Good Food Good Service But HORRIBLE seating system Flew in from Vegas for son's graduation. Houston's won't take reservations for groups over 4. We were 5. Had to wait over an hour plus and then were seated at a table for 4. We were squashed for not an inexpensive meal! Watched host/hostess Seat parties of 3 & 4 at tables for 5 plus. Worked in the restaurant business for many years. Have never see such idiotic seating logic. Was told by mgr on the phone that when I couldn't make reservations we could wait at bar, but bar was set up for dining, not order drinks More stupidity!! Will never return. This restaurant should be 100% limited to parties of 4 and under!!!!
Food is regular but comes with a higher price.
Can keep the price, but the flavor needs to improve, I mean it was nothing extraordinary. Service, is good, but the dressing code made me remove my cap, what is really unnecessary for that kind of restaurant.

We went to celebrate my Son in laws birthday at Houston's. We had our reservation for over a week. We come for the ribs , but no ribs and then we ordered pork . No pork. Very disappointed!! If you know ahead of time how many people are coming , because they have a reservation. You should be able to plan ahead. All I had was a Baked potato cold in spots. Our bill was over $ 300 dollars. I want to say I was not happy. At the time I didn't say anything thing it wasn't the waitress's fault . And I didn't want to ruin my son in-laws birthday. I just want to say Houston BAD JOB!!

We used to eat here all the times, either with family or staff from the office, but haven't been back in a while. Came in tonight and were so disappointed. Menu is limited. For grilled chicken salad, I asked if they can put the dressing on the side, waiter said no since it's already all mixed in. So are they serving all premade salad instead of freshly made? So trying to pick the kale salad per his suggestion, as I can get the dressing on the side. However, I do not like rotisserie chicken. Asked if I can get salmon as protein instead. He said no. How about another salad, can I do salmon instead, as I just had chicken twice yesterday and chicken again at lunch today. He said no again. So disappointed as I have always been able to swap out the protein from the entree salad everywhere else, we decided not to order anything else other than our meal. I ended up ordering the regular salmon entree. So it came with this super rich mashed potatoes, which was not listed out on the menu. As we were waiting for the foods and eating, I was watching my YouTube jewelry show. The phone was laying flat in the inside corner of our table, behind the partition divider, so no one can see it other than myself and/or the bus boy & the waiter. The manager came to our table and told me I was not supposed to be on the cell phone since it's disturbing others. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't even loud. My husband, who sat right in front of me couldn't even hear a thing since the restaurant was super noisy and people are loud! I later asked the couple who sat next to us if they heard anything from my visual show, they said they couldn't hear a thing. And the few tables around us were talking loudly and laughing out loud non-stop! We ate quickly and left. Service wasn't great & the manager was rude, we decided to leave 15% tip only, which was much lower than what we would normally tip. The salmon was good, as well as the burger, so hence the 2-Star. Mashed potatoes was super rich and full of butter. No for me. We have dined at all other restaurants from the Hillstone Restaurant Group, Bandera, Gulfstream, R&D Fashion Island, Houston's Boca Raton (numerous times), etc. and had never been treated or seen anything like that. Needless to say, we will not return and will let our family, friends, coworkers know.

I am very sorry to discover that Houston's restaurant has reinstate not accepting cash. I had previously commented on this issue and the policy was changed. The decision to not accept cash, as a matter of principle, is unacceptable to us. It is very un-American to not accept and turn away a currency that symbolizes freedom and the American dream from those who are born here, those who emigrate here, and all those around the world that sees us as a beacon of freedom. Not accepting cash also demonstrates a high level of arrogance and discrimination, effectively, you are stating that a certain type of clientele or class are excluded from purchasing a meal. You are stating that don't imagine eating here if you earned your money in cash form and were unable to convert it to our "preferred" currency. Many businesses in California were sued over similar discriminatory practices, in fact San Francsico passed a law forbidding the non-acceptance of cash. Your policy is a clear warning to us that you have chosen to participate in some form of elitism instead of supporting independence and freedom.

I sat at bar and made it very clear I was ordering food to go. At no time was I told until I ordered an hour later, that certain items were not available to go? I ordered the ribs that comes with fries and slaw but I was forced to sub fries for beans because fries aren't available to go?? Huh?? I ended up ordering fries for there than taking them to go! I ordered cheese bread for $7 bucks and go two mini slices of bread . Then I tried paying cash and she said they were not accepting cash that day, again none of this was mentioned when I sat down. After spending 75 bucks for my food and the way I had to order it. Not worth it at all
Food was excellent.
The 4 of us had cocktails, wine, salads, entrees, desserts and coffee. We were enjoying the food and talking with our friends. At 2.5 hours, Ben the manager said they needed our table and asked us to leave. First time that ever happened to us or our friends. They need to inform their guests before hand that there is a time limit on their tables. It felt awful to be treated like this and we won't go back. So much for fine dining.

