I recommend it!
Excellet from start to finish. Welcome was warm, food was really good and service from our waitress Martina was excellent! She paid very close attention to our needs and kept the drinks regularly topped up. I was impressed! A great meal.

What can I say... the place is beautiful, you are on the top floor of Selfridges and the panoramic view over London is breathtaking. The staff has always been friendly, professional and pleasant. But the food.. it felt like home! Mum's cuisine served and prepared impeccably in a fabulous venue!
Be the first to ReplyMemorable evening in a spectacular location
The venue is fabulous, beautiful and with a truly breathtaking view. Dinner was exceptional, everything was delicious, especially the aubergine parmigiana as good as mum's!! The staff was also impeccable, the service is truly of the highest level. Marco and Rosario followed us and they are really nice and super professional. It will be one of the best memories of our holiday

If you go to London you can't help but stop and eat at this restaurant! The location is wonderful, on this terrace with a panoramic view, immersed in the Neapolitan atmosphere and surrounded by lemon trees. The staff is magnificent, both the hostesses, hospitable and smiling, especially Vittoria who welcomed us upon our arrival, and the dining room staff, always attentive and very friendly. And what about the food?!!! Divine! We ate very well! Surely from now on, this will be an obligatory stop on our next trips to London!!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing as always
Here we are again! As always dining here it's a wonderful experience. Relatives visiting from Italy, so I decided to reserve a table for dinner. Paola at the reservation is as always professional and ready to accommodate any request. Marco is always outstanding and welcoming. Rosaria, impeccable service. The food was outstanding as always. I said this before, we will definitely be back any time we can. Well done guys! Real outstanding Italian hospitality

This restaurant has the best combination of food, staff & atmosphere. I would like to thank Roberto & Fairouz for the best experience we had at this place.

We come every year for a bit of shopping at Selfridges and eventually the first stop has to be Alto the rooftop where both food and services always surprises. Thanks Alto for my daughter birthday plate
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding!
Visited here for my birthday and it was amazing! Food was delicious - huge menu! - service was outstanding and the environment was beautiful. Weather outside was switching from glorious sunshine to hailstorms but the fast opening/closing roof worked its magic and when the sun shone it was just like being in Italy! We started with the most beautiful cocktails I’ve ever had; so pretty and delicious! I had the carbonara and my daughter had the mussels. Finished with the Italian meringue topped hot chocolate and surprise birthday treat! Will return and definitely recommend. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyDry, overcooked and uncomfortable dining!
We were advised that this was a tapas style serving. However we were presented with one dish (Italian chips) which were Luke warm on arrival, we ate most of these before any of the other foods arrived. The mixed fish was over cooked, one of the prawns was so dry that it had shrivelled in the cooking process, so when you tried to open it, there was hardly anything in it. The one scallop served on the shell, was not a whole scallop and had clearly been sliced it was flat, and you could see that it had been sliced. The veal Milanese was the biggest disappointment, having never having had veal before, my friend had really bigged it up as she has had this lots in the past. It was like a lump of cardboard, it was so dry, had no flavour, and to be honest I didn’t know what I was eating. I have been put off ever having this again for sure. We did try and alert the staff, and speaking to a (man on a suit, as opposed to one in a waistcoat) he just said he would inform the chef of our displeasure,! We were made to feel very uncomfortable as this was clearly relayed to the rest of the staff about our feedback, who kept looking over ar our table. When I asked for the bill, I asked for the veal to be removed from our bill, which was taken away, we did not leave a tip/service, as we felt we did not get very good service. On our way out we were confronted by front desk to ask where we had made our booking from and our name, clearly to blacklist us from future bookings! shock horror, never again.
Be the first to ReplyDelightful rooftop lunch in the sun
How lovely to feel you are in Italy in the sun in summer when in fact it’s February and you are dining on the roof above Selfridges in the middle of London. This is just the perfect place for an escape from the shoppers below where you can enjoy some delicious wine and equally delicious small eats. It is suggested you have three of their small plates but one was enough for me for a light lunch. The staff are friendly and professional. Daniele and Viva particularly so. I ate alone for one lunch and couldn’t wait to take my husband for another lunch a couple of days later. He was equally enthusiastic about the entire occasion. Gorgeous.

