Agaves Cantina Mt. Pleasant Reviews from The Last Year
Family Friendly Mexican
Our family ate dinner and sat outside under the fans. We truly enjoyed everything. My sons ordered was brought to table incorrect but the server was so nice and immediately took the plate away and corrected his order promptly. Highly recommend.
Meh...
This place is just your basic low quality Mexican restaurant. I ordered a burrito at lunch. It wasn't what I think of as a burrito. It was more like one tiny enchilada and a cold pile of rice on my plate. The meat in the"burrito" was so tough and full of fat that I could not chew it. This is a good place to come for drinks, but skip the food.

Visited the restaurant , Mt Pleasant SC location on Saturday June the 15th with 2 other ladies friends, we are local and my friends wanted to try Agave's at my recommendation because I've visited your other locations and very excited to have you in Mt P. A bit disappointed because the service wasn't what I knew from other locations , starting with the host, a smile won't hurt.... She sat us down and we got the chips and salsa (delicious ) but no one else came after that to ask us what drinks we wanted. We were sitting down by the "back" door end of the bar and at least 6 servers were having a good time/conversation but not acknowledging the patrons. Also I had to ask 3 people for extra chips. And our margaritas were tasteless, kind of water down. i hate to complain and never done it before but I like you place very much, please don't lower your standards. Thanks Gladys
Service.
Any improvement to the service would be better than what I received. Rude staff. Order was wrong with hardly anybody in the restaurant.

First in time here and was very impressed with the decor and the food. The margaritas were very watery however Definitely will be back for the food though!!!
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!
They do not give the fill order and refuse to fix their mistake. Don't go here, they are essentially stealing from their guests.
It was terrible all ways around.
I went in around 5 and it was empty, me and my boyfriend were the only ones in the restaurant for about 30 minutes. The food and service was terrible. The food was bland, it had no flavor at all and the server was rushing us to get out.

My wife and I recently dined at Agaves Cantina, and we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy and lively ambiance. The restaurant's rustic interior and warm lighting create a welcoming atmosphere. This was the best mid-day outing in a long time, let me count the ways! 1. Virgin Piña Colada: My wife opted for this refreshing non-alcoholic drink. It combined the tropical flavors of pineapple and coconut, making it a delightful choice. 2. Carne Asada Lunch Meal: I ordered the carne asada burrito from the lunch menu. The tender grilled steak was seasoned to perfection, and it came with flavorful rice and beans. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were spot-on. 3. Horchata: I tried the horchata, a traditional rice-based beverage. What made it unique was the subtle taste of Fireball--adding a hint of warmth and spice to the classic cinnamon and vanilla flavors. 4. Asada Burrito Lunch Meal: The carne asada burrito was wrapped in a soft tortilla and accompanied by a zesty salsa. The marinated beef was juicy and flavorful. Our server, Kenya, was attentive and friendly. She ensured our dining experience was enjoyable. Kenya's warm demeanor added to the overall positive impression.
Went in and we were seated in a booth.
We waited and waited as every server and even bartender watched us and even walked by. The only thing they were interested in was going to the bathroom. After 15 minutes of trying to get their attention for even a glass of water we walked out.

This is the FIRST Mexican restaurant that is really Mexican!! As a Cali Girl in Carolina, I KNOW Mexican food and Agaves passes the tastebud test! Service, food AND margaritas are on point! It's a low key environment but perfect for good eats with good friends or even a casual first date. The seafood nachos are excellent and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. For a taste of Mexican food in the Lowcountry, Agaves is your place to stop! Your tastebuds will thank you.
Truly busy and that's okay.
The staff kept up and the food was great as always. Gotta try to remember to come after 7pm. for a more relaxed experience, especially on a weekend evening.
Early dinner at the bar.
Walked in at 4 and it was empty, by the time we left at 6 it was packed. Friendly bartender, decent drinks but the tacos were fantastic! Soft corn tortillas were cooked perfectly. I had the tofu taco which I was skeptical of at first bc it has pineapple in it. Glad I didn't modify it bc there was just a hint of pineapple and it was really good. My husband had the fried calamari and grilled fish taco and loved both. Family friendly, they have high chairs. Vegetarian friendly with a separate vegetarian section on the menu
Service is way to fast, how they can prepare fresh food and serve it only after 1-2 minutes after ordering is concerning.
Good is ok, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I've been there multiple times, the fish tacos kept me going back but it will be awhile before I go back again. The problem i have is the service is way too fast. The last two times I've been there it's been less than 25 minutes until the check is coming. Sit down and they take drink orders and provide salsa and chips, gotta love that. The drink comes and they take your order, and before I can even finish 10-15% of my drink th dinner is there. Then the check comes. If I was in a rush, that would be helpful. When I want to relax, that's the last thing I want. I even went and spoke to the manager, they're losing crazy revenue buy serving so fast. I would have ordered a 2nd drink, as would my wife have, had they given us 10-15 minutes to bring the food after we ordered, not 1-2 minutes.

This place sucks!!! The food has no flavor ( not even the salsa) and the service is horrible. I ordered the lunch quesadilla and behold it come with no sides and it wasn't folded over. The waitress argues with me and says that's what I ordered and the lunch portion doesn't come with beans, rice, quac and etc. so then she goes and grabs a menu and what do you know.... It comes with the salad and beans. Then I was told again that's not what I ordered. 1 out of 10, I do not recommend!!!!!
Just a little worse every time we come.
I think this is our last time. It's unfortunate because they're in the neighborhood. We got their large margaritas, but they were just Kool-Aid without any tequila. I got the fajitas. The chicken was dry and the vegetables were not cooked. I can't blame a service, but the kitchen is going to have to do better.
My first and last time at this establishment.
The service was awful! Our server spent most of his time socializing with friends/family that were seated outside. Food took way too long, was cold , and the entire order was messed up. We asked for the sour cream and guac to be on the side but we did not get them at all and had to ask twice. The veggie quesadilla was soggy and gave me a stomach ache. The so called margarita was the worst I have ever had and not worth the $9.95 I paid for it. Definitely not worth their prices.
Recently had lunch at Agaves with friends.
The shrimp tacos were delicious and the margaritas even better! We sat at the bar and the bartender was fantastic! She checked on us regularly, kept our drinks filled and added charm to the overall atmosphere! Kudos also the dining room team who had to clean up after a family (2 adults and kids) that absolutely destroyed their table and surrounding areas with spilled drinks, dropped food and left behind "mess". Thanks to the restaurant crew, but the family "adults" should be ashamed of themselves.
Service started good, then went awful.
When we walked in we were immediately seated, brought chips and salsa, and our drink orders were taken. Server was very attentive taking our orders. However our server seemed annoyed when we asked for a refill on salsa or our waters. After our food came our server came by and asked if we needed anything, which we didn't at the time. After this we didn't see her for 30 minutes or more. We were ready to leave and couldn't get our check. Food was pretty good typical Mexican food. The refried beans were absolutely delicious, as was the salsa.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
|
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
