My old roommate was visiting from out of state, so we decided to spend the day in Napa. Before wine tasting, we dined at Bottega to fill our bellies. The Hubs and I shared the pear salad and it was a great way to start the meal! All the ingredients were very fresh and not overly dressed. I ordered the rabbit rigatoni, which I highly recommend. The rabbit was a tad bit dry and simply tasted like chicken breast, but the pasta was the start of the show. It was perfectly cooked to al dente and smothered in a rich demi-glace. The sauce was divine! The Hubs ordered the vegetarian fusilli, which had a spicy kick. It was lighter and healthier for sure, but I enjoyed my dish so much more! One kid ordered the Bolognese and the other ordered the steak with truffle fries. They were both very happy with their meals! The service was also great! There was a mixup with the brussels sprouts dish my friend ordered. She ordered the roasted brussels sprouts, but the server brought out the shaved brussels sprouts salad. The server apologized and took care of it right away with no fuss, which was much appreciated. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. I'll have to try the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren next time as it's my sister's favorite!

The one star is for the gentleman helping me (David) They tres lychee drink was amazing. My daughter really enjoyed the meatballs great sauce and seasoned well. Only downfall of the night was a bug in my food. They said they never seen one before (was in my soup) I just found another one in the window. Forgot to take a pic of the bug in my food. Maybe it's sunny but definitely disappointed. Updated***** Adam Tirado made things right and biggest thing acknowledged what Pedro didn't.

I came in for a quick lunch before my final tasting of the day. I had the carbonara pasta and it was very good. The guanciale adds nice salt and the yolk makes it creamy. Good restaurant when in the Yountville area.

Sat at a table right next to the wood fireplace and it was a treat to smell the smoke and enjoy eating outside on a day when we were supposed to get rained out. The waiter and the other server were awesome! I had a white Negroni which was fun and a nice change up from a standard Negroni, uses a blanco Campari. I had a beef dish with polenta-delicious! Jessica had the vegetable lasagna and it was so fresh and delicious. I know in hindsight she wishes she had a pasta dish, because hers was all vegetarianish... still good, but not as rich, This place was our best experience of the first two days.
Be the first to ReplyDoesn't seem like there is many Italian options in Napa.
Came here for dinner and it was average at best.

Food Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren 4/5 A dish as sophisticated as it sounds, the flavors are LOUD. The smell of basil washed over me as it arrived at table which I would normally swoon over (call me basil bae) but the salt was applied heavy handedly. I was a bit disappointed as the spaghetti would have been perfect had it not been so salty. Al dente pasta. No protein. It is still worth trying. Scallop Risotto 4.5/5 Tenderest scallops! Risotto cooked nicely. Coming in more expensive than the branzino, I had raised expectations and it delivered. Ricotta gnocchi 4/5 Pillows describe the gnocchi perfectly. Ricotta is smooth. Red sauce paired nicely. Service Coperta cover charge per person. Servers kept our beverages full and cleaned the tables expeditiously, attentive and friendly. I love how there's outdoor seating year around in these odd times we're living in. Large lot for parking.
Be the first to ReplyBottega was amazing.
We travelled to Napa Valley for the weekend and this restaurant was the highlight of our trip. To start off, we were shown to our table by Harry, who was an absolute delight. He was so welcoming and he truly made our experience at the restaurant very memorable. Thank you to Harry and the wait staff for the wonderful service! Now, the food. Wow. Every single dish our group of 7 ordered was so delicious. Beginning with the bread to the pasta dishes, everything was so great. The shaved brussel sprout salad is a must try and if you like Caesar salad, that was really good as well. The ambiance was sooo nice and very romantic. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back for sure!

Great location, the patio is super dog friendly which we loved and the food was great, except for the Hail Cesar Nero salad, that was just icky and grey. No need to use black garlic & charcoal to change the look, salad tasted fine but don't go grilling the romaine and adding weird stuff! the color was so off putting, just yuk & why? Flavor was the same, just ugly grey color! Ewww. The Raviolo was perfect! The sommelier was lovely but our waitress asked us immediately after each dish was brought out, how it was? When clearly we had not even touched it. Almost all of our plates were chipped, even the bowl of butternut squash soup. Made it more rustic Italian in my view, serving on chipped pottery style dishes. we didn't mind, the soup was divine. We bought Michael's cookbook and were looking forward to recreating these dishes at home, if that's even possible. Totally recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing! We got this to share with the table.
For appetizers we had calamari & octopus. Octopus was so yummy and flavorful. However the star of the night were the steak & risotto!!! I also got the ravioli but the truffle flavor was a lil too strong for me but overall food and service was 10/10.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a fantastic meal at Bottega.
We had a later reservation in the evening and were not surprised to find the restaurant packed. Despite how busy it was, the ambiance was intimate and romantic. We settled on wine recommended by our waiter which was phenomenal - huge fan of the quartino serving which got us through our entire meal. The bread and garlic Parmesan dip was strikingly delicious. We ordered the burrata as our appetizer and we're rewarded with an array of perfectly paired flavors - creamy burrata, citrusy pomegranate caviar, and salty pistachio pesto. I ordered the risotto which featured oxtail and it was simply life changing. My husband ordered the raviolo and thought the same. The portions were generous too. This was such a special dinner experience from start to finish and a must for anyone in the area.

Decent food but we found the service to be slow, indifferent, and a bit cold. It seemed like they were just going through the motions without really caring about the diners. There are a bunch of other restaurants in the area that would have been a better experience.
Be the first to ReplyLovely restaurant inside.
Food was okay. The short ribs were delicious the service was really good. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Food is a bit rich as well.

