7 Adams San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Their tasting menu is so fantastic and such an amazing
Their tasting menu is so fantastic and such an amazing value!! I am still in shock over how reasonable the price is. $87 for a 5-course tasting menu. Every dish was exquisite!! It was such a lovely and light summer menu. We started with a fresh hokkaido scallop (so delicious!), then chilled corn veloute, then a choice of 3 different pastas. I chose the cacio e pepe ravioli with black truffles, which was a $25 supplement, but SO WORTH IT! That was probably the standout dish of the evening. Then entrees, I had the vegetarian - they are very accommodating to vegetarians, I'm not even a vegetarian but I opted for that entree and it was delicious. Others at my table loved the seared black cod. I'm sure the wagyu ribeye is fantastic too! And then dessert was wonderful. The food is not heavy so you won't feel overstuffed, but you'll definitely be full. Service was warm and professional. And the complimentary rolls with butter at the beginning are SO GOOD! I will definitely be back to check out their fall and winter menus. Highly recommend.
Wow! This was our first visit to 7 Adams.
We'd eaten at Marlena several times, and they've really upped their game. Everything was perfect: food, wine, service, our waiter's recommendations, vibe, and value for the quality. We'll be back!
The service was top-notch, and the food was excellent.
We ate outside on the small patio, which is covered and shielded from the wind. There were heaters that worked very well.
Really Great.
We loved Marlena, but thought 7 Adams was better. Every dish was very very solid. Slightly more conventional dishes than Marlena (to our pleasure). No foams or strange ingredients. Distinct delicious flavors and textures. Just really good inventive high quality dishes. The Milk Bread was a great start. We joked with our waiter that when the night is over the kitchen staff must be rushing to the extra milk breads. He said, "no, really, we are". Lovely low key restaurant and they are staffed to the gills so great service and you get eye contact and a nice hello and goodbye from every staff person you pass. Sea Bass: A+. And, like Marlena, the desserts are beyond great.

7 Adams provides high fine dining experience at a reasonable price! From the dark simple exterior, I was pleasantly surprised by the bright modern design of the restaurant. I especially loved the modular lighting fixture behind the bar that makes the whole dining area pop. The chefs are alumni of the Michelin starred Marlena restaurant. Similar to Marlena, 7 Adams offers a relatively affordable prix fixe menu where diners enjoy a five-course meal for $87. With fees and taxes, the price comes out to be more than advertised but still for a date night or special occasion, definitely worth the price. Although I could explain the dishes, I had the menu does change on a seasonal basis so this does warrant repeat visits! I thought all but one of the five dishes were *chef's kiss* so definitely good enough to recommend and would love to take my friends to if they come around. Plus, the service was excellent from the presentation and the explanation of the dishes were clear and simple to understand. Parking is limited around the area so Uber/Lyft is probably for the best. Or if you are comfortable with walking, there is possibly some free parking further away. Overall, highly recommend 7 Adams and can't wait to visit again!
I like to think I'm a foodie but in reality I love to eat.
The service, staff and food is 5 star at 7 Adam. It was great at Marlena but I think it's elevated and has set a very high bar. The food is presented for each course with an explanation of what is before you. It's so beautifully plated. The aroma is superb. The taste is Wow! I recommend getting one or both supplements if the intrigue you. Our nite we chose the A5 Wagyu ribeye. It was so indescribable, we shared plates so we could experience the whole offerings of the evening. My wife saved her A5 Wagyu to be the last bite so she could savour the mouth feel and taste it was so good. We can't wait to return again.
Great dinning experience at 7 Adams.
Casual and elegance in perfect balance. The restaurant is small but in an intimate way rather than feeling cramped. The five course menu was very tasty and the perfect amount of food for me. The first two courses were probably our favorites. Main courses felt a bit less complex but did offer a more expected flavor profile. The fish and pork were cooked to perfection. Desert was pretty good too. Wait staff was very kind and attentive but also laid back and easy going. I appreciate the staff doing their best to accommodate my dietary restrictions.
26% junk fees, mandatory on top of your bill.
This is one of the worst offenders I've seen so far in the city. Food was decent although they forgot about our dessert.
