Wonderful dining experience.
Angele is a great restaurant for either lunch or dinner. Lunch on the patio when the weather is nice is lovely, but we prefer inside as it is so French with the little olive plants and tiny candles in the windows. The food is always excellent and the service is most attentive. One of our favorites in Napa.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food and Amazing Service!
The location is superb and so charming! The service was Top Notch by Anna Professional and so friendly The Amazing food was so fresh and tasty The tuna Crudo for the appetizers outstanding The Daurade ( Fish) and the lamb wonderful! Do not miss the dessert … the chocolate mousse was divine. The wines list is superb with wine around the world. Far Away one of the best place in Napa A GEM 🙏❤️
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as the reviews
We had high expectations of Angèle given the reviews. Experience was not as good. Our table was in a tent next to a gas heater. We each had a cocktail, shared a half bottle of white wine and ordered chicken and risotto. The risotto was excellent, the chicken was nothing special. Service was ok. We felt rushed and dinner lasted about an hour. The bill was over $200. Price paid was not commensurate with the dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyI'm sorry to say the second time is NOT the charm
This is my second time to Angele. The first time was on an extremely hot day (100+ f) in the summer and there was no air conditioning in the restaurant. The food was heavy and it was too hot to thoroughly enjoy. I didn't write a review at that time because I didn't think it would be fair. I decided to give it another chance and go in the winter so here we are in February. Ironically, my husband and I were seated at the same table we dined at during our last visit which was in a corner right by the check-in desk. Pros: good selection of Napa Valley wines as well as French wines. It was a full house with a lively crowd (translation: a bit loud). Concrete floors, hard surfaces, and not enough fabric to absorb the sound (tablecloths aren't enough). The fried artichoke hearts were as expected, as were the mussels, and the sweetbreads with lemon on top were delicious. Cons: Server Ben G. only made eye contact and addressed my husband while ignoring me until it came time to sign the bill. The steak tartare was too salty - and I've had this dish many times before, just not here. Conclusion: Angele fell short and with so many other excellent restaurants in the area, we won't be returning for a third time. Be the first to Reply"WAS" a restaurant that I loved. Domino effect as I will never recommend this place. Word gets around in a small town.
I have been coming to Angele for 5 years and last night I brought my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. We had 5:30 reservations and we were the only ones on the outside veranda. They seated us at a table where we could not really push in our chairs as the table foot was so large. We asked the waiter if we could move. I found him sarcastic as he said ..." well we got a busy night". We were the only ones there and by the end of our meal which was 1 hour 15 minutes later, the outside veranda was just getting busy. Anyway, the whole point of us coming last night was for the Beef Bourguignon that we always enjoyed before at your restaurant . It was terrible. The meat was tough and dry (Beef Bourguignon is all about the meat that is to be flaky and soft) It was dried up like it sat in the kitchen for awhile. The sauce was also dried up. We were so disappointed. I told the Maitre D who was very nice and he said he would convey it to the chef. Anyway, the service from the waiter was below average at best as he was a wisecracker. I believe there must of been a miscommunication between the kitchen and waiter between our appetizer and main dish. I work in the hospitality business and understand the hard work involved so I still gave a 20% tip as I am polite, unlike our waiter. I will not return to Angele for a very very long time.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food, but on the pricey side
Very good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, but a bit overprized, especially drinks. Reservation is probably necessary.
Be the first to ReplyGood
Very good food, service and ambiance. Just be sure to take all your personal belongings with you as you leave. Otherwise they are “lost” even though you call to ask for them just a few hours you left This do not speak very well about the staff….

Be the first to ReplyBirthday Celebration
Celebrated my Birthday here! Ambiance, food and wait staff was exceptional. Kudos to Maricio who serve out table by himself and was super gracious! Mariah managed my event from beginning to end recommending the florist and bakery for my cake Sweetie Pies Bakery. The kitchen was a bit slow...we waited quite a while about 35 min for our entrées, but everything was beautifully plated and delicious!! Even the lovely restaurant guests chimed in with my Happy Birthday song! Super sweet & incredibly special! Highly recommend...just have lots of time, tres Français! Merci!

