Had a dinner date at Blue Agave last night and made reservations in advance. They were not overly busy so we could have walked in with no wait. The outdoor seating ambiance is nice and hummingbirds were a fun addition to the setting. We ordered drinks and was promptly provided with chips and two salsas. We placed our order - husband ordered steak and I ordered the bowl with shrimp. When our meal was brought out, my bowl had steak, so I had to send it back. This meant our timing was off on eating tougher since I had to wait for my meal to be remade. My husband liked his steak and my shrimp bowl was ok. Overall we had a nice experience but not the wow factor to convince us to come back again.

I heard great things about this place and my daughter just moved to Pleasanton so I made a reservation to eat here for Easter. Upon arrival I learned there was a prix fixe menu which was essentially a buffet. Our reservation was for 2 PM and after we were seated we were clued in that they were shutting the place down as we were being seated. We thought we should go but the servers showed us the buffet and encouraged us to grab a plate and eat. This buffet was HORRIBLE. Cold pancakes, sausage that was cold to the touch, several bins of food empty or missing. It was the worst buffet ever! Like the free buffet at the local Holiday Inn Express would blow this thing away. When I got the bill they charged us $45 per person which is straight up robbery. We wanted to still enjoy our Easter brunch and attempted to have a conversation at the table while we sipped our drinks but the servers kept grabbing our plates and cups and clearly wanted us out of there. So we arrived at 2PM for our 2PM reservation and were out of there by 3PM and down close to $300. My advice would be to not go to the place as they don't seem to be aware of the product they are serving and open appointments for time slots that they don't care to serve warm food in.

The staff is keeping this place going; because I'm certain it's not the food. After years of passing this place by we finally gave it a try..... we should have passed it by another 7+ years. We ordered the two "highlighted" food items. One voted best by Diablo magazine... whoever did that rating must have had covid because ain't no way that they tasted that and published it as one of the best. If you like paying a ridiculous amount for lack luster food, if you have no taste buds, this is your place. The drinks. We ordered two different drinks and for what you're going to pay.... hard pass. Overall if you value your hard earned money; Spend it elsewhere. We left and went to another establishment just to not end date night with a bad taste in our mouth.... literally.

Flavor beyond belief I spent 9 years selling software in Mexico city and throughout the country! The mole us really intense and flavorful and we had ceviche and seafood enchiladas which were the most flavorful I have ever had! The sauce on the enchiladas was tremendously flavorful but both entrees were very small for $30 a plate! The ceviche was way too sweet but flavorful. I would give this place 5 stars but the experience was cramped on a small table no bueno. Employees were not very friendly and never even asked us if the food was ok? I spent $54 for a small chicken mole and two magaritas? Hello and they never asked me if I wanted tortillas corn or wheat hello if your charging that much associate it with similar waiters who are professional.

Successful Fall Wedding We decided to check out Blue Agave as a potential wedding venue. Julio was our contact and the manager of Blue Agave Restaurant. He was wonderful in his flexibility and guidance on how to successfully execute a wedding celebration, reviewing details and offering options for a smooth celebration. He met with us several times to answer our questions and address any concerns. As much as you plan every detail, mother nature throws you a punch. After all the outdoor planning, the weather did not want to cooperate. The possibility of rain, on our wedding day, was almost certain. Julio provided a contact, Gerardo Cancino of Canopies and Tents Rentals, to deliver and install a tent to fit our event. They did an excellent job of setting up, having the venue ready in a short amount of time. Julio's staff was professional and helpful with all requests and the food and drinks were delicious. Thank you !

I had my Fall wedding here at Blue Agave Club--and despite the unexpected rain, Julio and his team made sure that our event was special and ran smoothly. The pre planning of our wedding was stressful, as any wedding is, and Julio was such a pleasure to work with, making time for my mother and I (the wedding planners), answer all the questions we had, while keeping a calm, collected and professional presence that really made the experience, working with him, such a pleasure. I recommend Blue Agave Club for events of al kinds, Julio is a gem and is crew are on the ball, not to mention the delicious food and mojitos!

