Great place to have Lebanese food in Coconut Grove! The restaurant is very aesthetic from the moment you walk in. We decided to sit at the bar. The drinks were delicious and we had great service from our bartender. We tried about 4 of their drinks and a lychee martini. It was one of the best lychee martinis I have had in a long time. We shared a few plates: kibbeh, hummus dip, baba ghanoush, truffle rakakat, and falafel. Everything we had was delicious. The truffle rakakat was the best thing we had! I am still dreaming about them. We ended our meal with the date cake which was the perfect ending to our meal. It was the perfect bite.
Be the first to ReplyAmal is a beautiful restaurant in Coconut Grove.
It serves Mediterranean food in an upscale setting. The decor is lovely. The bar area is small but inviting. The staff is very pleasant & efficient. The food was fresh & delicious.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday after numerous rave reviews of this place. Off the first impression, I loved the inside decor. It was super vibey and comfy (I'm a big fan of comfy couches for seating). I also loved that they had the windows open so the nice breeze was coming in, it was perfect. As for food, for appetizers we got the octopus, the Amal hummus (without pine nuts due to an allergy) and the halloumi. The appetizers were the best food of the night, everything was delicious and 10/10. They initially brought out the hummus with pine nuts accidentally as the table next to us ordered it at the same time as us, but after alerting the staff they were quick to fix the situation and make sure everything was okay. As for the drinks, they were both aesthetically pleasing and very pretty and tasted even better, not too sweet which is how I like them. For dinner, I got the kebab with beef and lamb and was very disappointed. It tasted flavorless and dry and definitely needed a sauce on it or dipping sauce on the side. My boyfriend got the lamb chops and he was kind of indifferent to them but I personally thought they tasted great (he's a snob when it comes to meat). We also got a side of fries and asked for them to be a xtra crispy and they were sooo good. They had a really nice seasoning on them which I loved. They also gave us a free dessert with a candle and happy birthday chocolate plaque for my boyfriend's birthday! Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was recommended and it didn't disappoint at all.
From food to decor to service. My friend got the lamb chops (100 x better then the last place) and I got apps and everything was great. Her lamb chops wasn't gamey at all and had great flavor. We also got hummus excellent, grape leafs also excellent, kibbeh two ways, fried and also tried the tartare one. Gonn be honest accidentally order the tartare one not thinking but it didn't disappoint at all. Having it with the mint or slices of jalapeño was the bomb. Our server was excellent and even the manager came over and told us it will be a few more minutes. It was a Wednesday night and they was 98% full at 9pm when we left. They do have a little street parking or you pay to park in the lot. When I come back to town I will be back here.

The place is beautiful as well as the vibe. Food was good (we only shared appetizers and dessert ) ordered a couple of drinks plus a bottle of wine. Our waitress was good and attentive. Only complaint: we had reservations for standard seating ;and were late for the reservations and I contacted the restaurant to let them know that we will be late . They said no problem. We arrived and the hostess's greeted us and told us that the only thing they had available at the moment was high top tables . I asked her if there was a wait for standard seating because we would not mind waiting ... she told us "actually there is no more standard seating available for tonight" hmmmm there were a few tables empty at the moment .. I said cool .. I don not mind a high top. Well ... those tables that were available when we arrived remained empty for the rapt of the night .. we spend close to three hours at the place as we were having a good time but I could not help but notice that detail. That is the reason for my 3 star review . You must adjust your policy about that or maybe the hostess needs a little bit of more training regarding that.