Came in for my brothers and I's birthday celebration! Were triplets so its usually pretty funny telling a restaurant thats its all 3 of our birthdays haha, BUT the waitstaff was amazing and brought us the cutest little charcuterie board, full of delicious desserts, some of which I hadn't tried before, but were all super tasty. And the food was even better! We got a variety of everything, and all of it I would recommend if you were to come here. My favorite was an appetizer made of dough and prosciutto, forgot the name. If im ever in Yountville again, i'll be coming back!!

Costumer service is very bad. The food was too salty. We asked if we can get it replaced but the server refused. Meh...

Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! The calamari is elevated and not your typical fried calamari. My husband had the ravioli and it was perfection! I had the branzino and it was not bad, but I will get pasta if we are ever lucky enough to dine here again. The panna cotta was divine and redeemed a horrible panna cotta we had at the Auberge earlier in our trip. Would definitely return and recommend!!
Be the first to ReplyBeen to Bottega every visit to the Napa area.
We have attended harvest parties as well at Michael's house. Everything has always been great. Good drinks and service.

A long, overdue outing with one of my best friends! Girls night at #Bottega in Yountville. .Drinks: Negroni Royale & After "Spa" Water. Both had great flavor, light floral notes and not too sweet. .Apps: complimentary bread with garlic and parmesan spread and the burrata. The bread was soft, light, airy and so fresh. The spread was a perfect pairing. The burrata was beautifully decorated with pistachio pesto, tangerines and pomegranate syrup "caviar". .Main Course: ox tail risotto and roasted brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts had a bit too much oil and salt, but was otherwise good. The risotto was creamy and rich - perfect for a cold night like tonight! .Dessert: we ordered their most popular dessert - Zeppole. It was 3 hazelnut cream filled donuts. We also received a trio of complimentary cookies since this was also a belated birthday celebration. .Overall, a great dining experience from start to finish!

Bottega is not just a destination place, it's an experience of great food and great service. Fun staff made it more enjoyable as oppose to a serious atmosphere that tends to be stuffy in some places.Appetizer of calamari was enough for about 2 hungry folks or 4 just to enjoy a sampler. I guess it was about right lololol Main course for me was the sea bass fish, lightly coated and gently sautéed leaving the head on... no worries there, it presented well and was very light. I can't recall if I had capers on it, but it was tasty. Fresh artisan bread with a spread was too strong for me.. I asked for butter in the end to soften the taste. Maybe I had too much instead of a moderate amount. Can't recall the spread but although good, it was too strong.Fabulous drinks kept coming. Everyone enjoyed a variety of mixed cocktails. We opted out of the dessert and went to Bouchon bakery just to have more variety and something different. I'm sure the offered dessert would have been good, but we opted out.Clean, not noisy, cozy atmosphere. I would go back a 5th time but make sure Cioppino is on the menu for lunch.. my favorite

Our first time here and we were not disappointed! I orders the ricotta gnocchi and they were just the most delicate delicious pasta ever entering my mouth! (I wish I had some right now! ). My hubby had the Sophia Lauren pasta and he loved his! Bothe we're amazing- oh we started with the heirloom tomato and burrata salad - muah!! It was so beautifully delicious!! I think the best we ever had!! Can't wait to return to Napa for this delicious dinner again!! Outside seating and reservations are recommended.
Be the first to ReplyWe used to go here a lot and loved it every time.
This was the first time since the start of the pandemic and it has slipped. I know a lot of places are having trouble keeping staff, but it took 20 minutes to even get a waiter to us, and when we finally got the food, there was at least 20 minutes between courses. The 2nd course would arrive before the busboy had cleared the dishes from the first course! We could tell the waiters and busboys all had a large area to cover, so I can't blame them entirely -- there just wasn't enough staff. If that were the only problem, I would be more sympathetic, but the food wasn't the same. In the past, we would always be blown away by unusual ingredients, getting something we've never had before and always very fresh. That's all changed. What we got wasn't bad, but pretty mediocre. The zucchini lasagna tasted like it was made 2-3 days ago and just warmed up from the fridge -- not what I would expect from Bottega. The desserts were just ho-hum. Nothing special. The whole experience was very disappointing to what we remembered. Hopefully the old Bottega will come back soon.
Be the first to ReplyReally fantastic dinner.
We had an amazing waiter who was super attentive the entire night and gave us the recommendation to get the gnocchi in between our apps and entrees... best thing we ate all night. My branzino was good, but I'd say that the chicken was the best entree we got. The lava cake was subpar, but their gelatos and sorbets were great. Overall would 100% come back, but there are better restaurants in Yountville.

I have decided to try this place from my friend's recommendation. It's located in such a cute little area and the restaurant itself is just gorgeous. We made a reservation and got a table in the back, nice little area but eventually my friend and I had to ask for another table since it smelled bad there. Our server reluctant to moved us though. We moved to a covered area and it was better. My friend ordered Sauvignon Blanc and I order 'After Spa Water' which we both LOVE those . Followed by truffle fried which was huge and I got Ricotta gnocchi dells nonna while my friend got Risotta del Giomo. Both were tasty but mine was little too cheesy. Oh I forgot to mention that we order Burrata Caprese as well..... it was delicious. While everything was going so well, something was kinda bother us. After appetizer was served not too long, entrees arrived right away then our server brought a dessert menu!!!!! We haven't really finished anything yet. Then he came by and asked if we want any dessert.... It's been less than an hour (which we have 2 hours period for the reservation) my friend lost it and asked him..... if he needed a table ( which they were not that busy!!) he said no. So she went to asked the hostess and she said no we were fine. There it went .... From first impression, went to furious but we still tried to made the most of of it.Hopefully next time we have another server who has better service mind.
