Our waitress Rachel was very knowledgeable on the menu and she made our experience memorable. Can't say enough about her! Will be coming back:)
I've been going to 220 Merrill for many years.
Always an excellent restaurant experience. Consistently delicious food and an inviting ambience. Today our server was Dominic. Great service, great personality, and very professional. He always made sure we had what we needed, making our lunch a very pleasant experience.
Food was great Rodolfo did a great job.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and my cowboy ribeye.

Started the night off rough at another nearby restaurant and in comes 220 Merrill to literally save the day and dinner. Thank you for being so accommodating and for the impeccable service from both the wait staff and host team. Food was delicious and really hit the spot. We ended up getting a few shareables for the table and it was perfect. Based on what we experienced tonight I would 100% recommend this restaurant twice over. Thanks again!
One of the best restaurants in Birmingham.
The service was impeccable (ask for Carol), the food was delicious, and overall experience was 10/10. Additionally, I really appreciated the mocktail menu they crafted with non-alcoholic spirits. If you are looking for a range of great food and drink options as well to be greeted with care and consideration, try 220, you will not be disappointed.

I recently had a wonderful experience at 220 Merrill and wanted to repay the favor! Rachel was our server and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, even when we were a handful! Her smile and warm energy brightened up our day and only added to the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere!

We were a party of 6 on a Sunday night for my birthday celebration. The reservation was fine, and they called a couple hours before to make sure we were coming. Our server Sam was nice and friendly but felt like he didn't take his job seriously at all. For the prices you pay, you expect a little more higher end service. The meals came out in 2 trips, but one was forgotten about. We sat for a few minutes thinking it would come but it didn't. I had to get up and speak to another server because ours was M.I.A. The manager also overheard me talking to him and then went in the back to check. Sam eventually came to the table to see what the problem was. Why wasn't he told and why didn't he check on the table after the food was brought out? The whole thing was weird. Her dinner was delivered and by that time we were so turned off. Not that we need huge portions but they were a bit small as well. The atmosphere was loud and full of the young affluent people of the Birmingham area. Nothing nice or respectable about it. Sam was helping a young couple that got seated next to us and one asked what a bearnaise sauce was. Sam's response..."You know, a bernaise sauce...like you know...the sauce they put on steaks." It was a total face palm moment. This guy probably makes a good amount from tips for not doing much. It was a really bad experience and we most definitely won't be back. To top it off, the valet for my in-laws took forever and was quite chaotic, and insanely overpriced. They didn't know about the parking garage right next door. Go to Bella Piatti if you want exceptional fine dining in the Birmingham area. NIGHT AND DAY.

Oh man, wish I took photos of our entrees too, but we destroyed them. We got here during their happy hour menu, so we didn't have access to their lunch and dinner menus, which was a bummer. That said, everything we got hitttttt the spot. No complaints. From the happy hour menu, can't go wrong with the chicken wrap, burger meatballs, and fries.

Beautiful location, we ate outside and it was lovely.
We had excellent service from our server, Paige. She was cheery and quick. The food was amazing. Definitely a gem to visit.

Booked a reservation of 4 for my wife at 220 for Mother's Day brunch. We were seated right away. We were traveling with our toddler son and baby son who is 8 months. They were very accommodating to us to seat us in a location where we could fit his car seat comfortably. The service was fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. My toddler ordered the chicken fingers with fries which he liked. We ordered the banana foster pancakes for the table to share. They were massive and delicious. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi which she liked. I ordered the 220 western omelette which was fantastic. This is a very bougie vibe type of place so I don't know how often we will frequent but will keep in mind for future. I recommend you give it a try.

