Superkhana International Chicago Reviews from The Last Year

By no stretch of the imagination would I call this an Indian restaurant yet the fresh take on dishes with an Indian inspired flair was a delight. The cheese naan was more pizza like than a traditionally stuffed naan but good nonetheless. The parle-g pistachio ice cream sandwich is a must filling your heart with a perfectly balanced flavor of crumbly biscuit and creamy ice cream that makes you say why didn't people think of this combination sooner
Great neighborhood Indian brunch spot.
Chill vibe with vibrant decor. I couldn't stop raving about the breakfast potatoes and Lynchee mimosa (5 stars!). Be sure to get a side of the chili crisp oil, there is an up charge but you'll thank me. Our server was not wrong, we couldn't leave without having dessert and it was a perfect cherry on top for our entire meal!
Thoroughly Disappointing.
The magi noodle bolognese was worse than the $1 instant ramen cup from my early college days. And chili paneer naan was a sloppy bread laden with cheese and a few chillies. I could make that as a quick snack at home in the microwave - not what I would expect from a hip restaurant. Anyway, not a repeat for us by a long shot!

The cocktails here are so good I can see myself coming back just for the bar. But the food is also outstanding especially the potatoes which were some of the best I've had the Indian pizza fusion is a great idea and works very well. The staff was so warm and welcoming we will definitely be back.

Ok this place is really cute and fun for an Indian, modern brunch fusion vibe with really good service! The carrot halwa French toast is really unique. I've had the Bombay sandwich twice now, it comes with a lot of cheese so just be prepared for that! Also got the poha with an egg - This was good but nothing compares to my mom's poha so it was hard to love this. The iced chai was good, just a little watered down for my preference. Overall, I'd check this place out esp if you want to try something fun and different!
We had such a great dinner experience here! Kicking it off
We had such a great dinner experience here! Kicking it off with aesthetics - they're really going for an eclectic hipster vibe. Florals and low lighting with funky accents. Our waiter was so attentive and informative, helping aid in a laid back and not rushed experience. They coin themselves as a "cocktail forward" restaurant and definitely had some very unique, but pleasing, flavor combinations. The margarita with cumin infused tequila was particularly interesting with a deep smoky flavor. The food was SO good! Table favorite was the butter chicken calzone wow just wow. The Chana Chaat (A jalapeño cold chickpea salad) was also a table fav bursting with flavor, and the chili cheese naan was served more like a flatbread pizza but very tasty. Two dishes I wasn't as crazy about - the broccoli rabe + squash was very bitter and not cooked enough in my opinion, and the Tomato Achar Noodles were SO spicy I couldn't eat them! For how great the food was and the interior of the restaurant, they need to level up their bathroom game to match the overall experience. Would definitely go back!

Amazing inventive food, imaginative cocktails including non-alcoholic options some of the kindest loveliest waitstaff you would aver want to encounter

Wow! Did we love the food here! Sooo interesting and full of flavor. We had the Chana chat, eggplant bao, squash/broccoli rabe, naan and the Maggi noodles All fantastic. I would not miss the bao! Service was helpful snd friendly, and the room is very cute. Had a great time!
Awesome food friendly wonderful service.
Highly recommend the Rogan Josh and vindalio. .
my favorite restaurant in chicago, no contest.
the pork bao buns were amazing. the drinks always rock -- so adventurous and interesting! our server and host were so kind. always excellent and accomodating and delicious. (also, as a trans person, i always feel affirmed and comfortable here.)
Awesome!!! Enough said.
Super limited brunch menu but plenty of awesome options for everyone. Looooooved the dosa hash especially combo with the spicy sauces. Really outstanding Indian flavors but modern American feel. Cute space, great staff, plenty of bathroom stalls inclusive of a changing station kiddos! Cannot wait to come back for dinner. So great!

Tried this place with my husband and one of his friend who was visiting us from LA. The ambiance was amazing. The server was very welcoming and she briefed the menu. We love the Indian flavours & fusion take on each and every dish. We started off with Masala Soda and Two old fashioned. The drinks were good. For food we ordered bunch of stuff like Palak Paneer Pizza, followed by Butter Chicken Calzone, Maggi Noddles and lamb. I liked the palak paneer pizza. My husband and his friend just loved the Butter Chicken Calzone and Maggi Noodles. The lamb was decent however would rate this lower than the Butter Chicken Calzone and Maggi Noodles. In the end we then ordered chana chaat and Kebab Pizza. Kebab Pizza was delicious. I would highly recommend this place and would rate it 4.5 stars.
My friend and I had a fun and delicious brunch this weekend
My friend and I had a fun and delicious brunch this weekend at Superkhana International! There's a lot to like about this place, and I'll definitely return. The inside is cheery and matched by the friendliness of the service. I was seated right away for my reservation despite my friend running late. Our server EJ was nice, upbeat, and helpful. I ordered a hot chai on his advice that it had some sweetness but wasn't over the top, and it was tasty and on point (albeit a little small). My friend and I both ordered the uttapam, which was excellent. Three small, savory pancakes arrived with a coconut chutney. The cakes were spicier than I expected, but the chutney perfectly balanced it out. While we were waiting, we got a good look at other dishes. The potatoes looked particularly good, and I regretted not adding them to our order. I did leave a little hungry, so I would recommend ordering more than one dish if you want something a little more substantial. It's worth knowing that they add a 20% service charge to your bill automatically. I was okay with this for two reasons: (1) it matched the quality of our service, which was excellent, and (2) they were VERY up front about it, not only stating it on the menu but also attaching bright pink pieces of paper to the bill noting it. This is a welcome change from places that don't make it as obvious to the customer. I would definitely go back to have the uttapam again and try other things on the menu. Their patio looks very nice as well, so I'll look forward to returning when the weather gets nicer and snagging a table out there.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
