Like god in France
The ambiance is magnificent, especially if you can spend the night here. When the weather is nice, sit on the terrace with a beautiful view over the extensive garden. It is of course not cheap here (with 2 stars). Menus for over EUR 600 per person. We opt for the more 'modest' menu of EUR 300 p.p., but it is certainly worth it (because it also includes matching wines). The children's menu is in style (so no fish and chips, but salmon etc.). The table is very large, so it feels less intimate, but that feeling quickly disappears. Delicious appetizers and perfect service and very tasty food. The only surprise is that the espresso at the end was a weak cup of coffee, which we did not expect. That was actually the only downside. Lifting silver bowls at everyone's plate at the same time also feels like something from a bygone era, but here it actually fits.
Total change of scenery
Lunch offered by our family for our birthdays and my husband's retirement. After a little apprehension because we were not used to this type of restaurant, we were superbly welcomed from the entrance until our departure. Great change of scenery for us. We were pleasantly surprised by all the dishes served. It will remain an unforgettable experience that we hope to be able to repeat. Another big thank you to everyone.
Disappointment
We were guests of the hotel and restaurant last weekend to celebrate two important anniversaries. I would like to start by saying that we made the reservation in September 2023, when the chef of the restaurant was Philippe Mille. Only about two weeks before dinner we found out that the chef had changed effective March 1, 2024, but NO ONE even kindly informed us of the change. We therefore wrote an email to get more information on the menu that would be proposed, but they dismissed us by saying that they would send us the new menu via email a few days before our arrival. Well, NO ONE even bothered to send it to us and so we found ourselves last Saturday afternoon requesting it again from the receptionist at the hotel. This time too we were denied the opportunity to find out about the proposed dishes, diverting the conversation to a more comfortable one: "Enjoy the surprise!". But what surprise?!? For a package costing a whopping 1200 euros per couple and chosen based on conditions that have completely disappeared and changed! We are people with a great curiosity and food and wine culture. The first note I would like to make is that you don't just choose a location, but above all a chef and a way of cooking when you book a starred restaurant. So my complaint begins precisely with the way in which the change of chef was managed: an event that was certainly planned, but which was silently kept quiet. Speaking instead of what we had the opportunity to eat: a real disappointment, never in a two Michelin star restaurant have we eaten in such a banal way. No dish, no one, presented a note of originality or creativity. Just to mention a few dishes: the first course, more than a reasoned dish, resembled an assembly of ingredients which, of course, were of excellent quality (sea urchins and caviar), but an element that united them and gave a variation in the consistencies was completely missing. of the foods used. The main course: tender slices of meat, combined with a very simple cooking sauce and carrots as a side dish. The dessert deserves a separate discussion because it is truly one of the worst I have ever tried. Apple in different consistencies with a very acidic puree that was the absolute protagonist, without a truly cooked or cooked part. I find this to be a real disgrace to the excellent French pastry art! The only really good food: the bread, but even in this case not of particular varieties as usually in restaurants of this level. What I can't understand is that in the face of an unpleasant experience to say the least (all of which can be documented), in the face of such a high cost, in addition to a circumstantial "we're sorry", there was no desire to remedy it in any way , not even with a concrete gesture or thought. The last particularly unpleasant note was the embarrassing way in which they offered us the opportunity to confront the chef, who in spite of himself was taken to the reception, under the gaze of all the staff and other guests, to hear our dissatisfaction and disappointment. Never again!
IT WAS SO DESIRED BUT THE REALITY IS SURPRISING
What a joy to finally go to Les Crayères! but small downsides: we ask for a glass of champagne, the bottle was uncorked the day before because the bubbles are extremely rare! in the middle of the meal, the jackhammer or other very noisy electrical device used to renovate a room above the room started working.... blah blah! otherwise, the dishes served (sometimes without the waiter knowing what he is serving and returning to ask) are excellent, of course! a big eater will still be a little hungry given the quantities served; For our part, fortunately the coffee treats kept us calm.

perfection in excellence from small appetizers to aperitifs to dessert, we had a timeless moment where all the little details made us have an unforgettable time. I will remember this seaweed and lemon dessert for a long time. I still have tears in my eyes while writing. Congratulations to the whole team
Perfect from A to Z
A wonderful moment. We fell in love with the tartan living room which reminded us of Scotland. It would be good to offer it systematically rather than placing it in the canopy by default. The meal was wonderful, everything was perfect. A huge favorite for the langoustine tartare and the chocolate dessert.
Almost tip top
Rarely have we, possibly never, experience such a stunning dining room and silver service with a smile. The food is exemplary, notable the langoustines. There is always a but..the desserts leave something to improve. Too cold sorbet and ice cream and an undistinguished leaves and a foam. We hate foam and the cheese was foamy too. Never the less we loved it and cannot wait to go back.
Great moment
We tasted the champagne promenade menu. The different dishes are excellent. The staff takes great care in a neat and elegant setting. We had a great time. And a little attention for Madame's birthday even though my reservation was from September. Everything was perfect .

Half-hearted birthday dinner…
For my wife's birthday I wanted to please her by reserving the white truffle menu. After entering, the scallops arrive and there's a tragedy: the staff forgets to come and grate our truffles. The chef still noticed at one point that there was no truffle and my wife, who eats more slowly than me, was still able to enjoy the dish after it was added, but for my part there was only one bite left. …. It’s true that we were surprised not to have any truffle strips. Errors can happen but they should not be reproduced with a menu at this price in a 2-star establishment. On the other hand, on the sweetbreads it deeply irritated me, a second forgetting of the famous mushroom... How can we have such inattentive service... How to ruin an evening that should have been perfect with dishes that were as good as they tasted. Despite the apologies and a 20% discount on the menus, the damage was done.

Fabulous Lunch

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
