Overall a good experience.
Our visit was good but I had high expectations for Restaurant 8 and sadly wasn’t blown away (especially considering the £500 price tag), however with a few tweaks it could be very good. The initial experience in the “waiting / bar” area is good and the host Hayley very welcoming and helpful. There you can order drinks and enjoy “chefs snacks”. The snacks were very good, especially the tuna taco served to you by the chef. I should say here that Andy Sheridan wasn’t there himself (the two chefs in his place were still very good) however, when paying a peak supplement on top of the price of an extra £15pp this ought not to be charged on evenings where Andy himself is not the chef in my opinion - and diners should be made aware in advance if he is not going to be there. From there you enter the restaurant experience and have the food cooked and served to you. Here is where the concept becomes slightly flawed, the restaurant is billed as an immersive interactive experience but in reality because of the set up of the seats along a long bar only the 4 seats directly in-front of the chef have an interactive experience. Unfortunately we were sat to the far left of the long table and no cooking took place in front of us, even though there were hobs directly in front. This results in some guests having a substandard experience to the rest of the group, although having paid the same. It seems strange to me that more effort wouldn’t be made to ensure an interactive experience for all guests when this could be easily achieved, either by moving guests around after each “ section” of the menu - mains / starter, or simply the chef moving his preparation area before dessert for example. The scallop dish and sea trout were very good. The wine pairing was good, with Hayley picking some fantastic wines to accompany the dishes. Overall with a few tweaks the restaurant could be excellent but the seating needs to be addressed for it to fulfil expectations as an interactive experience.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent hosts. Special mentions to Hayley and (in the absence of Andrew) young, local (by the accent) chef J (not sure how he spells J…) but he can cook, well, and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything he does and they do. Our 2nd visit, value for money questionable as very expensive (with drinks, we went for the (excellent) wine pairing) but an experience to remember and food not to forget, highly recommended

Wow!!! What a place. Beautiful decor and beautiful food. 5* service from Hayley, our hostess who took time to interact with us without being overly attentive. Many thanks to Franco for cooking our taster menu and expertly explaining what flavours to expect. A fantastic experience that we will definitely repeat!!!

A truly remarkable experience, we wanted to spend a good time for our 34 years anniversary and really it made our day and week, food was fantastic the team was magnificent attention and dedication to details . All in all one of the best foods we have had in our life…

An amazing experience. With out to many spoilers the restaurant appeared to have a capacity of 16 clients. The restaurant has a tasting menu which was to die for. We chose to have the accompanying wines. The chef interacted with us all, the service has top notch. Really enjoyed our experience, thank you

Super sensual, sexy amazing restaurant. Handful of staff, top sounds, food of the gods. Just go. Japanese sushi bar type seating, amazing counter cum hob, great chefs and a spectacularly good hostess.
An unusual and special evening with fantastic food.
Wonderful evening at 8. The food was fantastic but the evening was much more than that. The evening began in the bar area where snacks were served. Diners were then lead to the restaurant area where we sat along two sides, watching the chefs preparing the dishes. Everyone was served the set menu together which encouraged discussion and appreciation. The chefs were happy to chat and explain their techniques and all the staff were relaxed and friendly, really making the evening special. The dishes were interesting, tasty and amazing to look at and were made with quality ingredients. We tried the restaurant because we had a Virgin voucher but we will definitely return and happily pay the usual price, as the quality of the menu and experience was more than worth it. A really lovely restaurant for a special evening.
What an experience!
It’s an experience from start to finish. Nothing we’ve come across before and we’ve fine dined in many high end Michelin places. Front of house staff amazing, paid close attention to detail and were. really friendly. Food and wine pairings on point. I think we had the best seats on the pass watching everything being prepared and interacting with the chef. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere special when in Liverpool.
Exceptional Dining Experience
This was the most wonderful experience, I bought this for my fiancé as it’s been on his wish list for a while. It did not disappoint infact it overwhelmed us, from the warm and friendly welcome to the stories shared inbetween courses. From entering the restaurant through a quaint little black door it created a sense of theatrical integument. The decor is rich and vibrant, from the welcome drinks to the main event it was full of surprise and delights. I can not thank the team enough for making this one of thee best dining experiences and we can not wait to return later in the year with friends to share this wonderful establishment with them.
Exquisite meal
The whole experience was absolutely incredible! The food was delightful; even better than we had expected. And though we had been apprehensive about the shared dining experience, it was lovely. We feel very fortunate to have been able to see the very friendly and talented team prepare such an exquisite meal. None of it was pretentious, it was just a great experience from start to finish. We can’t wait to go back some day!

When Restaurant 8 was in Birmingham, i went to the first opening night! That was way back in October 2020. And i was planning my next visit only to find that the restaurant was moving to Liverpool, i this point the plan was to still visit restaurant 8, but thought I'll give it time to settle down in it homecoming place. Having known the concept of 8's dining, which is shared dining bench eating. This type of dining i tried at the Birmingham site gives you an excellent experience meeting and talking to the people opposite sides of you. From my last visit in 2020, Mr. Andrew Sheridan's style of cooking has come on leaps and bounds. From the start when the canapés come out, you get a sense of what's to come throughout the meal. With every course over the night, the food just gets better!! From the delicious plump scallop, to the awesome heritage beef that's got a wicked grating of Truffle, with the cod that was so so good to eat ! And this absolutely perfect duck dish that also come with more Truffle and this outstanding duck leg Crumpet. Then to the outstanding dessert section, that had plenty to offer! Passionfruit & coconut was so refreshing and so banging Then this Saffron Bun comes out with a pot of clotted cream with rhubarb! Boy it was so moreish to hell. Then to the end of a cheese course which was a soda Bread, baron bigod cheese and more lashings of Truffle on top.. And after an amazing atmosphere night we all moved over to the pre drinks space to have good chats with my table Neighbors about what we just experienced throughout the meal, with a plate of petit Fours to relax to.. Now i can say one thing is that 8 has definitely evolve it to some great! Moving away from Birmingham has probably been good for the restaurant! As liverpool is in a league better then Birmingham! Just the layout of the city is just way better than Birmingham! And I'm dam looking forward to come back very soon...
The Best Dining Experience
This was such an experience. Intimate yet social. The service is outstanding very attentive, the atmosphere was perfect, calm, welcoming. All of the staff were knowledgeable, informative, helpful and so friendly. The food was exquisite, the flavours and decadence of each plate was fantastic We had the pleasure of chef Francesco, everything cooked in front of us to perfection, The detail and presentation of each course was intriguing to watch It was a calm, luxurious, exquisite experience.
If you’re looking for something special don’t hesitate in booking this experience. You will absolutely love it.
We always try to book something special for our wedding anniversary. We had heard some really nice reviews on this restaurant, and decided to give it a try. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome. The staff are dressed really well and are extremely friendly. The food is absolutely delicious the presentation of each dish is amazing. It’s fabulous to watch the chef up close, you can really feel the passion he has for food. Would we recommend of course we would.

Was our first time and definitely won’t be our last. Everything was absolutely amazing. It was so well organised and the food was out of this world. Can’t wait to go again

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