Wonderful food, wonderful view I had Lobster ravioli with lobster bisque sauce, to die for. My wife had mozzarella balls, lovely starter then margarita pizza and garlic pizza both brilliant! And of course bruschetta . Very helpful and efficient service. Thanks will definitely go back but book next time.
Be the first to Replyzero atmosphere-stuck out the back
We asked for drinks and lunch and was told we would be on the terrace where we had been before but this time was taken to this horrible room with a few tables which was freezing 2 of the 3 heaters were broken and there was zero atmosphere in there. We asked to move lots of times but they said they were full. I would definitely ask where they are going to sit you if you go there as this section was dreadful. The staff were lovely but the atmosphere was flat
Be the first to ReplyAvoid!! It's not the foiliage filled oasis on the pictures!
The restaurant looks tired and clearly hasn't had any money spent on it since it opened. The fake flowers etc now just look cheap. The food was very poor. Fritto Misto was unusually fishy...did not taste fresh and we left half of it. Carbonara was a strange almost orange colour with too much sauce. The bread we ordered were clearly not fresh so returned and the pizza was just cooked in a convection oven, so something you could get in any restaurant. To top it off, the toilets stank and the cubicle was out of order. Thoroughly disapointing. Spend your money elsewhere!
Be the first to ReplyFood good..service appaling.
The food was lovely, the service which makes any meal was absolutely shocking. We had to ask for our bill 3 times, we were sat by the food pass and somehow got ignored/forgotten about. No dessert menu offered or even dessert at all. Also when my partner asked for the bill, he was abruptly shouted past as the waiter was shouting to the kitchen saying ‘shut up shut up I will be one minute’. We only paid the service charge as we were in a rush after being ignored for around 30 mins and having to ask for the bill multiple times. The tables by the chef prep area shouldn’t be there..you are a lost thought and it is to loud. The San Carlo on Regent Street is a lot better and professional, this place is purely for Instagram. So disappointed as we were looking forward to trying this. But honestly I would avoid.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth a visit unless you enjoy poor quality food
Food was terrible. Pizzas were soggy, the garlic bead was drowning in garlic butter. Water was served warm with no ice or lemon. I wax given paper napkins whilst others had cloth napkins. The dishes came out at different times. Also found the waiters attitude a little rude. Definitely didn’t pay the gratuity. The whole experience was a real let down. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Should have listened to the gentleman who complained on leaving about the service to the maitre de whilst I was waiting to be seated.

Absolute disaster. Greeting was terrible even though they call on the radios your coming up, for them to then ask again the name of the booking. Waited 15 minutes to get a drink service, and the Prosecco was left behind me, which I had to pour throughout my stay. Food service so slow. Had 3 mains and then waited 20 minutes for another 2. Then found a cut of a blue glove in our chicken. Sent back and waited over 20 minutes for a new one. The meat selection you get 1 lamb chop, a 2oz ribeye and a sausage that is butterflied for £25. We could get no one’s attention and 2 receptionist walked passed us ignored us. One manager when they finally came over said we’re lucky to have him? What does that even mean. Meal came to £200, but refused to pay for the food. Awful experience and will not return

