Antidote Brooklyn Reviews from The Last Year
Ambiance and decor was beautiful but was honestly
Ambiance and decor was beautiful but was honestly disappointed by the food since it has high reviews online. 1. (3/5) Crunchy but after two bites, it became really salty and was hard to finish. 2. (4/5) Chili wonton was good but has a small portion (4 pcs). 3. (4/5) Sichuan cold noodles - I liked the texture of the noodles but it was pretty spicy. 4. (3/5) The numbing beef, I expected this to have more flavor profile since it was an entree and one of the more pricier dishes on the menu. However, it was kind of gamey and didn't taste that great after awhile once the dish cooled down. 5. (3/5) Mapo tofu was soft but also quite salty. 6. (2/5) Duck fried rice had a strong smokey flavor, did not finish this. Overall, the flavors were more salty, spicy, garlicy if you're into that. I felt like the strong flavors really overpowered the food itself. Service was great but I'm not sure if I would come back again for the food.
Came here with a group of friends and we had a pretty great
Came here with a group of friends and we had a pretty great experience overall! Staff and service were excellent & the ambiance is perfection. It's such a vibe and spacious. Love it. As for food, majority were good! Here's what we got: - Numbing cubes (5/5): The table's favorite dish! The rib eye cubes were cooked perfectly & tender. So much great flavor. Loved. - Duck fried rice (4.5/5): Fried really well and loved the Duck in there. Great flavor & yummy. - String Beans (4.5/5): Can't go wrong but it had a lot of great flavor & depth. - Eggplants with Garlic (4/5): Classic Chinese dish made well! Nothing crazy, but tased good. - Sichuan chili fried chicken (3/5): Ok so flavor wise it's a 4/5 however...omg..for $22..I think you can afford to put a little bit more chicken. It felt like we were fishing for scraps and small little pieces of chicken with a mountain full of pepper. - Golden fish filet (2.5/5): It was SO dry, maybe overcooked, and not enough fish. It tasted like majority some kind of batter of the salted egg yolk then a VERY thin fish. It did not feel like I was eating fish lol. Huge miss on this one. Overall though..we had a great experience & the drinks were good! It's a great place to go with friends or a date. I'd still go back but maybe not get the dishes that were a bit disappointing.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem while waiting for a brunch
I stumbled upon this hidden gem while waiting for a brunch table nearby and was delighted to discover it. Unaware it was in the area, I decided to pop in for a drink at the bar. The decor is meticulously curated, with attention paid to every small detail. From the moment my glass of water was poured, I was captivated by the unique glassware used to serve the drinks. The cocktails were delicious and expertly crafted. Although my visit was brief, this place is now on my list to circle back for dinner.
great large group dinner spot! you're really paying for the
great large group dinner spot! you're really paying for the aesthetic. the food was good but felt like portions were a bit small and it's not authentic chinese food. the place gets super busy and loud so not sure if it'd be ideal for a first date vibe all in all, not bad but if you're looking for authentic chinese food you're better off going to chinatown
All the dishes were done quite well with some nice flavor.
I liked the mapo tofu and the cold noodles the most.
I've heard of antidote being one of the best from friends
I've heard of antidote being one of the best from friends and Instagram, and it did not disappoint. Came for lunch, and you know it's a good sign when both young people AND families are at this place. It means it has hype, but it's also good enough for parents to enjoy and value too. It didn't look like what I expected! It had a cozy vibe and super family friendly. There's even a large table for bigger groups. Everything we ordered was very good. The pork trotters were a newer item, and balanced the fatty pork with the cilantro, cumin, and nuts. The chicken was standard, and maybe a bit inconsistent in size. The tomato beef soup was very flavorful and missed from my common order at Szechuan mountain house. The crab tofu is a must order, and pairs perfectly with a bowl of rice. Pricing is very reasonable and cocktails are not bad too! I'll definitely be back.
Great service, amazing food and the best vibe! Quick
Great service, amazing food and the best vibe! Quick service and so attentive. Will come back next time I visit!
Beautiful restaurant with a lot of plants and vintage
Beautiful restaurant with a lot of plants and vintage lightbulbs. I've been here twice now, once for my birthday with a group of 9 people and for a casual dinner night out. The restaurant was very accommodating during my birthday occasion and there were no issues with food, drinks, or cake organization. We did have to split up the tables to avoid the pre-fixe menu, but otherwise I enjoyed the experience and like that there is not additional cake fee. My favorite dish here is definitely the fatty beef tomato soup!
I truly loved my dining experience at Antidote.
Came here last night- we were a group of 5. The restaurant is very nice and the waiters were friendly and helpful. We ordered the spicy pork soup dumplings, chicken dumplings, spicy cold noodles, beef, fried chicken (wasn't a fan), crab fried rice, shrimp was AMAZING and so was the eggplant in garlic sauce. Literally drooling thinking about it. I had a spicy margarita- I didn't love it. It didn't have enough of a kick and not strong enough. However the food was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to return!
Food, atmosphere, service were great.
The only thing , you need to make a reservation. This place is packed.
