🙂 4/5 - Exceptional service and par excellence amenities

The service and communication throughout my entire engagement was par excellence, from the moment I booked to the moment I left the property. Every person with whom I interacted either via email, phone, the locker room attendant, the spa receptionist, the reservations -- all were absolutely well mannered, consistent, polite and professional. The Japanese breakfast (included) was excellent and the amenity spaces (private yoga room and pilates room, and even the gym) were a real treat, I think it is a bit abusive to charge extra to rent these spaces out they should be able to be reserved for 1 hour per day per guest included in the room. For example, the pilates room could easily accommodate 3 guests if you worked together on the machines rotating between the Cadillac and the reformer and tower. I understand you have safety protocols for Covid-19 and cleaning and for a more private experience but the gym is fully open with no capacity limits the other fitness and wellness areas should offer the same, even if it is "morning" or "afternoon" only for open use. I realise this is an exponomy creating device for the hotel, but again for the cost of the guest room it felt tacky to be charged extra to use the pilates or yoga room, especially since the spa and pool are included and open almost all day 6A - 10P is very generous and the gym is 24h. I was surprised that the room type I selected (and all rooms in this category) had the less desirable view. At one point my room was so noisy due to the train traffic below I considered "downgrading" to a standard room facing the opposite direction. I was in room 318. I was told by reservations that the entry level rooms face the park which is more quiet but when I looked at the floor plan the bathroom was smaller (that seems to be the only difference). In the future, I might consider booking this room type as it would likely be more quiet. The only room I noticed that was on the side was 314 which appears to be a suite which is unnecessary for solo travel. I realise you cannot re-organise the rooms distribution in a hotel but it might be better noted on the site as one would expect the higher level room to have either a better view or be more quiet. In terms of in-room amenities the bathroom was very nice and the desk/wardrobe area. I was disappointed with the lack of tea, beverage, and snack selection in the room. For example, there was only cow milk, not a soy or almond non dairy alternative for tea. There was no honey. And the tea kettle I had to plug into the bathroom outlet (unless I missed one near the TV console). I feel like a teapot would be better than individual cups. I also think there should have been more snacks and food to consume in the room. These could be charged to the room. It is more for convenience and more immediate than to have to call room service for a snack. Even a piece of fruit like an apple would be nice to have or a handful of nuts.
