us ordered the “pumpkin swordfish” special,at lunch with cole slaw. Within 24 hours we each had the worst food poisoning ever. Projectile vomiting and continuous runs. When we tried to call the restaurant to see if other diners had the same experience, all we got was A I generated voice prompts. No one would answer the phone. Absolute worst restaurant experience ever. Plenty of other riverside places that won’t make you sick.

Happy hour 4-6:30 Monday-Friday! I went for happy hour with some friends and we were able to sit right on the dock. Being next to the water with umbrellas for shade made for the perfect ambience. The service was quick and friendly. Drinks are half off during happy hour and they have a happy hour menu for food too. There is valet parking out front or you can self park for a fee with pay by phone parking. Without the happy hour this place can be pricey but overall would recommend for a happy hour spot!
A good place to eat along the New River
This was a nice place to have a meal down by the New River and watch the boats go by. This was actually the first place I went when I arrived in Ft.Lauderdale because I was interested in having a meal and then walking along the New River. The food here was good and the staff was friendly. I was able to sit right along the river while I had lunch.

Whenever I have friends or family visiting, I take them to the Boathouse. They are conveniently located behind the Riverside Hotel and have a great weekday happy hour along with amazing views of the water. The food is also very good and the waiters are very attentive, even when it is busy! I usually come for the happy hour and get appetizers to start while I wait for the sunset.
Great happy hour and affordable! Water taxi ticket gets you 10% offf
Three appetizers and 7 drinks for $70! Amazing service! Good food! A must if want a good happy hour! Beautiful view and great to watch boats coming and going!
Service and location are both great.
Problem is the food. Nothing we got was good, it was all fine, but I could close my eyes and stumble on a better meal anywhere nearby. For reference we got the Brussels sprouts, they were burnt. The fritters were fine but not very good. My wife had the scallop risotto and again it was fine but scallops were small and flavors were strange. I got the steak and it was waaay too sweet even for a "Hawaiian Ribeye" - cooked perfectly though. In short, you're better off going anywhere else. I wish the place could get a total makeover because the location is A+.
Wonderful restaurant!
Wonderful restaurant, bar, and location. It is right on the new river and has a great vibe. Plenty of shade and awesome food! I like to ensure I always come back occasionally!
We got a gift card for this restaurant and so off we went.
There is public parking nearby at about $3 an hour. I was told that I needed reservations or the wait could average 45 minutes. But when we got there for our 7 p.m. reservation on a Monday evening I waited while they seated two couples who did not have reservations. The best thing about his place is the waterfront dining. Although we made reservations for the dining room (and not the dock), there is no inside dining. All dining is outside. Albeit the dining room has a covered roof with the sides open (there were awnings that could be drawn down if it rained or if the sun were really hot). There is dock seating with no roof. On a cool evening the view was pleasant and the breeze was welcomed. I shudder to think what it would be like on a hot day, but they had lots of ceiling fans and what looked like other special fans to cool off the area. While the server, Traci, was pleasant. There was very little interaction or conversation between her and us. She took our order, picked up plates, brought the necessary items, refilled the water, and brought our check. The best thing we ate was the coconut lime snapper ceviche. The sauce was delicious and even after finishing the fish (which could have been cut into thinner slices instead of chunks, so they could absorb the ceviche sauce more), we poured the sauce onto our chips so we could eat it all. The Key West conch fritters were bready and had a spice I could not pinpoint that gave it an unusual (not good) taste. We had the mahi fish sandwich and the mahi tacos. Everything seemed to be accompanied by pickled onions and a pico de gallo/cilantro sauce. The homemade potato chips that came with the sandwich were OK. But we ordered a side of fries (only $3) that were crisp and delicious and a much better side dish. They had a special banana bread-bread pudding that we shared. It was a small portion for $14 and way too sweet for me. Dinner for two with two appetizers, two small entrees, and one dessert with tax and tip was $106. Our $50 gift card covered a large portion.
GREAT SERVICE, FOOD & LOCATION!!!
GREAT AS ALWAYS.!!! Seated quickly by the outstanding manager Scott. Greeted by our server, Gloria…who was friendly, efficient and also outstanding all around! Enjoyed our lunch with the beautiful, waterside covered area to make things perfect! Food was so good… THANKS for a lovely lunch!!!