Absolutely LOVED this place! Came here on a Saturday evening with a party of 3 and no reservation and they were still able to get us a table right away. As soon as we walked in we fell in love with the decor and ambiance. And as soon as we were greeted with a smile and seated right away we knew the service was going to be good. And if you live in Miami you know what a rarity that is to find, let alone on a Saturday night. They had some really good recommendations. I ordered the salmon entree, my husband ordered the eggplant dish and falafel, and our friend ordered the Kefta Kabob. We had absolutely no complaints! And the dishes were a good size! The salmon was huge! I had to give my husband half of it. We will absolutely be back. It was such a great experience!
Be the first to ReplyOverall I had a great experience at Amal.
I really liked the vibe. Very cool. very chill. Very nice decor. The service was also exceptional. From the host, to the bar, to the table service, ....everything was on point. Drinks were well done. There is better than average menu for cocktails and wine. The food menu is also interesting with many good options for appetizers and entrees. We ordered the sampler platter and the baba ganoush and the hummus were the stars, grapes leaves were decent. We ordered the kabobs for two. The pistachio encrusted one was my favorite, followed but the beef and chicken, which were a tie. Sadly, they were out of baklava for dessert, so I passed on this course. The bill was not a deal, but not any different than most places in Miami. Overall, very good experience.

Girls Night Out had to include a beautiful dinner at Amal! The staff were very attentive and made wonderful recommendations for both food and drinks -- we ordered a variety of items and shared nearly all of the plates and platters. Every single thing we ordered was delicious - you cannot go wrong!

Very nice place! The servers where amazing and they recommended and explained every plate. We had a few appetizers to share and two desserts! Everything was delicious!!!!! I recommend the grape leaves and the Kanafeh!

GREAT FOOD! I feel like so many restaurants in Coconut Grove are so beautiful and have great ambience but not the best food. Amal is great!! Not the biggest fan of middle eastern but this is the one exception. Waiter knew what he was doing and very knowledgeable of the menu. Service was great. I've been craving this place since I visited last month!
Be the first to ReplyI went to Amal go celebrate my birthday.
The service was a bit slow. The server was doing his best to accommodate on such a busy night. They simply forgot to bring me an appetizer and the manager came over to apologize. I was not blown away by the good as I may have just ordered the wrong things. The lamb was ok. I eyed a few other options on the menus and on other people's tables and will give it another try again soon. The ambiance is very nice and it seems to be a great spot for drinks and apps.
Be the first to ReplyFood was mediocre and service was atrocious.
Managers were rude and disengaged. Didnt say hello or goodbye.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite.
Beautiful place with good energy and amazing food. To our disappointment, the service on our last visit was not great. It was an early dinner and really everyone looked distracted. It took forever just to get water and get someone to help our table even though it was pretty empty. Previous experience in terms of service was GREAT so I'll still give them 5 stars in hopes it was an anomaly.
Be the first to ReplyThe parking lot next door is still a nightmare.
Didn't see a valet option up in front. Walking inside is very beautiful. Elegant. Mix of security and hosts. Happening bar area. Separate dining area. Outdoor options. Service was good. Efficient. Food was flavorful. My favorite tonight was the appetizer muhammara. The pita bread is subpar-average. My second favorite sample was probably the shrimp dish. All other food was nice, as expected didn't have a wow factor. The date cake was nice. They added a nice birthday chocolate, a nice touch. It's a place I'm happy to visit when friends or family want to go but not a place I'd go out of my way to visit on my own.

This was our 2nd time and it did not disappoint! Upon arriving the hostess was sweet and sat us in a high top table with a view of the street traffic. Very romantic seating! The ambiance is classy. food was delicious and our server was so attentive and sweet! His name was Staz. We had the platter for two that came with a variety of meats from kefta, chicken kabobs, steak kabobs and grilled vegetables served with warm pita bread. Delicious! The falafel was fresh and perfect in every bite. We ended the wonderful evening with mint tea served with knafeh and date cake for dessert. We were greeted by Mauro and shared our wonderful conversation with him! Overall one of my favorites for Lebanese food!

