Service - I had dined at Mel's and the manager was kind enough to take us to discolo where I got a drink and decided to head out for the night. The bar at Al coro was closed and all I asked the closing bartender was for a glass of water. His response was "where are you seated?, I Responded I just got out of discolo it was pretty packed. His response - the section is closed, I don't have any ice or water, sorry it's policy". In all my years of going out for dinner or drinks this was the first time someone responded in such a rude and unpleasant way.The Restaurant has two Michelin stars.. I hope the service doesn't take away from it.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a fantastic experience at Al Coro recently.
The five course tasting to be exact. LANGOUSTINE CRUDO - A solid starter but undoubtedly the weakest dish of the night imo. Unique and tasty but not necessarily a Two Star dish. Good but not great, and since everything else was, it feels every-so-slighty like a letdown. But again, still good. Just tough competition.VITELLO TONNATO - AMAZING. Easily the best vitello tonnato I have ever had. It always surprises me how well this combination of ingredients works together, and never more so than at Al Coro where it was superb. Possibly my favorite dish of the evening. AGNOLOTTI IN BRODO - Delicious. One of the four of us thought that the brodo was a bit salty, and I can see that because it certainly wasn't lacking salt, but I thought it balanced the savory agnolotti filling perfectly. SHORT RIB + Potato Pave + Oxtail Brodo - Incredible. A top shelf dish and one of those that makes you want to return ASAP. Hearty, rich, balanced... just fantastic. Served up to the four of us in family-style fashion - it was a larger portion than expected, but that didn't stop any of us from leaving our plates squeaky clean. I want it again. Now.HAZELNUT YUZU PANNA COTTA - Hazelnuts and yuzu are two of my favorite things on the planet so there was no question which dessert I was going with. It was bright and sweet without being cloying. I also tried some of the Chocolate/Coffee Torta and it was AWESOME. Almost made me regret my choice. Almost. The service was friendly and on point. Not at all pretentious or stiff. The music was great. The space is gorgeous but I could see how people would feel it's a bit cold. *We also enjoyed the wine pairings and each presented worked well alongside the dish it accompanied.Probably more of a 4.5 than a true 5 because I like to consider the value/price-tag when offering up a review, but all-in-all it's undoubtedly a restaurant I'll hit again this year.

..honestly felt more like 1 star Michelin food with the 2 star price lol. Went with the 3 course tasting...Langostine: this fell flat...lacked seasoning and acid, needed a sprinkling of Madlรณn salt, drizzle of good EVOO and squeeze of lemonTajarin: very tasty and solid pasta dish, Castelvetrano olives are what make itAgnolotti: super rich and flavor capon broth with little pasta flavor bombs floating in itOxtail broth: they love their brodos here lol; another good onePave: very rich and flavorful with savory notes from black truffleShort rib: super tender with complimentary roasted root veg and creamy horseradish cream sauceTorta 900: bit too sweet for my taste and a tad too chocolatey for my tasteHazelnut yuzu panna cotta: this one is more my speed, bright notes from the yuzu and crunch from the hazelnut merengue All in all, AL Coro isn't really worth the price unless you have a few hundred to blow or are trying to impress someone on a special occasion. I feel like there are many other places that you can receive the same quality food and service at a fraction of the price.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular meal and very well executed.
As expected the staff and food were too notch. We did the 7-course Piedmont menu and it was fabulous. Highlights were both of the pastas, and the short rib that just melted in your mouth. I liked the chocolate over the panna cotte. Expensive but you expect that.

Wow. I don't even know where to start. First. How on gods green earth does this place have not just one but TWO Michelin stars? Were the Michelin inspectors high or drunk? I am not a snob. Seriously. I'll eat a good 50 cent taco and rave about it any day of the week. I couldn't even stand to take pictures of the food here. Every dish was sub par. And the service, while nice enough was 10000% below what you expect at a 2 star Michelin. Biggest disappointment ever.
Be the first to ReplyTheir Piedmont inspired tasting menu is absolutely amazing.
Went to 2 other Michelin 3 star places earlier this week but Al Coro is my favorite.

Restaurant was decent, but they double charged me for my visit. I tried reaching out multiple times and never received a call back from management. Disappointing and unprofessional.

Amazing! Better food than Del Posto and the service is 5 star like Del Posto if you need a comparison.

Al Coro is a stunning new restaurant in the old Del Posto space! I sat at the bar- which is stunning with super comfy chairs and amazing cocktails. The wonderful bartender Jason ( fellow southerner) took very good care of us. The food is great but a little on the pricey side. I would recommend coming here for a special night with a special person!Definitely start with the PIAVE IN CARROZZA. It melts in your mouth! Also, highly recommend the lasagna. Save room for dessert as well!

Al Coro is a stunning 2 Michelin star gem in the former Del Posto space. It's a spectacle, the service is great and the food is delicious. The carozza, and lasagna were the standouts. It is over priced. The portions are extremely small (ex the lasagna which is fairly sized). But it's great for a special occasion or if you're happy to spend a few bones.

Ambience is ok - not nearly as nice as del posto used to be. Food was barely at 1 Michelin level. Service was bad for what it should be: Very slow pace / waiter accidentally mixed different wines in same glass!! I wouldn't expect this place to stay open long. Space is so nice though - too bad.
