Delicious, tapas style, funky, creative Japanese meal!
Had the pleasure of speaking with Isabelle to make the reservations. A request for a specific table was honoured. The restaurant has a very cool vibe, seating is comfortable and the outdoor terrace is especially lovely. Service was really great from the entire team. Amy and a gentleman named Mailij (sp?) were exceptional. Amy was kind, informative, made excellent recommendations, was attentive without being intrusive, perfect! Mailij was equally as helpful and wonderful. The Gyozas, Tarutaru, Maguro Poke, Haru Karaage, Pokuribu and Gyudon all out of this world!! Prepared in an extremely creative way, unlike any other restaurant. Sauces are so flavourful, light, fragrant, mouthwatering! Thank you Biiru! Cheers!🥂

This spot is a nice jaunt from St. Catherines so perfect for grabbing a bite after or before shopping. Although our server told us that the plates are for sharing, I am sad to report they are not. Too small. We had the karaage, agedashi, gyoza porc to start. All items were yummy and freshly made. The gyudon had too much mayonnaise so not my favourite but I know this is the style that most people like. The rice bowls are too pricey ($4.95) as in other restaurants rice is a side dish and 1/2 the price. My favourite dish was the cote de porc and watermelon salad. The pork rib was perfectly slow cooked and the watermelon salad was an explosion of flavours. Delicious.

Yum. Great food, drinks and service. The eel was a particularly delightful dish. Okonomyaki with truffle oil was very nicely done. Highly recommend for a chill but delicious dining experience.

I was in for lunch last week and it is best to arrive early if you don't want to reserve, before the place fills up. There is the tucked away second floor patio and inside the restaurant is nice too, very cozy. I had the cheese brochettes with beef (cheese wrapped in a thin covering of beef) which were very tasty, and a Japanese crepe that had crisp cabbage inside and half the crepe I ended up taking hame, so their small plates aren't that small, and ginger beer was gingery and refreshing.

We came here without booking and were extremely lucky to benefit from a no show. We were a party of 4. After being seated we were promptly given water and a drinks order taken. We had a MR. POPO cocktail while the server explained that it was a tapas style restaurant with Japanese food. We were given recommendations of certain dishes, but was offered a 'tasting menu' to fully experience most of the food on offer. The tasting menu was about $45 per person. All of the food was full of flavour and extremely enjoyable. The food was fresh and well seasoned, along with perfect ingredient combinations. My favourite was the black gyoza and pork rib. All the pictures I've added show every dish included in the tasting menu. The evening was so enjoyable and we were looked after throughout. We topped the evening off with a sake.

A friend and I recently had an amazing lunch at Biiru restaurant in downtown Montreal. The food and the service were both excellent as was the ambience in the restaurant. Between us, we ordered the Black Gyoza (pork, shrimp and black mushroom rolled together), Veggie Gyoza (veggie ravioli with Gyoza sauce), Candied Salmon, Karaage (fried chicken, yuzu and black pepper mayonnaise) and Pokuribu 2.0 (glazed pork ribs). The Candied Salmon, and Pokuribu dishes were absolutely amazing and a real highlight. The Veggie Gyoza and Karaange were excellent as well. We ended lunch with a shared serving of Matcha Passion Cake - extremely tasty, This was the first time my friend and I had been to Biiru but we will be back. The food experience was amazing!

I think so far this is my favorite Japanese restaurant. I had the suika, watermelon salad, salmon bonbons, salmon with spicy caramel and the unagi yakitori, eel bbq, all delicious and very original. The service is super, everybody very kind. Loved my Hotie cocktail. Thanks all!
