Wildflower Perth Reviews from The Last Year
Good experience
We expected a lot from this establishment given the excellent reviews we found. While food was well presented and overall taste of the pre set menu was well balanced; for us, it was not outstanding. Front desk service I think could be improved as it took us quite sometime and a help from a wait staff to locate the reception staff to get our coat from the cloak room when we were leaving.
Excellent quality, pricey and trendy restaurant
We went to Wildflower on the hotel concierge's recommendation. She said it was the trendiest and best restaurant in Perth and, as far as we can tell, she was right. The food and service was top flight and the views of the city (from the fourth floor location) were great. This restaurant provides a fixed degustation menu with beverage pairings. The food was outstanding (varied and interesting, with local ingredients). The beverages were innovative but some of them were mediocre while others were top flight. This is a high priced restaurant but we would go back without hesitation.
Excellent good value meal
Brought here by friends who are locals in Perth. Saw many reviews of this being THE fine dining restaurant in Perth and so glad I came. Every dish was good and the portions were very reasonable - after the full 8 course I was tremendously stuffed. The husband favorite was the duck while mine was the macadamia custard dessert. They served an excellent cheese platter at the end but as we took the 830pm seating, I felt it was rushed at the end, when they took away half the plate of cheese before we could finished. Overall, as compared to SG fine dining meals and the price, I felt the meal had good value and would highly recommend.
Company feedback needs seeing to
It would be a good idea to see what the proprietor has to say in regards to the negative feedback back. Currently awaiting my booking in August 2024 and have seen that it is highly rated. It would be a good idea guys to respond to negative feedback and offer a solution. It is making me me not want to visit your restaurant. I understand that it’s only an opinion but none the less you should respond to these with an explanation of your believe to be the best in Perth. Thankyou. Stephen.
A lovely but pricey degustation
We found the food and service at this lovely restaurant at Como Treasury very good. The food was fresh and flavoursome. The first sheeps curd dish was a little bland but overall the deugstation menu (6 or 8 courses) was well balanced. The service was good and a nice ambience. There is no option but degustation and it's not cheap.
Extremely overrated
Extremely overrated, food good , original and a passion for fine details, full stop. Service: rushed, rude, ininteligible, obtrusive and poor. Prices: Over the top, not worth it, one slice of bread in one of the dishes, seriously?? not two at least to justify the price? VIew: the only thing worth it Wine by the glass, about 2ml in a wine glass, preposterous for the prices wine should be included!!!!!!
Service and quality has slipped.
I’ve visited Wildflower several times, the first being October 2022 and it was outstanding. Great food, great service and good value for money (6 course $165pp) and for the FLOW lunch special in 2023 which was also fantastic. I visited with my wife and a friend for a special birthday dinner. We opted for the 6 course $185pp since we had a great experience with this menu last time. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the mark. The fish course was chewy and lacked seasoning, the duck course was good but two thin slivers of duck and half a summer squash (which we were told was a Brussel sprout) is hardly substantial for a main course, the Marron on top of a slice of brioche was dry and we weren’t sure if it was meant to be cold or not which was a reoccurring theme throughout the menu as the main dishes all came out lukewarm. As someone who appreciates and understands that quality comes at a cost, I would say that this was absolutely not worth the almost $800 bill at the end.
Overrated
We were greatly looking forward to this dinner in Perth, all the more so because so many locals had told us this was one of the best restaurants in Australia. (It has three hats.) It was … between okay and good. Some of the items on the tasting menu were outstanding, while others were extremely mid. We paid over $600 for the two of us, and it was not worth it. It may have three hats, but it would not even be close to a Michelin star. Not bad, but it did not live up to the hype.
Extremely disappointed
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Wildflower last night, the supposed best restaurant in Perth, Western Australia. I had planned a special day with my beloved wife and our son and his partner, but unfortunately, my wife had an allergic reaction and couldn't join us. I requested a simple credit for her portion of the payment, or at least for it to be applied to the drinks of the night, but the floor manager, Dan, rejected this request. I was truly disgusted by his response.
Worst Fine Dining I have ever experienced. Terrible Experience!
Went here for my birthday with the Wife having travelled from Sydney. We had heard good things about this place so we're looking forward to it. When they finally seated us it took them 30 minutes to even take our drinks orders, let alone food. Finally got some table water after 40 minutes just sat there! The food took ages to arrive, it really was not that busy and the starters etc are all pre prepared FGS! The starters were good when they arrived, but the food just went down hill from there! The main course meat was too salty, tough and non edible, we both left our mains! Staff did not seem to care either way! Then a table of 15 drunk women behind us just seemed to get beyond drunk, were shouting and totally raucous. So noisy it was unbearable and we were unable to even hear each other at the table. I asked the staff if they could ask them to keep it down a bit and respect the other diners and they did nothing. Just asked us to move our table to a different area, whilst the drunks carried on causing havoc. Other couples were also noticeably unamused at this drunken carry on! I asked to talk to the manager who seemed to not give a care in the world! So we just decided to pay the bill and left! I have experienced fine dining all over the world and this was literally the worst service and food I have ever experienced anywhere!!!
Disappointed
Staff not very welcoming, seated after confiscating a bottle of water and a sun hat we needed in 41 degree heat to walk from apartment after a flight from UK. We dressed appropriately for said posh restaurant. Strict dress code apparently . Seated admiring view then as diners appeared a rather shabby curtain came , with no warning across gallery window this was 6pm. The sun by this time was at back of the building and place was air conditioned Food served , taster menu, it was very good as promised. Still no view just curtains locking us all in the room. But claustrophobic- staff not friendly or chatty - bill paid, good to get outside and breath the balmy Perth air. Confusion on departing as to where the forbidden to wear in restaurant hat was, finally bar man located it, the bottle water obviously thrown out. Yes food was picture on plate and delicious but the dining out in Perth experience with views overlooking Swan River was not!
New Year’s Eve (carrotgate )
Dined here for NY eve. service and venue was excellent . However vegetarian option ( instead of wagu beef or pork ) for main course was really very poor . Glazed carrots with shredded carrot and an tasteless condiment sauce , so disappointing . A top restaurant should show more thought and imagination in offering a course such as this . Other 5 courses where ok but main tainted the whole experience considering the price . Go to post or petition instead .
