If I could give 15 stars, I would. One of the most amazing food experiences of my life.
If you combined a symphony, a ballet and the most exceptional culinary experience of your life, you would be at Oro. At the recommendation of my friend who visits Rio every year, I booked a dinner at Oro. And, I am SO happy I did. From the first welcome by the doorman, to the hostesses, to the service, every interaction with the team was amazing. Everyone seems genuinely interested that you have a wonderful experience. And, the food ... delicious, sublime, beautiful, feast for the eyes and the palate. I can't say enough about it. From my table, I was able to see the first floor kitchen. It was almost like watching artists paint a mural. And, after you're done with the set menu, you can order anything else that you've had before. Save room for dessert, since the Everything Coconut was the perfect way to end an amazing dinner. I even received a box of handmade Brigadeiros to take home. The evening was so amazing, I didn't want to leave. While the dinner was a bit pricey, it would be two or three times more if this were in the U.S., Europe or Japan. I will be back on every trip to Rio. Thank you to the entire Oro team for such an amazing evening.

The service is impeccable. The cuisine is elevated and unique. Definite must come to win in Rio.
Great food and atmosphere
Oro has the feel of a friendly neighborhood restaurant yet it serves up an amazing gourmet tasting menu. It was better than a much higher priced tasting menu we had at another Rio restaurant. The staff was fun and friendly.

Interesting menu and beautifully presented dishes, but the portions could be bigger. The service was attentive, but the wait was a bit long. Overall, a good experience, but there’s room for improvement.
Good as a Michelin 1 star, bad as a 2 star
We returned to see if things have changed since covid, and while there were some great dishes, my comment about this being a 1 star Michelin still stands. The good: everything on the "starters" which were a collection of interesting and very tasty snacks, with the highlight being the "burger" with kimchi. Just fabulous. We also loved the wine pairing which was a nice way to discover some great local or eclectic wines. The not so good: the main dishes were all good but a bit bland. For example, corn on white fish is not going to be very flavorful. Everything was cooked well but nothing stood out. The bad: while the service was very good, for a 2 star Michelin, there were some bad misses. For example, the beef and fish dishes were overcooked and we didn't eat most of it but the waiter seemed obviously that something was wrong despite us making comments about it. Our dessert was very late and it appeared to have been given to the table nearby by mistake. Again, no acknowledgement about delays or even awareness ot happened. Overall, this was very good but absolutely does not deserve a Michelin 2 star. But as a 1 star, it would be considered great

The service was extremely attentive but not overwhelming. They asked if we preferred service in English or Portuguese which to us didn't matter as we are bilingual but I thought it was a nice touch. They were able to customize the tasting menu to not only my gluten free allergy but the fact that I am pregnant and cannot have raw fish or meat and certain cheeses. At the end of the meal the chef checked in on us, chatted a bit and gave us chocolates to take home, which was a great way to finish an already amazing meal.
Such a great dining experience in Rio.
I wanted to try Michelin dining in Brazil and whilst there are no 3 star restaurants in Brazil, there are three 2 star restaurants located in Rio. Oro was top of my list to try because its Brazilian food inspired gastronomy. Simple yet modern decor in a very intimate restaurant. There were only around 4-5 tables on the first floor. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time online to reserve your spot. They have an option where you can sit in front of the chef that's preparing your meal and we chose that option. The menu is quite self explanatory. There's 11 different appetizers to start. Then you choose from either a 2 or a 4 main course meal. We chose a 4 course meal to get a more comprehensive experience of the restaurant. Service is wonderful. They are so attentive to every detail and made the dining experience so special. My favorite from the appetizers were definitely oyster and guava, shrimp and chayote mochi. Note that I absolutely hate raw oysters but the way they combined with oyster with the guava the taste was definitely tamed. You can taste how fresh the oysters were and the texture was to die for. The shrimp mochi was SO good. Al's it tasted like a dumpling. Special from the chef, he actually asked us if we wanted seconds of any appetizers and I chose the mochi immediately. My favorite of the main dishes were the fish of the day with corn and the Brazilian beef. The fish with corn is so flavorful and the broth is so delicious that I did not leave one drop in the bowl. Beef is so tender, melt in your mouth and it's so flavorful. Honestly all of the main courses were delicious but the fish and the beef were definitely the most memorable. You can choose 2 out of the 3 desserts but once again the chef gave us all 3 desserts to try. I loved the caja fruit and almond cake dessert the most. A little tart, not too sweet nor overpowering. They gave us a truffle dessert box to take home afterwards as well after the dinner. Oh! Definitely get the wine pairing, well worth the money and it pairs so well with the meal. Literally no complaints from my standpoint. One of the best Michelin meals I've had hands down. Definitely make it a point to stop here on your Rio vacation.