I used to love this place! I have taken my daughter and my husband for their birthdays a few years back - we loved it! I will confess, I haven't been here in a year or so. We went today for lunch where I had convince my friends that the place was good. The food is unreasonably expensive and the service was extremely slow. But really what made it a bad experience was the waiter - he was eyeing us as soon as we got our food to hurry up and leave. He wanted us to close our check, and he wanted us to leave so they could close the place between lunch and dinner. We got there at 1:30 and they were shooing us out before 2:30. Again, the food was really expensive and not that great. Edible but you could do better. Saving grace were the drinks. We will not be coming back. I think Blue Agave had its day - but time to move on! Good job bartender - bad job waiter and cook. Maybe they should just be a bar :)

The Shrimp Alex is life changing (if you can handle heat and layers of flavor). This restaurant is truly exceptional, I've never had a bad time here and never had a bad dish. Try the tortilla soup. Try the Enjococado. Try the seafood burrito, the Plato huitzilopoxtli. The servers especially David are incredible and the atmosphere is delightful. Alejandro thank you! Much love

Not so great service
Here's the positive: The food was decent. We ordered a pork burrito and a beef burrito as well as a beef nachos. Here's why it received a one star instead of a 3 star: the service was horrible and subpar. Note: If I paid the bill, I would have left a 3% tip. I usually start tips at 20% and either reduce or increase from there depending on the level of service provided. And in case you are wondering, I have tipped 30% before at other restaurants and given 5 stars where they go above and beyond in providing service. We had our pooch with us so we asked for outdoor seating. We were told to sit by the side of the wall even though there was plenty of seating in the middle sections where there were plenty of heaters. No problem - I get it... maybe it's because I have my dog with me. We sit and there's one tiny heater between two tables... our table and the table behind us. We had three people, so two on one side and one on another side. It was really cold for the person on the side furthest from the heater. We asked for another heater since there were plenty of unused ones. We asked three different people because everyone would say "sure no problem" and no one ever brought back a heater. We finally asked our waitress and she reluctantly said "the busboys said there are no available heaters... and in order to move the available heaters from the middle section, they would need to move all the tables and chairs and there is one table of 4 that still had people in it for the closest heater". That was a lie because there was plenty of room in the aisle to roll the heater out without disrupting the current table that was seated near the closest heater to us. That would have been 5% off right there if I paid. We didn't want to make a fuss because it was evident that they weren't going to move it given glances we received and the smirks (yes they were actually smirking!) on the faces of the busboys. Our waitress suggested that the person furthest away from the heater sit at the end of the table to be warmer. We did that because it was truly cold however when the food came, it created a crowded situation for the two people. This to me should have been another 5% off the tip. 20 minutes after our food was delivered, the waitress came by to ask if we needed boxes? I was like seriously? We were all still eating so we said ... still working on it. I am not kidding when I say this... she came back every 5 minutes to ask if we needed boxes. That happened a total of 4 times before one of us said ... you obviously are going to come back and keep asking - just take away the dishes. That to me, that should have been another 5% off. In the midst of all this, never did anyone come by and ask if we needed more water and no one offered my dog water. That's another 2% off. If I had been the one paying the bill, I would have left a 3% tip because it was the most awful service I've ever experienced. Tips are meant to reflect the level of service received. As with anything, if there's no satisfactory performance, the compensation should reflect that as well. Showing up doesn't count. Gotta work for the $$. The 3% is for taking our order and bringing out the dishes. Give this post a thumbs up if you agree. We all work hard for our money. Why should we be required to pay for subpar?. If it's great service... we should pay up because great service is not a given... hard work happens to provide service that is over and above the bare minimum required. In the same vein, if the output is subpar, then the tip should be accordingly subpar hopefully to encourage improvement. Anyways, suffice to say, we do not plan on going back and we definitely will share our experiences with everyone we know in town.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
