Great location, but you don't know what you eat
Wils has a nice menu and the food tasted reasonable to good (but not at star level). However, I could hardly find what was on the menu in the food or taste it. We ate: * Trout – elstar apple – Belle de Fontenay. This was a very good dish and you could taste trout * White asparagus - oyster - sweet woodruff. I have not seen or tasted the oyster * Cuttlefish – pointed cabbage – gochujang. With a lot of effort I was able to find the cuttlefish in the dish. The taste was not recognizable and I think was overpowered by the other dishes. * Lamb saddle - eggplant - rose. Perfectly cooked tiny little piece. Considering the very small piece, the sauce was too strong Rhubarb - buckwheat - horseradish. This dish tasted very good, but I hardly recognized the rhubarb. The delicious bread we received made it sufficient. Otherwise I think we would have had to go to Febo. The wines were also on the very expensive side.

Quality restaurant, informal yet classy and starred. Dynamic, young and kind staff. Excellent food, well prepared and served. Discreet but spot-on wine recommendations. Young, well-kept and very clean environment. excellent organization. Experience to relive
Nice casual atmosphere, very friendly and professional service but with, for us, a few culinary mistakes.
Restaurant Wils is a restaurant with a very nice energetic and informal atmosphere with very good, friendly and professional service. However, we were disappointed with the quality of the food. The starters (trout and shellfish) were excellent. Very tasty and very beautifully presented. Even though there were butter knives on the table, we didn't get any bread. Upon inquiry, the delicious bread was still brought. Salt/pepper was also missing, but this was brought upon request. The main course with stuffed quail was disappointing. The taste was good, but in our opinion it was cooked too short, causing the inner meat to be red and bloody. It was taken back, but we received the message from the kitchen that this is simply the way it is served and that they could not change this because the meat is delivered sous vide. The Simmentaler ribeye (300gr Euro 85,-) was excellently cooked and tasty, but had (too) many parts with fat. This was a shame. The cheese platter with the cheeses selected by the guest was very tasty with beautiful and delicious garnishes. What was particularly disappointing in terms of taste was the corn crème caramel. The corn aftertaste of the cream was really unpleasant and the brown butter ice cream was perceived as far from tasty (so we left it out). The service responded very adequately to our findings (which are of course personal). Despite the nice atmosphere and very friendly and hospitable service (Lucy was the name of our waitress, I believe), it was still a disappointment. We think that is very unfortunate. The fact that the 2 dishes (quail and crème caramel) were not on the bill is very sympathetic, but it was not requested. What is written here should be seen as a positive opinion. We expected better, especially considering that Wils has a Michelin *.
Celebratory lunch while Turkish chef of NeoLokal was guest
Had an amazing walk-in lunch on 7th of October in Wils while chef Maksut Askar from Istanbul’s Michelin star restaurant NeoLokal was guest chef. The menu was amazing, along with its wine pairings. All dishes were amazing but the most favorite and tasty dish for me was sepia-cabbage- Korean gochujang. The barbecued sepia was amazing. Similarly kadinbudu kofte chicken rice squares had a positively interesting modernized taste of classic kadinbudu kofte. Kohlrabi, melon, citrus was serving both to the eye and taste. From wines, white rioja was amazing, Australian desert wine with rose aroma was also very good. If you see this type of collaboration i highly recommend you to try it.
A fantastic experience
Everything is right here, the building, the location, entry, reception, nice casual but professional service. The setting of the restaurant is so cool, we sat at the low bar where everything is prepared right in front of you by nice people who take their work and quality very seriously. What a great team is working here. The wines and champagne as well as the food are truly delicious and fully meet your expectations of a restaurant with a star. Nice that we were also able to catch a glimpse of Joris. This tent radiates class, passion and fun. For us a 9 and certainly positive advice to go! A full evening of enjoyment. Beautiful work, what entrepreneurship, what quality!
A wonderful friendly restaurant with excellent food and service.
The food was spectacular, and the ambiance was friendly and hip. I had the tasting menu and all the courses were special. Three of the 5 courses were comparable to the best I have had in more highly-rated Michelin restaurants. They were each a novel surprise on the palate, from fresh ingredients, texture, spice, or just taste. The wait staff was polite, attentive, and helpful with wine advice. It is easy to get to using the 397 bus from Schiphol or the center of town. I will certainly go back!
Delicious coffee & memorable piece of cake
I'm not one to usually choose a place like this, but it was the closest from my hotel. The coffee was delicious and the piece of cake was great, I don't care what chocolate it was but it was good.
Too expensive for mini dishes
The restaurant uses Michelin prices without the grandeur of a star restaurant. We were served hastily. The lunch menu did not contain real lunch dishes. There were some imaginative dishes on it. I chose Yellowtail dish. 5 slices of tuna for €28 and my table companions also got mini plates for sky-high prices. So no, I'm not a fan of this trendy place