The only reason I need to add a review for Houston's to all the ones they already have is maybe to assure people that it's still the same consistent, good food and service. My husband wanted to take me there for an early Mother's Day dinner on Friday. That's usually our staple of a date night (which is like once a year kid-free), but I was wondering if we should try something different. I started reading recent reviews and I was really surprised at all the poor ratings. A lot of people complained about the lack of grilled artichokes (they took it off the regular menu), and a lot of negativity about the bad service. Well, we ended up going just because we always get the same thing and it's rarely a bad meal (except for the two times they kept insisting my husband's strip steak was a rib eye - didn't look anything like one or taste like one). Hubs made reservations online and we showed up about 20 minutes before it. It's nice because now Houston's marks off their parking lot specifically for Houston's, because that parking lot in that plaza is a nightmare and is really a deterrent. I don't know how they're enforcing it, but it works because we had no problem finding a spot. Anyway, we saw two seats right at the bar and it used to be first come, first serve there, but the bartender told us to go check in at the hostess stand, so not sure what that meant, but we got seated there. Our bartender/server was a woman with long blonde hair and on our check it said "Ty H." but I'm not sure if that was her or not. Regardless, she was amazing and so nice. Sitting at the bar is for sure the win. We were eating by the time our real reservation would've been and the bartenders were all really attentive - our water glasses were never empty. I got the Hawaiian ribeye and he got the prime rib dip and both were delicious. They did have grilled artichoke that night, but we got the always-amazing spinach and artichoke dip instead and she even asked if we wanted more chips when we were getting low - yes, please! We were in and out in less than an hour, we were not rushed, but that was great for us. We saw the bartender address the regulars at the bar and she was so nice to everyone. We had a great time - thanks Houston's for staying great and for making parking easier!!

The service manager (white shirt) had the audacity to come to my table after spending $300 + on dinner to tell me to get off my phone. I believe his name stars with the letter N. I highly recommend you train your staff to be more accommodating towards your paying customers instead of harassing them. This is not a Michelin star restaurant it's damn near bar food. Relax.

Another favorite of mine!! I think Houston's has the best menu offering out of all the Hillstone restaurants. I love the vibe, the food and the service is always great. I love their sushi, soup, the grilled cheese bread is amazing!! $25 corkage fee if you want to bring your own wine. Plenty of parking and easy access right off the freeway.
We had a very enjoyable meal.
Warnings though, we got there at 4:20 and there was still a wait. Not long but got really crowded. Service was FAST, friendly and attentive. We 're two "mature couples" and have no need to rush. Our server understood this and reassured us it was fine ( we had already ordered after dinner drinks and a dessert and were still fine in under an hour (ha). The restaurant was spotless and lively. We enjoyed the evening.

Not as good as other locations in the same family such as Cherry Creek grill, Red Rocks grill, Hillstone or the Houston's in Scottsdale. The menu combinations are mediocre at best and the hostess was a bit snooty for a 4pm walk in lunch and was adamant my elderly father take off his hat. Typically the dress code here is a suggestion not mandatory and we have never ever had an issue at any other location over the years. The food was okay and the service was fine once we sat down but this particular location seems to lack the friendliness and well prepared nature of its other restaurant counterparts. I live across the street and I can say it's not even worth the walk over anymore. There's better options, even in the same parking lot

Came with au jus for dipping and horseradish. I was craving this sandwich for months. I tried another highly recommended place from Yelp and it didn't even live up to the hype, made me wish I went back to Houston's. French fries were also good! I'd love to come back for dinner but parking might be tough. This plaza is always crowded.

Terrible customer service
Family of 7 went to have dinner as we always did before. They refused to give us a booth which may be understandable but even they didn’t want to accommodate with 2 split tables. Their excuse is that they are a “cozy restaurant “. What a disappointment in business model . So what’s the message here ? No families? Being rude and indifferent!!Never had this experience in any other place…

Took my daughter for her birthday. Ordered something called the "Hawaiian Steak," was served the worst piece of meat I have ever been served anywhere, including the cheapest steak-joint. Half fat and gristle. Ruined the occasion. I will never go back.
Surprised by the amazing taste
My husband and I dined in Huston’s tonight and we are pleasantly surprised by the amazing taste of our dinner. We had Caesar salad, grilled trout and pork chop and side of black bean and rice. The mixture of Asian touch in American food was amazing experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope others enjoy as much as we did.
Poor management
Manager was racist and discriminated against me because I didn't fit the crowd. Was asked for ID in order to have a meal. Nobody else in the restaurant was asked to produce an ID to eat there. Shameful.

No longer a fan! We went to Houston's for dinner and lost a $10K+ Tennis Bracelet. When we realized we had lost the bracelet we retraced our steps. Almost the entire evening was the 2.0 hours sitting in a booth at Houston's. A waiter nicely opened the booth and looked. However, it was full of 2 inch wood chips that could have concealed the bracelet. We were not able to remove the wood chips while the restaurant was open. I was told to come back around 10:30pm after the 10:00pm closing, so that we could look more thoroughly. However, when I arrived. The manager (I think Derrick) was only interested in kicking me out of the restaurant. He initially did not even worry which table. He assured me he would look and would get back to me. I emphasized how important this was (it was an anniversary gift from 30+ years ago). I'm supposed to have full trust, however they could not trust me to be there while they looked, if only to make sure the search was thorough and for peace of mind. No exceptions. However, I never received any call. No idea if anyone checked, how thoroughly the booth was checked and if the bracelet was found or not. A call saying that they removed the chips, looked beside and behind the booth, ..., would have gone a long way. But nothing. Only excuses later from managers that said they were not there and excused it all off. I would like to know how they would react, if it was their or another family member's treasured piece of jewelry. This was handled so poorly that family and friends are no longer interested in going to Houston's.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
