Bar Iris San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Really cute place! Me and my boyfriend only got drinks here
Really cute place! Me and my boyfriend only got drinks here since we had dinner plans after, but would definitely come back again for a meal. My favorite drink was the Okinawa. The service got a bit slower as they got busier, but still a great time!
The perfect bar! Initiate, comfy chairs.
The cocktails were really good. We tried Linda Linda which is a staple, delicious! Clarified drinks are really subtle and when done well, truly enjoyable. But you do have to drink it pretty fast, I'm a really slow drinker and at the end it was weak. The food was good, we tried the rice mochis, the portion was really big and they were delicious. I'm actually very excited to try their omakase! They have a lot of severs given how small the bar is, so you feel very taken care of.
Really great service, interior is beautiful and the drinks
Really great service, interior is beautiful and the drinks are really unique. The chicken karaage was really good too. Street parking here is a bit hard to find!
The drinks here were very creative and were amazing.
When we arrived, we were able to find a couple of spots at the bar. We walked up and didn't need to wait at around 7pm on a Friday. We also decided to stay and have dinner at the bar. Food was amazing and it's from the same kitchen as Nisei, the omakase restaurant next door. I can't wait to go back and also want to try Nisei next time as well!

Awesome cocktail spot with innovative drinks and superb service. We tried the uni hand roll, which was yummy, but didn't have time to try other food items. Will be back again to get more food!

almost angel's share level drinks, only boring one was "dont touch my mustache". wagyu tartare was super flavorful and uni temaki was pleasantly hefty. i thought the karaage was just ok. we walked in as a party of 3 Friday 5:30pm with no wait but it was crowded within an hour so come early!
The drink was okay they only provided what's on their menu
The drink was okay they only provided what's on their menu and the bartender has an attitude. The food is...if you gonna order the kaisen don please please ask them is it going to be the same as the picture of the menu.... Is 90% of rice and 10 % of fish.... I dun think I will comeback

THE TOP FAV bar in SF!! it's so small, this is the only "weakness" lol but all the snack, and Japanese style cocktails are amazing !! The service is really sweet too, but you should wait a really long time during the busy hours to get in.
The ambiance can be dark and intimate once the sun's set.
Bar seating is quite bright even with the diffused lighting. The small space can be quite busy, but conversation is easy without raising your voice. Though, expect to hear the other party just as easily. The drinks were good, I got the Okinawa, which was ok, wished it had more yam in it. Linda Linda was very refreshing, and my favorite drink. The food is top notch. The tsukemono was a good starter, bright and acidic just to wake up the taste buds. The oyakodon is good, if not a little small for one person. It's a very simple, but done well. The wagashi was quite good, and my favorite bite. My highlights were the strawberry miso and the red bean, would totally have gotten just those two. The elderflower ramune was a little bland, and the permission bleu cheese was a bit overpowering.

Bar Iris a few months ago WAS a must-go with popular Japanese cocktails and was great on the first visit, however after the 2024 New Year renovations, the only thing they changed was the lack of service and a narrow dim backroom. At $18 a cocktail and $17 for a poor excuse for "food", dry, super small, and with no flavor. This place took a nosedive. A before and after photo of a cocktail is all that needs to be said both in the presentation and taste. I don't recommend this place at all.

Stopped by here on a Saturday with my gal friend and pleasantly sat at the bar with a beautiful ambiance and attentive staff. Ordered/tried various cocktails, which were all exceptional - favorite being Winter Trail. Their food options are light but all super delicious. Wagyu tartare was tender almost melting in your mouth mixed with a beautiful golden yolk to be enjoyed with lotus root chips, which weren't greasy (thankfully). Looking forward to being back to try other goodies from Bar Iris!
A small cocktail bar on Polk.
Very expensive appetizers and drinks. Shishito peppers were totally worth it, stuffed with a miso cream sooooo good. The aesthetics are there with great interiors and good music. Great spot for a fancier date night or night cap. The servers are so accommodating and lovely, the host is doing their best to manage small seating area. Wish the drink portions were larger on the specialty cocktails considering the price but overall we liked stopped at this place
Three of us came here after dinner on a Saturday.
There were plenty of seats outside but we wanted to wait for inside seating to enjoy the ~ambiance~. We were given an estimated time of 30 minutes but it took about 40 minutes instead. The host let us know a table was finishing up, but after a while we got a spot at the bar instead. I opted for the yakushima which was okinawa purple yam, wilderton arthen n/a, calamansi, and li hing mui. It was a really sweet, slightly creamy from the yam, and bright from the calamansi. If you are sensitive to textures I would recommend getting something else because it was slightly gritty (but that means they're really using okinawa yam!)

Went with my friends at a quite busy hour so it did take a bit of time to be seated but the service was great!! I asked for recs and the guy helping us out was quite enthusiastic explaining his recommendations :") Of course, the drinks were also phenomenal!! They have a very diverse selection of cocktails that cater to people who prefer something a bit stronger and to people who prefer something lighter and sweeter. If you are looking for something sweeter, I recommend the Faithful Fool! If you want something more sophisticated and a little stronger(and you don't mind floral taste nodes), I recommend the Linda Linda!! Not only were the drinks great but the place has a very cozy, chill, and intimate ambiance. A great atmosphere to go with one or two close friends or on a date!!!

An intimate, upscale, and unique bar experience! I came in on a Sunday night and it was understandably pretty empty. We were seated by the bar staff. The place has a dark, candlelit vibe with chill R&B music. They've really nailed the East-meets-West theme with their menu, definitely the most unique selection of drinks I've seen. I got the Faithful Fool and I loved it. Great for those who love tart drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit here!
I love this place.
Inventive cocktails, amazing karage, dark and romantic atmosphere. I try to find a new cocktail everytime I come back because the cocktail list is always new and changing!!
Went on a date here and it was way too loud.
The food (pickles) were almost inedible and the mocktails were mediocre at best. Very disappointed.

We walked in as a party of 2 on Saturday afternoon and were seated in a few minutes. The ambience was fantastic, clean and polished dimly lit interior with real flower centerpieces. The music was also surprisingly modern and of good taste! Calm popular RnB/chill rap instrumental mixes We had 4 cocktails that we were able to order after checking the menu through a QR code. Service was a little slow, but they were also pretty busy. The staff was kind but not very talkative (again a very busy time for the bar so totally understandable). We had the pumpkaboo, the haiku, winter trail, and empty orchestra. The empty orchestra was my favorite, almost like a pisco sour with bitters. The pumpkaboo had a great presentation with burnt marshmallows to stir into the hot drink. We also ordered a plate of chicken karage that came with spicy mayo that was DELICIOUS!!! Not too much breading, super moist chicken and a good dipping sauce. Definitely a super high end cocktail experience that I really enjoyed! Will be coming back, I absolutely loved this place.

Walked in with a group of 6 and ended up seated in the heated outdoor parklet. You order through a QR code and have the option of ordering as a group or individually which is really convenient. I felt the drinks were overpriced for the amount of liquid we got. Most of our drinks felt watered down and small in portion size. I also thought the service could have been better. Our party felt neglected since we were sitting outside. We asked for water after our drinks came out and didn't receive it until 30 minutes after. There's also only one bathroom which had a long line at times. Not sure if I will want to come back for the drinks. The inside looked aesthetically pleasing so I may reconsider only if I am seated inside next.
A cute lil date night spot or catch up with friends spot.
The drinks are amazing, especially the warm ones, wish they had more warm drinks. Love to take all my friends here

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