Decor and ambiance is A+ but the restaurant was a bit
Decor and ambiance is A+ but the restaurant was a bit chilly. A couple of the other customers and I were still wearing our jackets inside the restuarant. However, the food is just like any other average Szechuan food out there. Started the meal off with the "Scallion Pancake" which was good, the sauce was sweet and the pancakes were crispy. Ordered the "Sui Mai with Tea Smoked Duck" which was pretty salty, wasn't worth the price to be honest. Sautéed string beans was also good but too salty. The Dandan noodle was fresh and good. The Dongpo pork and crab fried rice was actually my favorite but it was also just... average in my opinion. However the price for the entire meal was extremely fair. If you want good asian food around Brooklyn, Antidote is worth going to due to it's price and it definitely does reflect what Szechuan food is supposed to taste like.

This food was sooo delicious! Beck, our waiter, was so helpful and fun -- we had a great date night here. Absolutely coming back for the crab fried rice and crab tofu!
2.5/5 Finally got the chance to try antidote and I wasn't
2.5/5 Finally got the chance to try antidote and I wasn't particularly wowed by it tbh. Pros - very extensive menu with a ton of options! Really liked the shrimp dish because the shrimp was large, juicy, and had a ton of flavor. Also liked the baiju cocktail! It had a lot of different flavor profiles that blended together in a good way. Portion sizes were also large! Also the interior design was very cute and cozy. Cons - I think they went for presentation over flavor a lot of the time. For example, the blossom fish was DROWNED in sauce - yes it looked cool but it felt unnecessary and just made it overly saucy. The Dan Dan noodles had a great flavor but were kind of cold when they came out. There wasn't enough crab in the crab tofu and it was a little overly egg yolky for me.
We got a bunch of things to share but everything was just
We got a bunch of things to share but everything was just ok to me. I didn't love the texture of the crab tofu, and the duck had a whole lot of bones. The main thing I liked was the sesame cold noodle. Also our cocktails were very good.
4.5 stars! The restaurant has great vibes, very romantic
4.5 stars! The restaurant has great vibes, very romantic with plants and beautiful lights. We were sat down next to a wall with a row of travels for 2. I think these tables are too close together for my preference but that's NYC for you. The staff also sat the next party of 2 right next to us when there were so many other tables on either of our sides. My sense of space might be different from most New Yorkers. I got the baijiu cocktail, and it was refreshing. The food was also amazing. I really enjoyed the crab tofu. The rib eye cubes were good too but I expected more spice for sichuan restaurant. The service was good. The staff was attentive, they kept asking us if we were done eating, even though there were a lot of other empty tables. The restaurant accepts reservation and would be a cute spot for dates or groups.
food here was yummy and up to my chinese expectations!
food here was yummy and up to my chinese expectations! everything was well seasoned and perfectly textured. you can rely on this place to serve you right! ambiance was cute but very LOUD. my friend and i got so tired of yelling at each other. it was def an ouch to the wallet so i prob won't come back again for that reason since I think there are more reasonably priced options that deliver similar quality of food.
On a Friday evening, I walked in and tried to put my name
On a Friday evening, I walked in and tried to put my name down for a table for two but all the tables were supposedly booked for the entirety of the night. Walk ins were only allowed at the bar area. When I returned an hour later, we had to put our names down for a 30-40 minute wait at the bar. By 7/8pm, the restaurant was incredibly busy and jammed packed. The ambience of the place is definitely phenomenal with the lighting and decor. There's also jazz music on Wednesday nights. Once we were seated, the servers were all pretty nice as well. In terms of the food, we got garlic peashoots, twice cooked pork, and crab tofu. It is worth noting that rice does not come with the dishes and are $2 each. My personal favorite was the twice cooked pork but everything was pretty good. I liked the flavors of everything but will admit the pork was a bit oily and the peashoots could've used slightly more flavor. While the prices were a bit on the high end, the portions were quite generous and everything we ordered was more than enough for two people.
hands down my favorite restaurant in all of NYC - and
hands down my favorite restaurant in all of NYC - and that's saying a lot!! must haves: crab tofu, do pong rou, and fei hong shrimp. we scarfed down the food so quickly! will definitely be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know :)

I had the pleasure to dine at Antidote tonight, place was busy, but our waitress Beck made us feel like we were the only ones there. Food was fantastic and large portioned, drinks were equally tasty. Beck suggested and explained a few food and drinks items and didn't disappoint, she did an amazing job considering how busy the place was. I will definitely come visit again next time I'm In the area.
Antidote
Don't you open up that window, don't you let out that Antidote... hahaha okay not my best intro but I couldn't help myself. We came here rolling deep on a Saturday night post Freehold, so thought there was a very little chance we get in. But big bro (aka Guh Guh) whipped out his Mandarin at the front and sweet-talked the hostess, so we were seated within 5 minutes. Like Guh Guh always says, "Sweet talk but don't intimidate her!" The ambiance is fantastic, as I felt like I could eat off the floors in here. It is what I imagine an Anthropology would look like if they opened up a restaurant. Take that however you will. For food, we went family style and I couldn't recommend it enough. We got the Duck, Numbing Cubes, Kung Pao Chicken, Dandan Noodles, Veggie Fried Rice, and the Sliced Beef Chili Oil. I personally thought it was some of the best Chinese food I have had in NYC, but Guh Guh said verbatim "For New York Chinese Food it wasn't bad, it was good." IG @jnov_ TIktok @jnov__
Outstanding!
We had an early Dim Sum dinner before a show at The Opera House. It is unusual to find a Dim Sum restaurant that spends so much effort on their cocktails. The cocktails were very good. Each Dim Sum plate was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Sui Mai with tea smoked duck and the Egg Lava Buns (for dessert). The room is attractive and comfortable. The service is helpful and attentive.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