We had an extremely pleasant dinner. From snacks to dessert, we have nothing but praise. Everything is very well done, and with flavors that surprise us. We also highlight the attention and excellent service, especially the team of chef Guilherme, chef Mitchel and manager Luana.

Mich mich the best restaurant in Brazil
For me, the best restaurant in Brazil - and I've pretty much worked through the OAD list... Excellent menu composition, great drinks, impeccable service, dishes that look and taste great. In my opinion, they could also have three Michelin stars. The only disadvantage: it's quite loud in the restaurant. If I were the owner, I would think about installing soundproofing elements.

I wanted to go again, but the mega sena didn't choose me (yet)
I've never been to such a beautiful restaurant and I've never been served as well as at Oro, each dish and each flavor was a truly delicious experience, we can't predict what the flavor will be just by looking at the dish, but they were all very good, definitely high Gastronomy is an experience worth every penny. I won't be back, it was a privilege to be able to afford one night, but it's really too expensive for my pocket (when I win the mega sena, I'll go every night hahaha), anyway, I loved the experience. Some points that in my opinion were not so cool is that the pairing with the wines x the amount of food being small made the alcohol level much higher and then the information explained was lost in the process lol And I know that a lot of people leave satisfied, but I think I had too many expectations about eating several small dishes and thought I would leave satisfied, but that didn't happen. I was hungry lol I wish I could have at least repeated the moti or the oyster, which were divine! And that. Thank you Oro, you were great.

Michelin stars experience
the food was very good, mostly the main courses and deserts, amazing. they were very nice to offer a cake with a sparkling firework for my wife’s birthday. what they need to pay attention to is at the details: they did not have wi-fi working and for a foreigner that was an inconvenience. the bathrooms are not looking 5 stars. wine paring should come with a glass of wine for each dish, but it did not - wasn’t such an inconvenience but the price is high for the amount of wine served

Disappointing experience, considering this is a 2 stars Michelin restaurant. The food was okay. Some items of the menu were very salty. Some of us did not eat all the served meals due to that. We were a group of 3 couples, and they seated us upstairs. First observation was that the chairs for the bar (front view from where I was seated) were peeling/scratched (there is a picture from another review here where you can see that) and the door for the kitchen was always half open. Not close to a Michelin restaurant standard. We order the "afetividade" with wine pairing. One of the couples are from Hungary and own a winery in WA. Naturally we asked to meet the sommelier Cecilia Aldaz while we were there. I asked for her since the first wine was served. They gave me excuses and later told me that she "left" for the evening. Staff also informed that the chef is actually not at the restaurant and lives in Sao Paulo. It was nice having a waiter that was fluent in English. The staff was nice and polite, but not able to offer insights on the pairing on culinary. Wonder if they will keep the stars for much longer.

Worst experience since long time. Booked in advanced several weeks ago. Confirmed via email my reservation and called directly the restaurant to share some food restriction. Asked if the reservation could move to 7.30pm instead of 7pm and everything was confirmed. Received an email and I clicked to confirm again my reservation. Arrived to the restaurant and I was informed that my reservation was canceled because I did not confirm. It was embarrasing and the worst part is that they did not try to resolve the problems and understand that the system and their process was horrible and not friendly.

AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Oro Leblon. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.
Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience
the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.
If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Oro Leblon at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Oro Leblon page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* BraveCloth47, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* BraveCloth47 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to BraveCloth47 for any questions Peter may have as BraveCloth47 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* BraveCloth47 now uses their connections at Oro Leblon to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If BraveCloth47 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, BraveCloth47 receives the $200 reward which is credited to BraveCloth47's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Oro Leblon!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