We recently went to Amal for lunch with a friend of us who is from Lebanon Our overall experience was great just like the time when we visited a year or so back for dinner First reg ambience, our friend was impressed that it brought back memory to Beirut and how tastefully Amal managed to capture with the greenery around. He was so impressed that he called his Mother in Beirut to share with her Our friend ordered all the food and chicken shawarma was out of the world. The appetizers were great as well, very authentic We were so happy that our friend was able to enjoy the food The service was prompt, friendly and professional Will definitely visit again and highly recommend the place
Be the first to ReplyGood service, great food .
Vegetarian options available.. Great Ambiance and good vibes . Great for lunches and dinner
Be the first to Replythis place is beautiful.
This is in the Grove with Middle Eastern food. I really went to see a friend whose a belly dancer and the show was great. I ordered two appetizers one was the Fattoush salad but I didn't. I didn't enjoy it. They put too much dressing on it and it just wasn't the right balance of all the ingredients for me. It was OK but it wasn't great. i loved the Muhammara fire roasted red pepper with walnuts and spices eat it with pita bread. It was delicious I would go back just for that I do want to go there for a regular meal but that was just two appetizers that I had that night. the service was good, and the place is pretty.

We went for lunch and the food was great but service bad and confusing. I speak both English and Spanish but the waiter couldn't communicate well and didn't know the dishes.

The food was incredible! You must try the truffle rakakat and the hummus with filet. Service was quick and our server was warm and friendly. We had an intimate table on the patio with low lighting. Definitely coming back.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good but nothing spectacular.
Service as normal. The ambiance was very nice. It was very hot inside the restaurant. Very pricey for the quality and quantity of food. Will not be back.
Be the first to ReplyExperienced the most horrible customer service ever from
Experienced the most horrible customer service ever from the greeter/hostess to the manager to the server. First time and last time at Amal today. Had been looking forward to it. Our reservation was for 7. Upon arrival was told by the host with the long black hair that our table was being prepared and that they would be with us in about 5 minutes. The restaurant was half empty and the many available tables were all set up. After about 10 minutes saw that there were no tables being set up and again restaurant was mostly empty and so I went back to the hostess. Was told that our table was still being prepared. I complained and asked what table in the restaurant is not already set up or occupied. We were finally seated. Sat at the table for 25 minutes before the server came to our table. No apologies for the wait from the server or the manager who I spoke to. A simple apology for the unexplainable wait would have gone a long way. Did not make us feel like they valued our business at any point. A complete lack of customer service by the manager who did nothing to help the situation. Never came back to our table yo see how the meal went after we finally placed our order. And to add insult to injury an automatic 20% service charge is added to the bill. What incentive is there for workers to even try? I will not be back. Will go to places where my business is valued.
Be the first to ReplyGood Lebanese food.
Great service and great ambiance. It's always difficult to book a table and even more difficult to get a hold of anyone to change a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyWhile Amal is a restaurant that offers a lot of upscale
While Amal is a restaurant that offers a lot of upscale asthetics as far as food and the decor I'm writing another review after going back months months month after opening.Opening weekend things were slow , service was spotty and there were a ton of different issues that would get resolved with time.Going back I realize after to going to Mandolin and a few other fun Mediterranean places that amal is just overpriced food, a few friends of mine who are part of full Lebanese and even Cuban said how so-so the food was.Like groot hospitality - ink follows in the footsteps of spending more on decor and pretty cocktails then actual good alcohol accounts , above and beyond great food and superior customer service. Most of the staff before have left , many seem like they are trying to shack up with the rich male patrons and the crowd drawn in are either couples thinking this place is fancy due to issues with resverations and high markups, rich folks booking out tons of reservations in advance , or weird older dude , akin to those who own it.All in all the wine list is well curated and good, but you can find this food in many other places in bigger quantities and for a fraction of the price , the ambience is nice but servers aren't consistent , their pool tipping system is weird and makes motivation drop and the drinks are meh.The pastries are probably the best and most professional looking part so I give that props
Be the first to ReplyBeen back to back 2 Sunday's in a row.
I sat outside to people watch the first weekend and had some appetizers and drinks. The food and service was on point. This past weekend we showed up at 4:30pm without a reservation and the restaurant didn't open until 5. Although the bar wasn't open - they allowed us to order drinks. We ordered a bottle of champagne (which was at room temperature but the bartender put in a bucket with ice and salt) We were seated at 5:15 and ordered the sampler with Baba GhanoushZucchini and eggplant For entree we had Black CodBronzinoThe ambiance, decor service is on point and the food is remarkable! It's $$$ but sooooooooo worth it!