Solid food cooked with evident skill and plated
Solid food cooked with evident skill and plated attractively. It's clear the owners and staff take care and pride in their house so it's unfortunate that I found the flavors were not new or distinctive. For example, the "corn veloute," although creamy and smooth and dotted with various oils and microscopically sliced vegetables, could not escape tasting like a regular corn chowder. The cuttlefish (black ink) pasta cost $20 in addition to the prix fixe of the tasting menu, but cuttlefish isn't expensive. At 7 Adams' high prices, I cannot bring myself to go back. Note that there is only a tasting menu at this time (and a far more expensive chef's table selection) and that the required gratuity and various taxes add 40% to the bill. The dining room is head-splittingly noisy; the heated outdoor space is pleasant and much quieter.
Went here last week and the food was excellent! The service
Went here last week and the food was excellent! The service was also great. This is a good deal for a tasting menu at under $100 (pre tax and tip). I would say I was about 85% full after the meal. The only unfortunate outcome was that me and one other person in my group got minor food poisoning the next morning (we hadn't eaten or drank anything else together that day so can only attribute it to this meal).

This was our first time at 7 Adams, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the 5-course prix fixe was delicious. Our favorites: hokkaido scallop, corn veloute, and english pea cappelletti. We both felt that the weakest item was the berkshire port collar, which we found dry, once the sauce was gone. It was, however, nicely lean. The meal, at $87/person, is a great value compared to other multi-course prix fixe menus in San Francisco. The patio is very nice--comfortable on a cold, windy day. We'll be back.

The bread rolls they give you to start are warm, buttery, bliss. We loved each course and it felt like a great deal for such a high quality bar. I imagine the prices will eventually increase as it gets more popular. I also absolutely loved the winter citrus dessert. The sommelier also gave us a great wine suggestion!
I wanted to love this because the menu looked so good but
I wanted to love this because the menu looked so good but everything except the dessert lacked in flavor. Tiny portions...the avocado thing with the scallop tasted like Safeway guacamole dip, the bread they served tasted like it was also from a Safeway bakery. The risotto was very overcooked and bland, I couldn't even taste any bottarga. Fish was cooked well but not that tasty to me. This was so overpriced for the experience and I feel bad writing this review because the staff was super friendly and nice, and the space is pretty. The plating of each dish was really beautiful, but it was all so underwhelming for me except for the chocolate dessert which was actually phenomenal. If they can get their other dishes to meet that wow factor this place would be amazing. I'm glad others seemed to enjoy it but I did not have that experience unfortunately.
I came in with rather high expectations because of all the
I came in with rather high expectations because of all the accolades I had heard about 7 Adams and it unfortunately did not live up to them. I struggled whether to give 3 or 4 stars here because everything was fine but had room for improvement. I landed on 3 stars because at the end of the day, 7 Adams is billed as a fine dining experience but the experience didn't feel so fine. I feel bad giving this a 3 star review because the kitchen and staff were clearly hustling hard and the whole operation was like a beautiful dance. The food was beautifully presented and all the elements cooked well but lackluster in flavor. The milk bread felt a little underdone and like it couple be a little more fluffy. The scallop course was gorgeous but the ingredients felt decorative rather than additive and needed a little more zing. The asparagus course was fine but nothing special. The risotto dish called to me because I love bottarga and morels and the dish was described to me as flavors of the sea due to the phytoplankton, dulse, and bottarga but the Parmesan was so overwhelming that it tasted like a regular cheesy risotto. The pork was possibly the standout dish for me as the richness and depth of the sauce added another layer to the tender pork collar and I enjoyed the textural contrast and flavors of the breakfast sausage. The other aspect where 7 Adams failed to deliver a fine dining experience was in their service. While I'm absolutely grateful that 7 Adams now accommodates single diners at the bar, I wonder if the experience would have been better at a table. I pulled up to my seat at the bar right as the staff was explaining the menu in detail to the woman already seated there. Throughout the evening, I was made aware of how lacking the service was because of the contrast in the attentiveness provided to the guest to my right. No one bothered to explain the menu to me. Eventually, someone came over and asked if I had any questions, and because of that, I thought perhaps they had different waiters/waitresses per person at the bar. Nah, it was just that my person was inattentive to what appeared to certain people. (I noticed the same inattentive treatment to the only other people of color at the bar). There were some details about the menu I wish I had known, such as that the pork collar was sous vide, and only found out later because I heard the wait person describing it to other people at the bar. For almost every course, the lady to my right was asked how things were. I was only asked if I was done. To be fair, most of the other staff were lovely but something felt off about the cadence and cohesiveness of service. At times, it felt no different than dining at a hotel bar. Btw, 7 Adams is billed as an affordable tasting menu because the listed price is $87 but (and I'm sure this is not a shock to anyone), I did spend around $200 after adding wines, surcharges, tax, and the automatic 20% gratuity. There are a couple of supplemental options on the menu so the price can add up.