Beautiful spot on the water; fabulous dinner prepared with excellence, first class service! Lives up to its reputation!
Be the first to ReplyToo salty
Angele is one of my favorite restaurants. However, yesterday, the chef over salted the celery root soup, the French Onion soup, and the salad Lyonnaise. Only the bread and butter were perfect. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, but the kitchen needs to lower the salt content.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent and busy.
We were recommended this place as the best in Napa town. It surely was. We sat at the bar. Made two friends right away and got good tips on what to order. I ordered the Larkin red wine which was fantastic. One of the best reds I have ever had. So tasty. A good sipper. We shared a green salad that was wonderful. She said a Tarragon dressing. I had the lamb stew. My wife the special of the day which was Halibut.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Visit!
My daughter & I had dinner there this past Thursday. We were dropped off an hour ahead of our dinner reservation and they were able to seat us almost immediately. The food was fabulous! I had the halibut (catch of the day) and my daughter had the fettucine. Service was outstanding, especially the front of the house people. The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere and the outdoor area (enclosed) was really cute. Made for a nice dinner while on vacation.
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointing
We have been dining at Angele for around 15 years and were looking forward to another great experience. Unfortunately, this was not to be. One true test of a business is how they handle a problem and Angele did not perform well. We were seated quickly and cocktails, ordering, and our first course of Paté de Campagne went smoothly and the paté was delicious. We followed with Prince Edward Island Mussels, Cassoulet, and a Lamb special. The Cassoulet was undercooked and it took us about 10 minutes to get any attention - we kept saying, "Excuse me, Excuse Me" as staff went by, but no one stopped or acknowledged us. When we finally got someone's attention and the dish returned to the kitchen, we shared our other entrees with the Cassoulet person who finally cancelled her order. To top off the experience, no one at the restaurant apologized or expressed any remorse over our less-than-quality evening. The mussels and lamb were delicious, but the total experience was quite disappointing.

We enjoyed a very delicious dinner with excellent service. Wine selection was great. Couldn’t fault anything about this place. Wonderful ambience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and terrific menu
We dined here two weekend nights in the lively bar. Despite not reserving ahead, as we weren't clear when we would arrive for the weekend, the front staff made every effort to get us a nice spot at the bar as soon as possible. Before we finished our first glass of wine, they had us seated with menus. The excellent food--Risotto, Onion Soup first night--came promptly and piping hot. Bar and wait staff are very friendly and attentive. The second night we hungered for a croque monsieur and a burger, and they were substantial and delicious. But the CHOCOLATE POT DU. CREME was to die for! Best ever, and I learned to make chocolate mousse from a holder of the Grand Diplome from Cordon Bleu, even better than the apple tart the previous night. The well-traveled young couple next to us were having escargot and oysters--these are not what we eat, but they mentioned that the oysters were the best they had had anywhere. The bar and restaurant have a youngish vibe, I'd say late 20s-50s; nonetheless, as a couple old enough to be the trailing parents, we felt at home, well cared for, and definitely well fed. I am happy to recommend this restaurant most highly.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Lunch
Spectacular service, beautiful outdoor seating area and delicious food. A great lunch spot to start a day of wine tastings. All the syrups in the cocktails are house made (Bellini was amazing). Our group enjoyed the tomato tart, hamburger and roasted chicken salad. Delicious all around! Would most definitely return upon next visit.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Pate' and Nicoise Salad
Great setting along the river with views inside and outside on the great patio. WE decided to sit at the perfect bar inside and so glad we did because of the excellent service and conversation we had from "Michaela". I had the country Pate' which tasted like it was made fresh that day. Just perfect with all the fixin's. My wife had the Nicoise Salad and she loved the freshness and incredible seared Ahi Grade Tuna. Great service , food and comfortable seats nestled in a cozy dining area. Decorated like a little French Cafe Perfect

In restaurant for anniversary - ordered a split of Billecart-salmon and the caviar appetizer which totaled a minimum of $160 - we weren't ready to put full dinner order in so we were chased off our table to the bar. The people at the bar were laughing at us stating why were you kicked off the table when there were so many empty tables ?? Review- can't lose with that champagne, the caviar was most likely lump fish on creepy over salted chips... we paid our bill at the bar and left with a very bad taste in our mouth . Good luck with this horrible place that they call a restaurant - major buzz kill