Located in the original Edison building, this location has gone through a lot of change from being a place where individuals could pay their bills and get items repaired to multiple restaurants. The history of the building is so cool! Make sure to look up the details! Since being a restaurant, this spot has gone through 3 renovations. I can't compare to the past, but this one is cute. Definitely a girlie vibe, but lots of dudes come here too. My husband sat in the bar so we could people watch. Great location by the window (table for 2) and views of the restaurant, patio, and the outside area. We started off with a couple of cocktails. For dinner, we ordered the salmon, short ribs, and the wild mushrooms. Good flavors and portion sizes. We weren't offered a dessert menu to peak at but we saw others indulging and they are giant. Definitely Instagramable desserts! I probably would have ordered one for a few bites and a lot of pictures. We came on a Friday night. They only take reservations for 3 or more people. We had no problem getting a seat!
Everything on the menu tastes really good.
Their service was quick, friendly and easy going. We made a reservation in advance, which is recommended as the place gets busy. Its a spacious room, and gets quite loud inside when full. Some dance music was played on the background. There is a large bar in the middle of the room and tables and couches on both sides. Menu has some really good options. We had to try shrimp scampi and beef pasta for the main course. Appetizers, spicy calamari , salads and soup were brought to the table in no time. Everything was fresh and delicious. And when it comes to dessert - Baked Alaska not only delicious but is huge. I mean really huge. Everything on the dessert menu comes in large portions so be ready for that. Overall great experience and well deserved 5 stars

This restaurant is little too extra for me with all the bougie people. It's fancy though and my waiter was very proper and cute. He was great with his suggestions and my friend who invited me here was happy with her food. I got a flatbread and asked for extra cheese because im addicted to cheese and it was so good. We also both got this drink and I wish I remembered what it was called (its been a couple months) but this drink was STRONG. We both only had one drink and we honestly had to sit at the restaurant for like an hour to let it wear off. The waiter had to tell us to go lol. I'm a lightweight but not like THAT. Next time I will get a mocktail instead and the flatbread again yummmm
Food was ok, service was great, ambiance was nice.
Overrated for the priced. It was just ok.

Yes I love 220 Great place Great people Great Food and I had a great server named Bushier
Went here for Mother's Day brunch.
The staff was dressed to impress. Everyone walking by and bringing anything to the table said "Happy Mother's Day" with smiles. Everyone made you feel welcomed and special. It looked lively and bright. We had the calamari appetizer. We had the Branzino and red velvet pancakes. The pancakes looked decadent. The branzino was amazing. I also had a Paloma and sei mei they were both great. I recommend the sei mei. When I go back I will be having it again with the branzino.

The food and location were both great! Service was fast and were seated in a timely manner. Everything that I tried was delicious and the cocktails are very catching to the eye.
Really interesting place.
Front room has a large bar and was packed. We were seated in next room that was large but was 2 rooms. Our waitress was busy but good. Started with the calamari that was good and tender. Everyone was happy with their meal. Lamb chops were cooked to proper temperature. Shrimp scampi was tasty and large. Pan roasted salmon was a hit. Really nice wine list!
if in area - this is place to check out.
what a vibe - seen and be seen. great people watching. desserts are impressively huge. Bar scene happening. Crowded late night. How this suburban place attracts a crowd - reason enough to check it out. Make a reservation A tad dressy. Good for an occasion or group too.

The location and restaurant setting is nice, but it can be really loud inside. So much so that you can't hear each other speak. The food was OK- nothing special, but the real problem was the costs of the drinks. I ordered a cosmo, and while it was good, it ended up being $20 for one drink. I know they can be expensive, but I've never paid that much for one basic drink. They used the highest end vodka, without asking. So to have a meal and 2 drinks was close to $70 for one person. For lunch. My companion ordered a drink that ended up having dry ice in it (which she didn't know) and it bubbled all over her hands and the table. The waitress didn't even give her an extra napkin or offer to wipe it up. And she basically got a mouthful of dry ice.
Our 50th Anniversary
A special day. A special night. Couldn't be better. Arranged by our son and daughter. The waiter did everything, except eat our food. The wines were a delight and the steak and salmon were prepared with artistry. He guided us with each entre and the salad was shared by us with dressing aside. Wine, was by the glass and was both red and white and light, semidry and elegant. Our perfect dinner ended the perfect evening. Thank you 220 Merrill for a wonderful 50th.
Disappointing
Rushed experience. We started off great, and the appetizers were pretty good. Sadly, halfway through the starters the mains showed up… the server had no concept of pacing the experience or customer service. I guess it was thoughtful to offer to take our mains back to the kitchen to keep them warm… LOL. $39 branzino under the warmer for 15 mins would have made the brussel sprouts even more dry… Also, burger and fries were well over salted. It’s too bad, because this place used to be awesome. I highly recommend going somewhere else

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
