Great place to eat in Bloomington.
Crowded and very load, but the food was tasty. Make sure you have reservations

So...most people in Bloomington love this place, but I think it sucks. I hate that we bring visitors here because it looks like we're a bunch of unsophisticated hillbillies. Plastic table clothes, plastic salad bowls, tables crammed together. It
Food was delicious.
Reservations recommended Salad and homemade dressing are wonderful and baked potato seasoned well. Definitely try the meatballs. They are spicy but well worth it.

My heart hurts writing this, as I've been a customer for decades. My last two visits have been less than I've known over the years. First off, don't bother making a reservation, as I've had to wait 45 and 20 minutes longer than th
First of all, rumor has it that when Indiana became a state
First of all, rumor has it that when Indiana became a state in 1816, the founding fathers of Bloomington signed the statehood papers on a slab of ribeye as thick as a limestone brick. Naturally, Janko's must have been the caterer. I mean, how
Good steak and wine
You go here for the steak and it's fantastic. Just ignore everything else on the menu, except the meatballs -- you should get a plate to share as an appetizer. Locally popular. Good service, jovial atmosphere. No white table cloths and snooty wa
Excellent service and food
Food was outstanding! The service was also wonderful. From the bread to the wine to the steak, all was great! The only downside is price as most entrees were higher than expected.

You don't go here for the ambience, the tables are so close together. It's inevitable conversation has challenges. Now onto the food. You won't find a better steak in Bloomington. The service is quick to the point of almost feeling rus
Great steaks, poor ambiance which to enjoy.
The steaks and service were both very good, I regret not insisting on seating other than the kid’s table next to Soda fountain/wine cabinet. It was quite claustrophobic for 4 medium size folks to enjoy a large meal. Does someone enjoy music that l
Good experience even during Graduation Weekend!
Booked this for an 8 person graduation dinner. We did have to wait about 20 minutes after having a reservation, but for Commencement weekend in Bloomington, we were happy to wait. The wait staff was attentive and kind, upbeat, and we had no issues
Not wheelchair accessible.
The ramp is too narrow and unusae because the door is locked by a table. The bathroom door is too narrow for a wheelchair to fit through and there are no accessible toilet stalls.
Not wheelchair accessible
45 minute wait even with a reservation.not wheelchair accessible no accessible bathroom. Food was meh. Steak was well seasoned but tough.

The food is very good! The service in my experience seemed rushed and 1 of the 2 times was a bit rude. The ambiance is alright... when you go it's not as much of fancy as it is historical. I think it's worth a try but isn't one of my f
We were a party of four.
I had the ribeye, two had the filet and one had the ribs. All were amazing and cooked exactly how we ordered them. The meatballs for an appetizer were nice and spicy and tasted great. The dinner rolls were very good and the soup and salad were very g
Be careful.
House glass of wine... $19. Want blue cheese dressing, +$2 more for a "salad" which is mostly just lettuce. The environment is rugged, and not comfortable. The steaks are pretty good, but charging Las Vegas prices for a Motel 6 experie
I’m confused- is the TGIF for $100 a head???
What a categoric failure of a restaurant. We’re from the NY Metro area, so we were optimistic about the experience based on the prices. YUCK!!! First of all, we love spending money on great memories and the only thing our son remembers is that he
Cooked to Perfection
Ate dinner here during my first-ever visit to Bloomington and it definitely felt like we were eating at an institution. Excellent steak at a reasonable price for the quality of the meat. (Steaks would be $20 more on Minneapolis where we live). I aske
Rude Waitress - Bye Felicia!
A waitress (if you want to call her that) named Alexis managed to wipe out years of great Food and wonderful times in a single night. I have been coming here for years, have referred many people to this place - but all good things I guess have to end
Overrated
I have been to Janko’s on multiple occasions because my family enjoys it. Tonight, we went for a family birthday dinner and was so disappointed in the food and service! I felt very rushed, once we finally got our server to the table, 15 minutes aft
Straight-up really good food and service
This is a no-nonsense great steakhouse. No fancy-pants stuff. Just good food around good people. My daughter had the Gypsy Steak kabob, and my wife and I shared the 20oz Ribeye. Sides were great, the steak was superb. Beer and wine were also pretty g
