I had an absolutely lovely deep tissue massage from Freddy.
The spa is so relaxing and Freddy is such a great masseuse. I would highly recommend it to anyone. And with the travelzoo deal, it was totally worth it. I will be coming back. I might even splurge for a 90-minute next time!

On top of all things "iconic" the four seasons has to offer, you know exquisite food, delightful service, immaculate rooms - they also have FREDDIE at the spa. This encounter with the most amazing therapist really changed my way of looking at spa services. He has an incredible understanding of the human body and listens to the clients requests. He found all the spots that needed attention with the perfect amount of strength to still be able to have an enjoyable session without being in full pain. His hands never left my body, well, only once to alert front desk of my request to extend the service from 60 to 90 minutes. His style is pressure points, he presses into those knots until they vanish. So delighted with my experience today! Time for a steam! Thank you Freddie! You rock brotha!
Be the first to ReplyHad an amazing massage here.
Arrived early to use the facilities. The men's locker room was clean. They have a good sized steam room which I enjoyed using. No sauna. I was surprised that they only had one shower which felt like it could use a remodel. The tranquility room was very relaxing and quiet. The massage was first class. After a day of hiking and a late night out was in need of a massage to unwind and Megumi delivered. I booked a 60 minute deep tissue massage which was plenty of time to unwind and relax. A few other notes. Valet parking is complimentary with a spa service just make sure you get your ticket validated. We ended up leaving our car at the hotel and walking around the area and having lunch. Another thing to note is that you can use the hotel gym and pool if you are getting a spa service which is a nice bonus if you want to hang around for the day. The pool was on the smaller side but they have food service and cabanas.

I booked the Weekday wellness for me and a friend. They couldn't book our nail services at the same time because of limited staff which was a downer, but didnt mind. The massages were both great and at the same time. After the massage, we had 30 minute break to use the relaxation room. Compared to other 5 star spas this one came short. They only had cold tea and water and very little snacks. I feel like the tea selection could've been expanded a little- and also maybe some magazines? The steam and sauna rooms were standard. The negative experience came, when the spa forgot to tell the restaurant that we were coming, so they weren't ready ( the wellness package was supposed to have cabana lunch but due to the rain had to be substituted). The Restaurant did not know that we were coming ( despite the spa saying they would know) they also didn't give us the spa credit (like they were supposed to) lastly the valet also was not informed of the package. Communication between the staff could have been way better. Disappointing because for the price and the 5 star reputation I was expecting less hassle
Be the first to ReplySince Covid, so many Spas have kinda lost their way.
.. and seem a bit like shadows of themselves. We all know this, and of course there's the flipside: several customers have lost business, income, and what used to be a "usual luxury" for some has become far more of a pure luxury. And to acknowledge the obvious: of course these are high class problems. An upside down experience getting a manicure pedicure is hardly the worst thing in the world. But if it's a hard earned luxury, and you're looking for a great place to relax on your one day off, this might not be the best option. Of course SPA's like the 4 Seasons are generally aiming at a clientele where pricing is not TOO much of a consideration. Even still - if you're going to charge over $80 - $90 for a basic manicure, you will hope that the manicure will be a good one, and that everything will go smoothly in terms of communication. I was gifted a mani pedi and was of course excited. The day of the appointment, everything went smoothly. I was even gifted a latte by the Manicurist - the only one that they currently have on staff since they've lost so many during Covid and have yet to hire more - she was a lovely human being. Unfortunately as you can see in the pictures, she did not thoroughly paint the nails. AND left the cuticles a bit rough and not thoroughly cleaned. After complimenting me a few times on having beautiful "nailbeds" - so she was clearly paying attention to my nails - she failed to actually apply polish on the entire nail, leaving the sides exposed. See images. What's even more confusing about this is that she only had eight nails to paint... The toenail polish we did not touch as it was chrome finish, and I have two accent nails likewise not needing a regular manicure - so with only 8 nails to polish she still didn't correctly complete the manicure. Because this was my one day off and I was enjoying soaking up the spa atmosphere, it didn't occur to me to study the nails until I was in my car. Lesson learned - even if you're at a place charging $80 plus for a manicure, I should've been more diligent in checking before I left. However I did call promptly from my car 15 minutes later, but was told the manager was no longer available. I left word for the manager, Gilma, who had promised me in person that anything I needed, please feel free to call her, and if I needed to discuss anything, Tuesdays were the best day. I left word on the Saturday, got a call back on Sunday wanting to try to schedule me, and I explained that again I just wished to speak to the manager. They promised they would leave a message for her. By Wednesday noon I had still not received a call back and when I did get to Gilma, she literally said over 6 times how "very busy she is" and that I should "just see her schedule.". When I reminded her she specifically asked me to call Tuesday and that I had, again I got told how very busy she was (I guess she feels others are not as slammed...?) BUT was "welcome to call anytime"... The implication being she's busy with other business, she'll get back to when she chooses. Understood. She asked me three different times why I had not mentioned the issue when I was there, and every time I gave her the same answer: I had (mistakenly) assumed given that it was the 4 Seasons that I did not have to be carefully examining my nails up close all blissed out enjoying a spa experience that I rarely get to enjoy, BUT that I DID call 15 minutes later... The call that took her over 3 days to NOT yet return. Apparently my explaining that twice was not enough; the third time she offered to have the manicure removed. What is clear at this time is that the trappings are luxurious, Gilma / the Spa are short expert technicians, claim the reason that they don't have more technicians is their exacting standards, and yet the one technician they have is not doing thorough work - or at least did not during my session where she had 8 nails to paint for a Mani Pedi. As you may also guess, with one technician on staff, this means scheduling can be limited. You'll be working around what openings they may have left after hotel guests. I suppose if $80 plus is not really an issue, and scheduling is not a huge consideration, this might be an adequate experience. If you're looking for a thorough manicure and prompt communication if any issue, Gilma and her team seem unable to offer this at the moment (at least, for non Hotel guests; I'm sure with concierge if enjoying a stay you'll have more prompt response?). A further note: to actually park at the hotel, you will pay a minimum of $10 - and that's without tipping. That's with "validation". They approach this as good news, as that's far less than their usual rate: over $50. So really you're paying for a manicure at $100 if you're parking. Otherwise, you're welcome to search the side streets in hopes of a space that's not limited by permits etc. Thank you.

