The food is both beautiful and tasty.
Our server was fast and polite. The Korean rib app fell off the bone and they could serve a bowl of the sauce alone. The sushi looked artistic, time was spent making everything look perfect. The problem is while the sushi was flavorful I couldn't really compare it to other sushi locations I've been to. None of it had the simple and elegant flavor I'd associate with great sushi. Everything was just too much flash, you couldn't taste the individual ingredients or appreciate the texture. The volcano roll is served drowned in a spicy mayo sauce that takes over completely and makes the dish too rich. Again, everything was beautiful and the apps were beyond incredible but the sushi was disappointing in that it wasn't elegant. It was more Americanized than you'd want out of sushi.

Be the first to ReplyBooked a dinner reservation on OpenTable for 2 the morning
Booked a dinner reservation on OpenTable for 2 the morning of. I specified that I would need a high chair for the table (We have a toddler). I get a call one hour before the reservation canceling it. I was informed I should have booked it for 3 and they would not accommodate us this evening. Last I checked high chairs are pretty common. I guess not here. Very frustrating considering it is the week of the fourth and now every other restaurant is booked up this evening. Look elsewhere if you have children. Not baby friendly.

Decor was nice; what you'd expect from a somewhat upscale sushi place. The staff checked in frequently and were organized and friendly. The food was good but not overly unique. Hamachi carpaccio could have used some more flavor to make it more interesting. Cocktails were excellent and had a lot of options for both sake and martinis. The pad Thai, bao buns, and poke bowls were all surprisingly large portions. We went with group of ten and they managed it perfectly and all the food came out as ordered and quickly.

25 We were able to get the last reservation of the evening! You definitely need one to get into this Chatham trendy spot. The atmosphere is great, tables are close together but the noise level is loud enough that you won't feel like you're listening to the neighboring table. Customer service was fantastic! Greeter at the door! attentive host table quick service for water Knowledgeable waiter that had excellent timing . And then there is the food... We decided to order the special pork dumplings which were tasty but they came out cold. We also ordered the Cilantro lime shrimp. Excellent quality shrimp but the toast with mustard on it? I didn't understand it! I'm a shrimp lover so wanted to love this dish but I really didn't. Sauce was okay at best. Entrees ordered were the panko crusted haddock and the salmon teriyaki. Both felt like a "Wednesday night meal" as my husband described it. Okay, yes we eat well during the week but both dishes were fine but not life changing. The haddock beurre blanc was flavorless. Fish was forgettable. The vegetables asparagus and carrots were perfectly cooked. Rice was delicious once I put the soy sauce on it! Overall, I enjoyed the evening but the only way I would go back is to try a night here for sushi. Next time! And then I hope to increase my rating.

..bluefins has gone downhill over the years. Each time we go I'm hoping it'll be better but I can say this time I won't be back. Two things: the staff and the tipping culture. The staff is always so rude! They act as if they're above everyone. The managers are sassy and arrogant. I've worked in restaurants growing up so I really understand the industry. Treat people with respect. Now about the tips. The hosts that bring your food out think they deserve 20% for taking your order. If you don't tip at least 20% you're given the most ridiculous looks and comments from them. They question why that's all you're giving and are just so rude! I don't think 20% is deserved for answering the phone and walking 10 feet to bring food out. Can they come back to reality? I ALWAYS tip well to the waitstaff who work hard but take out isn't hard work. Stop expecting people to hand out money for your rude attitude. Food gets worse every time. Can't wait for 3 monkeys to open!!

The food was good but the atmosphere was really dark and it hurt my head. The service was very quick however as we got our food in a speedy fashion. Overall I would recommend going. I ordered the nigiri sake and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.
Be the first to ReplyBluefins is a casual, unassuming, and friendly restaurant
Bluefins is a casual, unassuming, and friendly restaurant in Chatham. You might be skeptical that the food would be somewhat middle-of-road, but they're actually excellent. For one, the bar is extremely competent. The cocktails are more creative, and mixed up with way more finesse than you'd expect for a casual joint. Definitely worth having a few. Not all of the food is first-rate (some of the hot dishes are ho-hum), but the sushi and special rolls are terrific. The service is really friendly. All in all, you can count on a great meal and a lovely evening out in Chatham here!

