TenTen Austin Reviews from The Last Year
Our anniversary dinner June 2024
We ate here for our 15th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2024. We wanted something different but also sushi, and this fit the bill. We had an early reservation and sat at a table between two large workgroups. We asked if we could be moved to one of the booths, and since it was a slow night, they could accommodate us. That was very kind of the host. We got two glasses of bubbles to celebrate our anniversary, which is another kind gesture. Overall, it was a good experience. Janna was our server and she was very nice. I got the Lychee martini and enjoyed it. Our favorite Maki was the Chirashi and the Scallop. The BBQ Toro Mak was our least favorite. The Spicy Tuna Maki was too hot for me, but my husband enjoyed it. The Salmon Maki was lovely but not as great as the Chirash. Be sure to do the cucumber and not the rice wrap. We also ordered the Premium Sashimi 18 pc. It was unique flavors, but I don't know if we would order again. Not there is not valet parking. Be prepared to find a lot or street parking. Overall a nice experience for a rare night out for us. I don't think it is some place we could come regularly but would come back.

Server was rude from the get go and even worse when we sent our food back because the squash was burning hot and the steak was cold. Steak came back cold anyways the second time and decided to just deal with it. Won't be returning despite having a good experience the first time.

Great environment, good music, but a bit rushed on our visit. We had 6 at our table and celebrated a birthday ordered drinks, appetizers and finally maki, sashimi, and nigiri. The service was friendly and fast but after an hour seated and still finishing our food we were asked very kindly to leave because they had the table reserved. 20 min later no one was seated. For me although it was a great experience, I'll probably never go back because in the end you don't rush a table of 6 for a reservation that didn't exist. Quite rude.
Sad to say that Ten Ten has dropped to 3 stars for me.
We went as a party of 8 with a reservation for my sister's birthday celebration. We were immediately seated at a high top table right by the entrance. It was very loud with the hustle and bustle of the entry way, the bar directly behind us, and what I would consider, way too loud of music. There's a decibel that exceeds lively restaurant and starts tip toeing into night club and Ten Ten was definitely giving night club with its volume. Drinks took FOREVER and came with mostly ice. It was like being a thirsty kid and taking down a Caprisun in two inhales. They weren't strong, they weren't special, they were small, they took forever, and they were expensive. It's wild to me that they would set themselves up to have to make endless drinks because they're so small and then not have the capacity to make them faster. We're talking 20 minute minimum wait for almost every round. Food came much faster than drinks. We started with brussel sprouts, shishito peppers, edamame, and king crap croquettes. All of these were delicious. We followed this up with the 18 piece chef's selection of sashimi. It arrived and was plated beautifully. As our waiter began identifying the sashimi selections, he identified one as, "I can't remember what that one is. Enjoy!" We did enjoy the mystery fish but as foodies, we like to know what we're eating so we can order it again. And Ten Ten is the caliber of restaurant where I expect more knowledge from the service. None of the maki was anything to write home about. The a5 wagyu nigiri coupled with the quail egg nigiri was fantastic. The king crab leg felt like maybe it wasn't served how they originally intended. It appeared that this beautiful crustacean had been deconstructed, blended with some spices, and returned to its shell without its dignity. With an ingredient as fantastic as king crab, this was a disappointing dish. We had several other dishes from the crudo section. They were fresh and tasty. We finished it off with a few deserts, which were good. I especially liked the bread pudding! The ingredient quality is above average but maybe lacking a bit on the execution. The service was kind but did not provide adequate information or table clearing. And as previously mentioned, the bar service left us thirsty and wanting. If someone else suggests Ten Ten, I'll go, but I won't be choosing it myself.
Food: We had the following: wagyu gyoza tacos 2pc: horrible
Food: We had the following: wagyu gyoza tacos 2pc: horrible very greasy charred edamame: not good and kind of cold salmon* pickled celery: these were good 2 drinks: Mexican martini - horrible old fashion - good but missing the cherry Service: our waitress was very nice Ambiance: nice
Oh my holy God.
The A5 wagyu ribeye was out of this world. So was the toro tar tar. So was the scallop truffle roll. So was the hamachi! The service, the ambiance, everything. Hands down my new go to in Austin. I do wish there were even more menu options, especially for larger parties (like Amberjack, caviar, etc), but they make up for the narrow menu with service and the incredible sake selection.
Pretty underwhelming for the price.
Our server was very nice, but that's about the best thing I have to say. The air con was blowing straight down on our table the whole night, the brought all our food at the same time vs coursing it out, and the food was good not great. Best things were probably the Brussels sprouts and the shishitos, which considering we also got sushi and short ribs isn't a great sign. Far better sushi places in the city for equal or less cost.
Far better options in the city for the same or lower cost

The cocktails and appetizers here are amazing! I highly recommend the Chicken Karaage and tuna tataki were both incredible.
1000/10 the food was sooo delicious.
We made dinner reservations at this spot and the ambiance was intimate with dimmed lights. We ordered the tuna tacos and chicken karaage for our starters and it did not disappoint. We loved it so much we ordered second servings of each. We also had the avocado maki and the shrimp tempura maki. They were both delicious. The short ribs were perfect- tender and flavorful. We finished off with the crème brûlée. Service was lovely. We definitely were still chatting past the close time and the servers were polite and didn't push us out. If you're ever in the downtown Austin area give this spot a try :)
The HH is incredible!! My friend and I went Monday
The HH is incredible!! My friend and I went Monday afternoon for their weekly HH 4:30-6 PM! We got there as soon as they opened and were able to be seated immediately. It's beautiful and very modern inside. My friend got the cucumber mule mocktail - looked delicious and a great size. I got the lychee martini (half off during HH) and it was more clean looking but delicious flavor! We started with the chicken karaage(HH) and a toro tuna sashimi. Both delicious great options! We also got the salmon, hamachi, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll (all HH). And seems to be full size rolls around 6-8 pieces per roll!! I loved the spicy tuna and hamachi the most personally. My friend liked the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna the most. Definitely get the spicy tuna lol we also split another spicy tuna roll after all that and two pieces of the wagyu nigiri (just get it) it melted in my mouth - so smoky and delicious! We loved the HH and spent around $130 for everything!
