A true golf destination/bucket list!!! I came here in a group of 12 for 5 days and we were treated to awesome golf courses, great food/drinks and excellent customer service. From the moment we stepped on the property, we were afforded every accommodation and consideration. My golf experience was enhanced by having a caddie who was knowledgeable, friendly and great company. He learned my game after a few holes and was having me hit shots that kept me in the game. I highly recommend asking for Panther the caddie. He's somewhat of a celebrity there but he's just a regular guy. I will never forget my 5 days spent totally immersed in golf and good times.

Best golf experience ever!! From the amazing courses, to the phenomenal customer service at each operation, this is a 10/10 and a golfers dream!! Exceeded expectations by far!! Only $900 for three rounds of golf, three night stay, and 6 meals!! What a steal!!

Remote rugged vistas or the Pacific Ocean. Friendly staff. Very helpful and professional. Good food 6 courses each with its own charms. Would highly recommend. The larger the group the further you have to book out.

Of course it goes without saying that the golf is incredible!! But we went to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort with our husbands this time, and we were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the trip was for us non-golfers. All of the staff was super friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms aren't overly fancy, but they are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed all the restaurants - Forge was a highlight - excellent service and we were impressed by the steaks we ordered, they were delicious. The hiking trails were another nice surprise! There are a lot and trails are well marked and boast beautiful views.

Bandon Dunes is the Disneyland of Golf Resorts! Everything they say about it, does not do it justice until you play it! Magnificent views, amazing course conditions along the Pacific Ocean. The entire natural beauty of this course can only be found in Scotland.

great courses, but to folks that may be going---I played one day as a single with 3 other guys I didn't know...I had caddy--they didn't..Caddy raked traps for them, gave putting advice, gave help with yardages, etc..I tipped liberally, but they DIDN'T tip caddy..It was my caddy but he helped them..cmon folks

Speaking only for the service and accommodations: mediocre! Check-in was completely a do-it-yourself, figure-it-out-on-your-own deal - no one waiting outside to help and not even a friendly 'welcome to Bandon' at the front desk - I've had FAR BETTER check-in experiences at budget motels. I spent all day traveling to get here and Bandon clearly doesn't care. After the uninspiring check-in, you call a shuttle and then load your own gear onto the bus - the driver opens the door and that's it - and then drops you somewhere in the vicinity of your room. Then the door opens and you're told to unload your gear and haul it in the dark to the room. Good luck! After visiting Spanish Bay/Pebble earlier this year, I am blown away at the stark contrast between the two experiences so far. At Pebble THEY took care of EVERYTHING...at Bandon, YOU do it. The rooms here (Chrome Lake) are spacious, dated and rustic - way beyond their prime and with a musty smell to boot. It's all another lesson in: you get what you pay for.I have three days of golf coming up and that will be the focus. It better be if you're coming all the way here, because everything else I've experienced so far is blah.++++update++++Sure enough the golf courses, pro shops, caddies and restaurants were spectacular. Great service all the way around. Bandon delivers on what it promises: a guys (or gals) golf getaway vacation. Updated my rating to four stars.
Be the first to ReplyGreat rooms.
Disorganized service. I've never paid so much to have mediocre customer service. Rooms are huge, nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. Check in was confusing and apathetic. The lack of actual customer service was unexpected. I am pretty sure if given the choice I wouldn't come back. Not my vibe.

If you are a golf fanatic like I am, you must make the pilgrimage to Bandon Dunes resort. It truly is the Mecca for golf. There are five regulation courses plus one par three course of 13 holes. They are all amazing courses and have their own character for sure. The most fun we had this week was on the par 3 course because you could play as many people in your group as you wanted. So we played as a six-some had a great time drinking beer and enjoying our evening. This course does not have golf carts so you will need to walk and I would highly recommend getting a caddy because you will not know where to hit the ball and play these courses without their guidance. There is nothing to do at this resort except play golf, eat, drink a beer and then go to bed and do it again the next day. The place is extremely well run. The service is great. The folks that work there are extremely helpful and they have this place running like a well-oiled machine. Save up your money. It's not cheap but definitely go to Bandon Dunes!

All 5 golf courses are spectacular and any of them could be your all-time favorite. We (my sons, grandsons and a family friend) were there last month and played 36 holes each day for 3 days (average number of steps per day 30,000). The weather was great - no rain, sunny (in the 60s) but wind was definitely a factor particularly in the afternoons - gusty to 35mph on Sheep Ranch and 25-30 on the other two days. I can't say enough about the quality of the golf courses. You go there to play golf - period. Everything else is a distant, distant second to what you will experience on the courses. The resort was great - service, food, accommodations, shuttles, staff were all outstanding. We can't wait to go back and we will.

Played 4 rounds of golf in 4 days (Sheep Ranch, Old McDonald, Pacific Dunes, and Bandon Preserve). My favorite of the 4 we played was Sheep Ranch. All of them have their own unique qualities. McDonald was the hardest. In retrospect I would have play just 2-3 courses. I believe I would have enjoyed it a little more. It is all walking courses so being shape is crucial to enjoying your rounds. Service was great and booking was smooth. Was a little disappointed with the weather being that we paid premium price for June. It was overcast and a bit rainy for the first 3 rounds but we made the best out of it. Recommend July/august if you want sunny weather for the premium price. The only reasons why I gave it a 4 star was because caddies were ok. Decided to do one round of caddie service and had requested 3 caddies. We end up having only two and they were not apologetic to the mistake. So one of the caddie end up having to carry 2 bags, which made it difficult to get pointers during the round. One of the caddies was inexperience and at many times end up asking us about the reads. Even the experience caddy was giving some wrong advices. Not what we re paying for. Paid $300 for two caddies. We still gave them great tips bc it wasn't easy carrying our bags. In addition, a Marshall on pacific dunes was not very pleasant bc we were running behind. He was very rude! No need to be rude, a simple statement of speed up our game a bit would suffice. It would be helpful to know when courses were recently punched. Initially we booked Bandon dunes instead of old McDonald. We were made aware of the recently aerated Bandon so we were fortunately to be able to switched to old McDonald. But after looking at Bandon it was actually ok to play it. The confusion threw us off a bit. Besides those factors everything else was great. We all still would come back.

....D on everything else. To call yourself a Resort is a major overreach. There are Zero desirable amenities If your not playing a round. There is absolutely nothing to enjoy or fill your time with. So please don't call yourself a girls getaway. Most rooms are dated and lack the beauty and imagination they are surrounded by.

Absolutely phenomenal golf courses at Bandon Dunes--I can definitely see how they are consistently ranked as some of the best in the world. I had the opportunity to play Bandon Trails and Pacific Dunes and both were beautiful and challenging in their own way. The service from staff members was also top-notch.Bandon Trails is off of the coast in a forested area. Lots of trees to deal with and bunkers in the middle of the fairway that makes tee shots a bit tough. That said, the fairways are very wide off the tee, so you have a solid chance to put the ball in play.Pacific Dunes has a lot of holes right on the ocean, so you can probably expect a fair amount of wind, which can be quite the challenge, especially when you are hitting into it. While the fairways are also wide here, there is a ton of gorse that can gobble up golf balls. Both courses have lots of bunkers built of of sand dunes. They're beautiful to look at, and aesthetically add picturesque value to the courses, but beware, because they often are deep, sloped, and have patches of grass built into them--they can really hurt your score if you are in them frequently. Additionally, both courses have very undulated greens roll very smoothly. They can also be challenging.Absolutely loved my time at Bandon and will be sure to be back!As a heads-up, know that you have to walk here to play--Bandon doesn't have any riding carts or allow them on the golf course.