I wish I could time travel and go back to when I first took
I wish I could time travel and go back to when I first took a bite into the fish at this place! Perfectly tender, flavorful, fresh fish, and amazingly paired with the sauce. I think the food here was definitely well-done and all the flavor profiles were so well-rounded and meticulously thought through. You definitely get a big bang for your Buck!! Their wine was also really good! The service was great. They took our jackets and bags to hang for us, they consistently filled our water, and did a great job explaining each dish and what to expect. The inside was really well designed. I could tell they thought about the color scheme, and it just made for a nice environment. I'd definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or to meet up with some folks! Get a reservation in advance!
Definitely worth the experience to try a fine dining
Definitely worth the experience to try a fine dining experience from a Michelin-starred chef for $87 pp. Reservation is required. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Bathroom is super clean, although there is only one. When we got seated, the staff explained the five-course tasting menu set-up, and detailed each of the courses. There wasn't too long of a wait between each course, but it felt longer because we were all so hungry! Initially, I was worried I wouldn't be full with the first three courses coming out in small portions, but the entree filled all of us up, to a good amount (not overly full), so I was satisfied with the portions. Our five-course tasting menu for May 12th consisted of: 0. Complimentary Milk Bread with Butter 1. Cured Hiramasa (yellowtail) 2. Asparagus (with hazelnut vinaigrette, nettle, & farro chip) 3. English Pea Cappelletti OR Phytoplankton Risotto 4. Seared Black Cod OR Berkshire Pork Collar 5. Spiced Chocolate OR Spring Forward (cake with coconut sorbet & poached rhubarb) The complimentary milk bread was really good - soft, sweet and just melts in your mouth! It was slightly salted on top, and really delightful with the butter. I also enjoyed the first two courses, but when the risotto came out, the flavors just blew my taste buds. It was amazing - my absolute favorite out of all the courses. I didn't try the cappelletti, but I heard it was amazing as well. The seared cod was good as well. Surprisingly, the pork was thicker than I expected, so it filled our stomachs up quickly. I enjoyed the chocolate dessert way more than the spring forward, as I was not a fan of the rhubarb.
Wow. The only thing good about this place is the people.
Wow. The only thing good about this place is the people. Waiter et al were wonderful. Five small course with no flavor, tiny wine pours from mediocre wines then for the finale, a bill that adds a 20% tip on the taxes and then all the joy, a 6% surcharge on the whole bill. Race to try the place because it won't be around long.

A very affordable tasting menu that boasts some outstanding entrees and desserts. Some great features I noticed: Gender neutral restrooms (1 stall) Had to look up many menu items for a lot of the Italian terms. It was fun and educational! Menu is so soft! New cutlery for each course. Staff was always prepared and courteous. Intimate yet chic setting. Geison Dealcoholized Sparkling Brut Nice bubbly. Crisp taste. Japanese Milk Bread Rolls with House Butter Lightly salted on top. Creamy butter. Incredibly soft roll. Hokkaido Scallop Tangy green sauce. Nutty on the bottom. Fresh possibly fruit on top. Tender scallop. All in all fantastic. Asparagus Hazelnut vinaigrette, which is actually creamy. Comes with two crackers. Flavored with a red spice. The moistness of the asparagus pairs nicely with the bite of the crackers. English Pea Cappelletti Hearty pasta. Crunchy Parmesan. Distinct broth flavor. Pulled together, the items make a very cohesive dish. Seared Black Cod Amazing. Citrus and cream sauce is delectable. Fish is so tender with crispy skin. Spring Forward A great blend of flavors to make a refreshing treat. I'll have to come back another season to try the changing menu!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