Thank you to Terrance for arranging our reservations for after the theater. We had a wonderful table for six with a water view. Our server was great from our waters to our coffee. Six different meals all arrived at the same time exactly as ordered. Everyone at the table raved about the food, the view and the service. Thank you again for making our night wonderful!

Thanks Brooke for great service, recommendations, and a friendly welcoming demeanor! You made it all juat a bit more perfect. Great spot for eating outside with a great view. Five of us and we all finished every bite on our plates. Frim steak salad to french toast to some churizo huge dish to.the cookie and ice cream. Made reservations, and we were seated right on time. Overall... just perfect.
Riverfront Dining
You can't beat the location on the river to enjoy a special meal. Traci was our server and was top notch. We had the Key West Fritters & Loaded Potato Dippers for appetizers. My husband had the Grilled Swordfish + Cous Cous and I had the Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta. We both thought the food was excellent and reasonably priced. If you are looking for waterfront dining experience in the Las Oas area, don't miss the Boathouse at the Riverside.
Terrence is great.
My wife and I love this spot because of its proximity to the new river in Fort Lauderdale. Very low-key and the food is good. But Terrence, the manager is truly what makes a place like this exceptional. we asked for a table by the river, but had a small toddler and an infant with us which is a little harder to seat. We understand the service would be gladly waited. Terrence soon came up and explained that he had the perfect table for us, and walked us out to the dock. it was perfect with a perfect view of the passing boats for my toddler to point and giggle at. Highly recommend.
Fabulous location but wish the food was too
Ambiance is great good vibe and service. I ordered the fish tacos and they were very bland and plain. Nice portion fish island but little flavour. Fresh guacamole on the fish but a lot more zest to the toppings and fish are needed. Would not order my meal again. Hubby had the steak salad and it was ok. It was fun to watch the boats go by and location wise it is really nice to sit riverside. Food quality is high but much more pizzaz and flavour are needed.
Nice food but some awful tables and unfriendly staff
We are staying at the riverside hotel and called to ensure we could get a table as my mother walks with a stick and we didn’t want to get there to find no table availability or anywhere to sit and wait. We were told no concessions for handicap people and we would have to just walk over and wait. When we arrived it was evident that the person we had spoken to was the lady on the reception as she was cold and un-inviting. Not what you’d expect from customer service industry and made it like she was doing us a favour. The table we were give was awful and around the corner from the main dining area. There were several other tables vacant to inquired if we could move and were told that since we had been seated already we couldn’t move. If the vacant table was reserved I would understand but this reason was unacceptable. Food was very nice so such a shame the above tainted the experience.
Great Las Olas restaurant right on the riverside.
Perfect location on the riverbank and adjacent to the riverside hotel which is ideal for guests staying there. Service is good and attentive. Drinks are as they should be and the food is satisfying. Reasonable prices.
Wonderful night out
Amazing food. (Chicken sandwich, fish tacos, ceviche, sword fish, and banana bread pudding were outstanding.) Fantastic view. Perfect service from Jackie! Thank you for a wonderful evening out with dear friends!
Had such high hopes for this place….
I was so excited to find what looked like a gem of a place for our post cruise stay in FL & recommended it to other cruisers based on website…. Maybe we were super unlucky but service at bar took approx 10 minutes before anyone approached us to take our drinks order; part way through our starters (nice nothing special) our waiter came over to ask if we wanted another drink - we had been planning on having a bottle but given just how basic the restaurant seemed I communicated facially to my husband that we should move on somewhere nicer…. This all took too long for our waiter who then banged twice on our table and said “I asked if you wanted another drink!” Honestly, I was so taken aback by him that I would have no desire to ever visit again as clearly treating customers with respect doesn’t feature highly. Such a shame as gorgeous location & we had breakfast at hotel’s place on las olas the following morning & the experience was exceptional; even had a robot helping the lovely staff with our food delivery
Best spot
Great spot on river for drinks and food. Love the breakfast out front. Always friendly and inviting staff. Getting better over the years.