Massage: Megumi performed my massage and she is incredible. It was the best massage I have every had. She was professional, kind, and precise. Parking: * Complimentary free valet parking with spa usage Cons: * The front spa reception guy was impatient and slightly pushy You get pool access with the spa. The locker room is well stocked and super clean. I can't wait to go back. Tip: * Don't rush your visit. You can spend the whole day here

Now that Jessica's gone, I can't recommend this spa any more. I had a pedicure and massage. My nails looked nice, but the new manicurist cut my cuticle back too far. It's been months already, it hasn't grown back and it pinches my toe every day. Also, the massage I got didn't relieve any of the pain or tension.
Be the first to ReplyI came here with a friend for her birthday.
I have a personal massage therapist who is incredible. Therefore, I am always left disappointed whenever I visit anyone new. This time was no different. While my therapist was really sweet, I feel like she didn't listen to my needs. I told her I wanted really deep on the neck and shoulders. She reassured me that with all her "experience working on NFL players, I would have to ween her back". This was good news to me because usually therapists are very lazy and don't go deep. I don't like "feel good" massages. I like really therapeutic, deep tissue, sports type massage since I'm an ex-athlete. Of course, once she started, I realized she was like all the others. $350 to get pet on the back of my neck. Sweet. The front staff was also super stuffy and acted like they're above the customers. Do bizarre. Please don't give me attitude and put your nose in the air. You don't own the Four Seasons. You work it. Needless to say, customer service was below average. Then I went to the pool and ordered a watermelon margarita after the bartender insisted it was very delicious. $28 later, it was the worst margarita I have ever had. I didn't even drink it. Ok, I lied. The one at the Doheny Room was worse, but it definitely came in as the second worst margarita I have ever had. And I've had many. Also, their locker room was dirty We came here for the Oscars and the service was above and beyond then, but that's because it wasn't their regular staff. I won't come back here again unless... Well you get the picture.

Be the first to ReplyIt's actually 3 1/2 stars.
Pros: CLEAN, friendly staff, direct access to the pool, nice pool area and attentive staffs, great massage therapist and very knowledgeable. Cons: overall very small, only two men's shaving area, and mostly disappointed by the way they located a urinal right next to the sink where you shave fix your hair. (Please see pics attached). A little messy even though it was Monday where it's not that busy at all. (See pics). Very small steam room very very small area for changing. My bathroom is bigger than the entire spa area, and I live in a 2 bed room home. The walls are so thin that when I was in the treatment room getting massage, when ever someone flushed the toilet I could hear it very clearly. You can also hear the front desk booking appointment from the changing area. My wife had a complain about a service man walking to the woman's spa area to change a burned bulb. To finalize; do I have any major complaints, no not at all, do I come back, probably not. Four seasons Westlake is a much better place to go.
