Came across this place on Yelp and seeing the number of positive reviews I had to give it a try myself. I came with a friend on a Wednesday at around noon and we still had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. We got a text when our table was ready. The inside is pretty spacious and was bustling for a Wednesday lunch hour. Items ordered: - Cali burrito ($15): I LOVED this burrito! It came with a LOT of avocado and felt like each half contained half an avocado. It also comes with potatoes, mushrooms, spinach, and egg. I loved dipping it in the side sauce. It did not feel greasy whatsoever which I thought was really great! - Apple pie French toast ($17): If I could eat this everyday I absolutely would. The French toast was so soft and the apple cinnamon flavor was amazing. It really did taste like an apple pie and came with some cream and slices of apple on top. - Grilled Cheese Benedict ($19): I thought the Benedict was alright but the concept of a grilled cheese combined with a Benedict was intriguing. Eggs were nicely cooked and sauce was great. It didn't really taste like a grilled cheese to me but I could still taste the cheese. Comes with either a side of fruit or potatoes. I would come back for the French toast and if they have other flavors for the dish. Solid brunch place!
Be the first to ReplyGrilled cheese Benedict is a MUST.
Seasonal French toast literally melts your heart and taste buds. Service is always quick and enjoyable -- 10/10 recommend sitting at the bar if you get a chance!

Be the first to ReplyThe team was nice.
Got our name on the list pretty quickly. The wait was about 20 minutes, which is more than fine for a popular restaurant. The ambiance was very nice. The food was ok. The photos you see on Yelp aren't accurate, since they change their menu a lot. (According to our server, as I wanted the chicken fried steak and they didn't have that) Not a good selection for "meat and potatoes" people. The bacon is cheap. Hard, chewy. Almost as if it was cooked the night before and re-heated. The biscuits and gravy were ok. Not a lot of flavor. Burger was dry. The bread pudding was amazing. Obviously there's a ton of positive reviews... so I don't know if it's an off month? Or if I'm just fussy.
Be the first to ReplyBest brunch place to stop by and the service is great too.
The kiwi mimosas were delicious. They were so attentive to my grandson he was two when we came in and they made him his plain scrambled egg and a tiny flapjack.

Super cute place to eat! Everyone was so nice! Food came out after 10 minutes of ordering! Mimosas were on point! **Weekends they do not do reservations, so make sure you go with expecting a wait, maybe 20 minutes or less.

Hands down the most delicious biscuits and gravy in Sacramento. I usually get their breakfast sandwich that has a cheese skirt and is covered in gravy. I like to substitute the bacon for a sausage patty in order to make it less messy to eat.

It was a little too loud to talk at length, but it was a nice vibe. The honey butter for the biscuits is *chef's kiss*. Server was attentive, kind and provided good recommendations. I don't dare try to come here on a weekend...for me, it's weekday mornings only for me to come, when I have a day off work. Reason is, the wait time can be a lil bit long for my patience.

I finally got here early so that I did not have to wait that long. The wait was about 35 minutes and it was totally worth it. I had a wonderful mimosa hit the right spot of service was easy fast I felt like a diner vibe, but totally chill. When they bring you the check, they bring it in a book and you can sign anywhere inside the book saying thank you it was a great experience. We are definitely coming back this time we're bringing dad.

It's a small location especially when the weather is cooler and the patio is closed. Be prepared for a wait, but you're able to enjoy a drink (on the patio) or a non alcoholic beverage in your car while you wait for your "table is ready" text. Staff is friendly. Food is excellent. Your bill comes between the pages of a cookbook or novel. Will for sure revisit to taste other items on the menu.

We searched for a local place to eat and stumbled across Bacon and Butter. Reviews looked great and so did the menu. We decided to give it a try. Upon arriving we noticed a long line. So it just her good. We put out name down and they told us that there is an hour and a half wait. Place wasn't that big. We decided to wait. The food was out if this world and service was outstanding. Joey was our server and she was the nicest, sweetest waitress we've ever had. We are so glad we stopped by and can't wait to go back there.

If you have time and good taste this is the place!!!! The wait was a little long, but well worth the food & coffee. I had the biscuits and gravy (huge biscuits filled with full strips of bacon, smothered in gravy). Great service, retro remade environment that I loved and totally vibed with, good jams on the entire time . I need to plan to come here for brunch and mimosas with the girl!!!!

The flapjacks are divine! The waiters, staff and kitchen are amazing. They go above and beyond with their service. The food was as delicious as the pictures. The restaurant is open and spacious. I love the decorations. The kitchen staff made us a flapjack after being closed for 30 minutes while we were still seated. Jerome and Jeramy excellent staff and very attentive. We will be back. Hope I spelled all names properly.