This place was recommended to me by my sister in law! My husband and I came in on a Saturday night with no reservations and they were able to sit us at the sushi bar right away which we were pretty happy about. The oysters are so huge and good, we had to get a dozen of them. I got the lobster dip bc another reviewer recommended it and it was nothing special. My husband got the burger which he said was pretty good. I would definitely recommend the Surf N Turf roll. It comes with 10 pieces, is cooked and that seared beef (omg yum!) Would definitely come back because we know what's good here now!
Be the first to ReplyOur experience fired on all cylinders.
Our table was ready before our reservation and we received a text message to inform us. Seated promptly, our serve was attentive and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the ginger & lychee martinis, as well as the mai Tai and spicy jalapeno margarita. The sushi rolls and mains were excellent. As were the homemade pork dumpling special and blueberry cheesecake. The only miss was the miso soup which was bland. The food was quick, many attentive staff and quality proteins made our experience enjoyable!
Be the first to ReplyPretty good fare.
Easy takeout. For takeout, you just pull up out front, and someone comes out with your food and payment options. You don't even have to call when you arrive. The food was all fine. Nothing bad. Nothing amazing. Had the bao buns, which were way bigger than expected. They reheated well. Two cooked sushi rolls. Pad Thai with shrimp, which was a hearty portion. I'd eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyI was able to snag a table on a Friday night as a walk in.
I started off with the Lobster Dip. The wonton chips were a different spin that was delightful. Then I had the Surf and Turf sushi, which was a treat. I'd definitely go again if I was in the area

I give the restaurant two stars because of location and ambiance only as for food- it left much to be desired. i've never been more disappointed leaving a restaurant. the spicy tuna rolls and the yellowtail rolls that were ordered should have been renamed the cucumber tuna rolls because they were 2/3 cucumber and 1/3 tuna. the pork dumplings came out lukewarm and lacking a nice sear. the angry dragon roll was good but honestly, I expect everything to be good given the pricing. when I voiced my dissatisfaction with the waitress, she was gracious and provided good service... However, all I was offered was one of the three sushi rolls to be removed off the bill. I am more than annoyed that I had to pay almost 30 buck for the other two cucumber rolls they left on the bill. Needless to say, I will sadly not return. as far as cost- yes, expensive and to be expected. I don't mind paying when the food is on point. Tonight however, I left hungry and broke. I'm very dissatisfied.
Be the first to ReplyDo NOT get the steak here.
Easily the worst piece of over cooked meat I've ever imagined. Overpriced and overhyped.

Definitely the most lively spot in town - packed on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. The fish was super fresh. The portion for the shishito peppers was also huge. I would skip the silky tofu next time though. Great place for dinner in downtown Chatham.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time at the bar in a number of years.
Everything we ordered was fabulous. Especially loved the yellowtail served carpaccio style with scallions. All of their rolls are beautiful, artful, and so fresh. So many excellent staff work here. Excellent service and great to see the sushi prepared right in front.
Be the first to ReplyI don't normally write reviews about restaurants but
I don't normally write reviews about restaurants but Bluefin's was exceptionally bad tonight. First, they sent us a text to come to our table immediately 25 minutes before our reservation. We rushed out the door to try not to lose our table before our reservation time even came. When we arrived, the hostess was aggressive and made faces while she looked for our reservation on the iPad. We were 3 minutes early for our reservation... She made us feel like they had given away our table but her manager corrected her and found our name on the reservation list. When we got to our table we ordered the tempura oysters which got brought to the wrong table before making it to ours. They were okay but not worth the price. Then they brought our sushi to the wrong table. When our sushi finally made it to our table, I found a small piece of hair on the side of my plate. I brushed it off and started eating but midway through my dinner, I realized it was not just a small hair but a very long hair that had been rolled into my sushi and cut several times because each piece of sushi had bits of hair sticking out. I very politely called a waitress over and she took the food back without apology or telling me if they were going to remake my food. No manager came over to apologize or notify me about my food (which is what happens when a mistake is made in the restaurant that I work at). When a mistake is made in the kitchen and two customers have to eat at different times, ruining their meal together, the least a restaurant can do is apologize for their mistake. My boyfriend and I both work at very nice restaurants and we were shocked to see how we were treated at this place. Maybe it's because we're young and maybe we don't look like we're going to spend a lot but the service was absolutely appalling. We will not be returning again and will be going to Ten Yen from now on instead.
Be the first to ReplyThe best sushi we've had on cape cod.
I ordered catering for 14 and they went above and beyond to delivery at our house on time. The sushi looked beautiful and tasted even better. Plan ahead and enjoy!

Love this place! Always a win whether we dine in or do take out. Love the sushi and other warm entrees and apps. Literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Surprisingly, the side of green beans is a family favorite too!
