Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Brooklyn Reviews from The Last Year
Currently my favorite theatre in Brooklyn.
Could use some cosmetic updating but their food, drinks and customer service are good.
Two stars for one reason: too loud.
Movie theaters in general have gotten louder, but the volume at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn is pretty unbearable. I've now seen two movies there and was miserable. Mentioning it to the employees doesn't help. My 13-year-old watched the Fall Guy with her fingers in her ears as well, so it's not just cuz I'm old. Some people in online comments advise wearing earplugs, but should you have to wear earplugs at the movies??? Concerts sure, you expect it, but there's seriously no reason a movie needs to be THAT loud. I'd rather just not go back to Alamo.
Doesn't have the fancy new recliners like the Fidi
Doesn't have the fancy new recliners like the Fidi location, BUT this one is on top of a really great food hall. Same chill atmosphere and well behaved fellow customers as any other Alamo.
Bad experience
Be careful when buying tickets to Alamo cinemas. After the preview starts, they don't let you in. The administration warns about this on the cinema's website. But you'll never know this if you ordered tickets online from a third party, such as Fandango.
Came here on a Saturday night.
I purchased the movie tickets online, giving that it was a new movie. Movie tickets were $18.99 with a convenience fee of $1.89 per ticket. Came to see in 2D GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE. This movie theatre is located in downtown Brooklyn at Albee Square Plaza. Theater is located on the 4th floor. There are spacious elevators and escalators for you to go up. They allow customers 30 minutes prior to show time to go inside the theater. Early birds enjoy a curated show before the show and a chance to order some cold drinks and unlimited popcorn before the movie starts. At 4 p.m., the House of Wax opens. There you can have cocktails, beers etc... Perfect for date night. Theater is spacious. Love the seating. For every two people, you share a table. I wish the seats all reclined. I believe only the front row seats recline. However, seats are spacious and comfortable. I wish all movie theater had a table where you can put your food on. I loved that the table was spacious, definitely a bonus when you take kids to the theater. Makes life easier and less of a mess. On each table, you have a menu and paper cards with a pen. You can fill out your order. Once you fill it out, you push it down, and you press a light button. This will alert a server to come take your order. Staff is friendly and helpful. We were in theater 7, and this theater held about 200 guests. I was impressed with how quickly our server came to take the order and how quick the food was coming out. Do not expect everything you order to come out together. Some foods take longer to come out. All seats seemed to have a good view. The bathroom has multiple stalls, so there is no big line. The movie theater is kept cleaned. The menu has a variety of foods to choose from they also have a kids' menu. You can order cocktails and beers. We ordered a cheese pizza, chicken tenders, queso with chips, milkshake, margarita cocktail, mozarella sticks, and a Caesar salad Everything tasted good. Definitely would recommend trying out this theater if you are in downtown Brooklyn.
I am a Season Pass holder for the last four months, and
I am a Season Pass holder for the last four months, and unfortunately, other than the excellent bar, the Brooklyn location fails to live up to the standards of even its cousin across the East River, much less San Francisco or Austin. The service is often very bad. I have not received my food. I have received 3x more order. I have had staff throw "to-go" boxes at my table. Though the title cards before the film say anyone who talks will be removed after multiple complaints, I have been in showings where half the crowd is at the front desk complaining that security was too timid to follow through on their own theater's policies. The food has also taken a downturn. Other than the pizza's, the rest of the menu is stagnant, and the food is poorly produced relative to all other Alamo locations. This is my local Alamo, and it's just wildly disappointing. If you have a season pass, and something goes wildly wrong, you can't even be refunded. The Manhattan spot is better, but there was a showing of Perfect Days where one staff member accidentally turned on the lights, and the rest of the staff refused to turn it back off until they got managerial approval. 45 minutes. The ONLY thing Alamo still has over Nite Hawk at this point is their variety. The theater in Brooklyn seems to be run by chronically high employees, employees that don't care, or both together.
Overall pretty good theater but they charge a $2
Overall pretty good theater but they charge a $2 "convenience fee" for tickets bought online, which is absolute horseshit. They know it's horseshit. This isn't 1994.
Back on 2/20 for the bob marley movie.
Service was still on the slow side and my light to alert that I placed an order was not working. Wanted a mule but they didn't have any ginger beer so I went with the bourbon peach smash which was good. The burger patty was bland but the toppings helped.
Great experience.
Ambiance was excellent. Will definitely come again. did not eat anything since I was unaware of the availability. Looked great . Will come hungry next time,
I came here for a 6:15pm movie.
The theater is a few flights up in the City Point Mall. Alamo Drafthouse is known for the "dinner and a movie" experience rolled into one. Each pair of seats has a table with menus. You right down your order on a paper pad and turn on your indicator light and a server comes to pick it up. The food is then served to you at your seats while the movie is playing. The servers walking back and forth are not as distracting as you might think. In addition to bar food favorites like nachos and loaded fries, they also have entrees like burgers and pizza, as well as a full cocktail menu. They only have one size for popcorn which is the unlimited bowl for $11. It's not a bad price and one bowl will be more than enough for most. It arrived satisfyingly warm and buttery. For an appetizer, we shared the vegan cauliflower bites. These were okay, but I didn't care too much for the texture or flavor. They were bready more than crispy. For my main, I got the hellfire burger with a beyond veggie patty. I was expecting the burger to be spicy, but it was dry and bland. Had a bit of a sour flavor too. The fries were unseasoned. I only had a few bites. For drinks, they were out of the first two cocktails I tried to order so I ended up getting the watermelon mezcal margarita. It was tart rather than sweet so I enjoyed the taste, but it had a bit too much ice. This particular location seems a bit older than some. The tables were rigid and wooden. The seats were not adjustable and did not recline. The flushing in the bathroom didn't work well and the soap dispensers were broken. Our server was very warm and friendly. So overall, not the best dining experience, but it's a nice idea. Next time, I'll stick to the simpler appetizers and skip a full meal here.
Title: Disappointing Experience at Alamo Drafthouse
Title: Disappointing Experience at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn on December 30th, 2023. My cousins and I attended the 9:30 pm movie screening, and what should have been a fun night turned into a frustrating ordeal. Upon arrival, I encountered a series of issues that left me thoroughly dissatisfied. First, I was informed that there were no seats available, despite having purchased my tickets online. The confusion surrounding seat availability set the tone for what would unfold next. To my disbelief, I was then told that I had exceeded the 15-minute late policy. Let me be clear: I arrived at the building at 9:35 pm due to elevator delays, and despite explaining that I had been inside, waiting for the elevator, and took the escalator due to delays, I was denied entry based on an inflexible adherence to this 15-minute policy. Engaging with the manager proved futile as he unapologetically upheld the policy without considering the circumstances. What baffles me is that my cousin, who arrived moments before me, was allowed in while I was denied entry. This lack of consistency and fairness in policy enforcement is deeply disappointing. Furthermore, when I questioned the manager about the exact start time of the movie, he couldn't provide a clear answer, which raises concerns about their overall management and communication. The manager's decision to call security on me, despite my cousin confirming our familial connection, further added to the unpleasantness of the situation. Adding insult to injury, the website does not explicitly mention a 15-minute grace period, and the manager's insistence on this policy was contradicted by the continued entry of patrons after my encounter. The refusal to provide a refund and offering only a voucher for a future visit instead of immediate entry or reimbursement further underscores the lack of customer-centric practices. This experience left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated, leading me to question the professionalism and fairness of Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn. I am inclined to believe that racial discrimination played a role in the manager's decision, as evidenced by the differential treatment compared to other patrons. I hope this review serves as a cautionary note for others considering a visit to this theater.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