My daughter and I came here for lunch for her birthday. It was a baking hot day and all the tables for 2 people were in the direct sunlight. I asked if we could be moved to a different table but were told no you can’t as those tables are for 3 or more people! This was despite there being lots of empty tables! I therefore moved my chair round the table so I was out of the sun but a female waitress dressed in black said “well you can’t sit there” and made me move back into the sun. I explained why I had moved but she was not remotely interested. We then saw her talking to her colleague in black whilst looking at us obviously talking about us! So rude. Two ladies on the table next to us were complaining about the same thing. There were plenty of tables pushed together to make a table of 4 so why couldn’t the 4 of us be moved there! Another gentleman on arrival said could they move but were told no so they in fact left the restaurant. The food all came out at different times and the pot of chips appeared when we had already eaten the rest of our food! There is a “discretionary” 12.5% service charge added to the bill. In my opinion you only leave a tip if you are pleased with the service which we were not. I therefore asked our waiter to remove the service charge. He said “I totally understand, you are the 7th person today to complain about the heat”. They also added drinks onto our bill which we hadn’t even had! When we booked the table we said it was for a birthday and they had “birthday” written next to our name on the list when we arrived. We weren’t expecting the meal to be paid for but a little cake or a free complimentary drink would have been a nice touch but nothing. When we have been to The Ivy previously for a birthday the staff there are wonderful and bend over backwards to help the customers and bring out a complimentary cake with a candle. Our waiter was lovely . He was dressed in blue so I imagine didn’t have as much authority as those dressed in black who are basically plain rude and not accommodating. The scenery is beautiful but that is all. We will not be returning and have told all our friends and family about the shoddy experience which you don’t expect from a high end restaurant in Selfridges!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing visit for special occasion!
This was our 3rd visit to you and our second time bringing friends with us. When making our booking I notified you that both couples were celebrating 25th wedding anniversaries. On checking my reservation 2days ago, this was confirmed by your colleague. This was also mentioned at your reception desk on arrival & I was told that we would be given a small dessert with candles. Nothing appeared…VERY disappointing! The service charge is far too high for the level of service received by you tonight. Beyond disappointing service, all the staff wanted to do was to get us out, so they could close the restaurant. We had to ask for our drinks order to be taken, staff were busy rushing up & down the restaurant, chase up food and then be told that a dessert that was ordered didn’t arrive because they were short of staff!? This really isn’t the level of service that I expected from this beautiful restaurant. The focus seems to be rushing customers out and not ensuring they have a memorable and enjoyable visit. Sadly, won’t be returning again & DEF won’t be recommending to friends….such a shame!
Be the first to ReplyIncredibly Disappointing Breakfast, Avoid!
Went for breakfast with family, was faced with a multitude of food issues: - Was served lukewarm water alongside our ordered drinks - Full english breakfast items were clearly cooked in advance and sat warm/reheated in microwave before service, this left everything to be incredibly dry and not up to standard i.e. hard dry bacon/wrinkled mushrooms/bone dry sausage and black pudding - Waiting staff forgot to bring the toast for the full english breakfast - Sausage 'bloomer' was a toasted sausage sandwich served in incredibly cheap white bread (dry as not buttered). Sandwich had only 2 sausages inside which left half the sandwich empty and the sausages had been reheated until incredibly dry and chewy. - Sausage 'bloomer' was served with rocket that was quite clearly reused from the night before (think very soggy and going off...) Then we come onto the service: - Despite being only one of 5 tables in the restaurant when we arrived, we were ignored for 10 minutes whilst the wait staff talked between themselves - When we asked a passing waiter to check on the missing toast, we were told to speak to our waiter and he walked off which was a highlight... - Table had been set without any knives and we had to ask for these to be brought over with the food - We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to bring the bill and then were ignored. This gave us no option but to walk up to the wait staff and pay whilst leaving (I honestly think we could've walked out without paying and nobody would've batted an eyelid!) Given that we have visited San Carlo restaurants 6 times previously, we went in as big fans and with high hopes. We've left questioning whether we'll ever eat in another again which is hugely disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed about the service
Disappointed about the service. We spent a lot of time waiting juste a bottle of water, then same for our plates. We didn’t have our plates at the same time and waiters were not that nice … On the opposite, really pretty place.