Best breakfast food in Sacramento! Massive portions and there's some options to get one pancake or things like that. We ordered the citrus poppyseed flapjack and the biscuit sandwich. Both were beyond incredible, layered with flavor and big portions. Get here early to avoid a wait!
Be the first to ReplyFinally was able to get in and eat here and it was good.
everything was fresh and we were served quickly.
Be the first to ReplyDecent food.
Chicken and waffles were fine but chicken was like 6 pieces of small chicken and waffle was thick. Personally prefer more chicken and a thinner waffle. More annoyed at their ope charge they list under the taxes which is for operations...

HAVE AGAIN: The grilled cheese benny with bacon was very good, although it would be much better having the benny on half the large biscuit with the other half of the biscuit available for butter and jelly (benny biscuit just too thick). Potatoes were flavorless and boring. Side of bacon was good but not fantastic as I would expect from a place with 'bacon' in its name. Pear French toast was also very good, but could have been slice thinner and had more pear. Service very pleasant and good.

Definitely will come back! I had been excited to try Bacon and Butter as I had seen photos and it looked really good. When we got there we were put on an 1hr and 30 min wait list. Normally I would've just gone somewhere else but we decided to go thrifting while we waited. I liked that we could see our spot in line. Once we were notified our table was ready we came back and we're seated promptly. I ordered Lemonade and the Eggs Benedict Grilled Cheese. Sooooo goood. Our server was super friendly and checked in on us often. The inside vibe of Bacon Butter is like a diner. We were seated at a booth and the lamp above us had a clock attached, sort of cool. I really enjoyed the food though and can't wait to go back and try more. I'm only docking one star as per the long wait, but it was Saturday brunch time !

Greasy burgers but smacking! If you are ordering a burger, doesn't really matter how greasy it is right? Lol anyway, would def recommend.

Be the first to ReplyI don't normally post about places outside of Contra Costa
I don't normally post about places outside of Contra Costa County, but I was at a conference in Sacramento this week and had to share. After eating hotel food, I was looking to try a local spot for breakfast. So I took a spin on Yelp and found a 4.5-star Breakfast spot with almost 4,000 reviews called Bacon & Butter. I don't know about you, but bacon and butter make everything better in my book! My faithful foodie GPS guided me to 59th and Broadway in the Tahoe Park neighborhood of Sacramento.Bacon & Butter is a hip breakfast and brunch restaurant specializing in seasonal farm-to-table ingredients. There was a line outside the restaurant. I went to put in my name and was pleasantly surprised that I was seated immediately since I was a party of one. I had a hankering for French Toast and had looked at the photos on Yelp, and their Pear and Pecan French Toast looked amazing! Let me tell you, it was the best French Toast that I had ever had! It's made with challah bread, custard, roasted pears, creamed caramel pear sauce, pecan streusel, and homemade whipped cream. It was fantastic; the portion was so huge that I had more for breakfast this morning. Sitting at the counter, I had a birdseye view of food coming out of the kitchen; it all looked phenomenal! The couple sitting next to me let me snap a photo of their pancakes and grilled cheese benedict; yes, you read that right, grilled cheese benedict! They said both were delicious! The next time you find yourself in the Sacramento area and you love breakfast, don't skip on this place. Be aware that it's extremely popular, so plan on a wait. I would say it's definitely worth the wait!
Be the first to ReplyThis meal was very disappointing.
The servers were nice but the food was a major flop. I have trust issues with the people giving this place 5 stars. We were in town for a girls outing. My friend saw this place on Yelp and she kept hearing rave-reviews from others, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived on Saturday around 11am and waited 1.5 hours, which is not too bad: Good food is worth the wait and I wanted to see what the hype was about. Regret! I shared chicken and waffles with my friend. My other two friends shared a breakfast burrito. The fried chicken was dry and bland. The waffles were nothing special, neither crispy nor fluffy. My other two friends were putting salt and pepper into their burrito and they kept complaining about how bland it tasted. If you've got a table of Asian and black customers thinking your food is bland, you've got a big problem. My sweet tooth friend got greedy and ordered a cinna roll. It was a dry brick. It made Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls taste like Michelin Star restaurant pastry! Probably no one orders that item so they left it sitting around for a few days.I don't know why this place is so popular! Maybe the neighborhood is very residential and it's the lack of competition in the area? Not worth the time or money!
Be the first to ReplyOkay, first thing: food was delicious.
I mean, it was really tasty stuff. However, it was my first time there, they sat me down with some water and it took them 30+ minutes just to bring coffee and they said "oh sorry there was confusion over who was taking you guys". Now , that being said , I TOTALLY get it. Restaurants are busy and chaotic but eh, not a great first impression. It then took another 20 to get food. Over all it was more then an hour and a half for breakfast which is crazy to me. Btw: the couple next to us also for "forgotten" about and didn't even have water for 30 mins .... Maybe they were just having an off day. I would be willing to give it another chance.