The boathouse is a wonderful place to take visitors with a wonderful view of the new river and yachts, moving up and down the waterway. The light fare is very good, excellent sandwiches, and salads. I've had all, and I've never been disappointed. Service needs help. The wait staff is, at best impatient, borderline surly and the headwaiter was about to melt down when we walked in.
Nice little spot off the beaten path from Las Olas.
Right behind the New River Hotel. Food was fresh & well seasoned. All the flavors went well with each item we picked. Wish that the past plate was a little more generous with the pasta side of things because there was a ton of sauce at the bottom for another nice heaping serving! The mussels also had a nice base that could be turned into a brother soup on its own. Their Honey Old Fashion was spectacular, but their bottle of Moscato as a refresher was a 375ML vs. 750ML, so it's not totally worth getting. Service was nice but at times a bit slow. However, given that it was St. Patrick's Day weekend it is to be expected. Overall, I enjoyed the outside sitting area by the river. A very touristic experience for us local.

3/11/2024-5:15pm Happy Hour My new favorite waterfront restaurant in Fort Lauderdale! The views, the food, the amazing staff, the attentive service and the vibe are all 5 Star! I came from Palm Beach to see Dave Mason in concert at the Parker and I love the Riverside Hotel! My research on great Happy Hours on Las Olas brought me to the Boathouse! After living in Lauderdale by the Sea for so many years I had never been to the Boathouse! So glad I finally did.. I will never stray! Sat at the bar which still gives you a view of gliding yachts going by.. a lively vibe enhanced by 2 amazing bartenders! Wow! Busy, yet still attentive and welcoming! Gabriel and Jean-Marc moved in sync to a very fast paced crowd! Never leaving anyone without a drink or food! I honestly don't know how they did it! It was happy hour and look at my pictures for their happy hour menus and prices! I ordered the Smugglers Old Fashion which was absolutely delicious and half price at HH! Like I said the best HH on Las Olas and maybe even Fort Lauderdale! I ordered the Fried Cheese Curds with Hot Honey! Yes, anything soaked with hot honey will be delicious but they were definitely over fried and hard as a rock. With that said I wouldn't order again but they were still yummy and yes I ate all of them.. they were a huge portion too. I did see the burger slider and the shrimp hh dishes and will definitely order them next visit. All of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked delicious! I can't wait to come back! I'm scheduled to stay at The Riverside Hotel 2 or 3 times in the next 6 months.. their menu offers something for every taste and diet at very affordable prices! I highly recommend and can't wait to come back!!

Delishious food and drinks! Its only posted online but they do happy hour from 3-6:30 for 1/2 off any drinks not on the cocktail specials menu. Got the shrimp lasta dish which tasted amazing! Very fresh. Ceasar salad to start was also delish. Good dressing. Got espresso martinis and lemon drops. Friends got the spicy chicken pasta which they also loved. Awesome views outside watching people go by in their boats. Server zach was so sweet and very attentive.

Ok. Checked this place out again. Sat at the beautiful intracoastal front patio bar and never got a greeting from the sole bartender and one helper. I requested service from him after 7 minutes and he stated its gonna be five minutes since he had to make two drinks to other patrons. Well, the bar was busy but then hire another bartender I thought, so based on his response we all left to another bar for food and cocktails around the corner. I was extremely surprised and embarrased since I brought others with us to this prime location. Its a management issue not a bartender issue. Anyways, I must downgrade to 2.5 stars and the half star was for the view. (Lowest score ever given)
This waterfront restaurant located behind the Riverside
This waterfront restaurant located behind the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. They have a great happy hour Monday to Friday from 4-6:30 with 50% off drinks and $4 and $6 appetizers. The bar was packed and it took awhile to order. We had a Blue Moon beer $3.50, Tequila Sunrise $5, and the Bang Bang Shrimp $6. Not like the ones at Bonefish. The view of the river is so nice and a great atmosphere.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
